I don't remember a thread like this for general Brawl...
there were socials in (almost?) every character board though. imo socials sometimes have a tendency to sap good discussion and threads from boards, unfortunately.

I wondered why the thread is named ''Smash 4 Social Thread'' rather than ''SmashBoards Social Thread,'' but I think it makes sense for it to be named ''Smash 4 Social Thread'' since it's on the Smash Wii U boards. xD

I really am glad that speculation is ending. I'm a naysayer when it comes to most threads... sad to say. And most of the time I'm silent about it. There have been an exorbitant amount of dumb ones recently.

I absolutely agree with you. Speculation is boring. I would speculate in a competitive way, but not for guessing which character is going to be revealed. I honestly don't see the point. All characters will be leaked on September 12/13 (if not earlier) and then there will be a massive debate if highly requested characters like Mewtwo, Ridley and K. Rool are not in the game. Then speculation is over and...yeah. 3DS and Wii U will have their competitive discussion subforums.
We should all rejoice when the competitive hype begins.

Politoad is still viable, just not as viable as he once was.
I for one think that particular nerf was a good/bad thing. I think the limitation to five turns is bad because one can easily stall five turns. You can get at maximum 10 turns, but you require a weather rock, which not only consumes your item space, but in Charizard Y's case, cannot be held at all.
Here's my suggestion: 6 turn weather due to ability, 7 turn due to move. When you use the move Sunny day, the first turn is wasted, thus the full use of the sun is 4, and if you switch, 3. With seven, you get one turn for sun, the second for a possible switch, leaving you with a possible five turn sun. One turn is removed from the ability because it activates automatically when sent out.
Just my opinion. Not that Gamefreak is watching. :v

You know, I agree with you on weather being a good/bad thing of sorts. A good thing is that Drizzle + Swift Swim is no longer banned, allowing stuff like Kabutops and Omastar to sweep easily while their Water STAB gets boosted. The bad thing is that the nerf is one of the reasons why things like Tentacruel are not viable anymore.
If weather was still permanent, Charizard Y would be extremely broken, Charizard X would drop to A+ Rank and Mega Ampharos would be a lot happier with permanent rain because of Thunder always doing damage. Azumarill would enjoy the boost of its Water STAB and then it would be an S-Rank Pokémon for sure.

But we'll actually have something to talk about. Think about it, there's only so much discussion about a game that can be made with no one playing it. If we have the game, we'll have tons to talk about.

Still, there was a charm to this place that no other could capture.

Speaking of that, I recently read two different articles on Encyclopedia Dramatica about two notable sonic fanboys one of which makes anybody CRINGE when his name is spoken.

ChasetheHedgeHog: Basically some kid (I think) who though his godawful MS paint art of sonic characters was actually good when his DeviantArt page got over 100,000 thanks to someone on 4chan making a thread about said bad art and providing a link!

SonManic: All you need to know about this creep is that he has acquired at least two different cease and desist orders from SEGA, is notable for trying to make some crappy sonic movie WITHOUT Sega's consent, and wear diapers. ( I WISH I was joking about that last one )

Is this a general question? If so, yes. I was formally on many obscure forums such as the weird Pokemon Card Maker forums, which are now gone, Project Axis, and of course, [CLASSIFIED]. I was also part of McLeodGaming for a bit. I have a Brawl in the Family forum account, but I don't use it. Same for Miiverse.

So what happened to Sal Romano and his "leaker". Last I heard, he was supposedly trying to get in contact with said leaker about WHY Shulk or whoever wasn't in the July 14th reveal trailer (which had Robin and Lucina instead thus killing any credibility the second half of the leak MAY have had.) I personally think the guy was just some punk who made guesses on characters who were fairly likely to get in along with one or two "troll" characters just for ****s and giggles and started acting like he knew everything the moment Wii Fit Trainer was actually confirmed and with Chrom being Deconfirmed, I feel ol Sal knew he could no longer keep up the façade and quit the internetz for fear that Captain Falcon will punch him so hard, he falls off the face of the earth
