This NEEDS to be an alternate menu theme in Smash. It would definitely fit the vibe of Wii U and 3DS due to the usage of funk.

The different hair, dress, earrings, crown, and face would work well. Doc himself should be an outfit for Mario too (inb4 Golden appears to defend him). I just want more alternate costumes period instead of just Wario and Miss Fit having them. Much more variety and resources than just a simple set of recolors for four games.

You know, the've come a long way from Melee. I think they could do it now. I think if we see Dr. Mario, then Daisy has a chance as that kind. I wouldn't mind it honestly.

His Dr. Mario outfit would be pretty neat as well. His fireballs don't even have to change into pills, just the costume would satisfy me.

No. They need to be Pills or no dice. There is no Dr. Mario without the Mega Vitamins. It's just not worth it. That's what made him interesting, as well as the fact his properties were different from the original in general, and why he is higher on the tier list. He was an upgraded Mario with some different attacks. Also, his Smash A needs to use Electricity and his Down B and Air Down A need to be like their Melee selves, otherwise the effect of being the Doctor is lost. Those are 4 necessary changes. I'm okay with him having the Yellow cape(should be colored White though) and the regular Super Jump Punch. He'd need a new Final Smash for obvious reasons. He doesn't use fire at all. Maybe a similar one using electricity only. Alternatively, he could throw a stretcher at someone, catching them, then do some kind of combo attack, akin to the idea of how Ike does one, but from his regular moveset.

But seriously, Dr. Mario is nothing without his Mega Vitamins. All those little things are exactly why Sakurai wanted him to be his own character instead of a simple costume. Nothing will satisfy me(or him apparently) outside of a different moveset. I don't even expect a costume of him outside of this, and I ain't expecting a moveset change, just the Doc not being playable in any way beyond hacking again.

Honestly, I'd never ever use the costume if it was a half-assed crap like that. Do it all the way by making him feel like the Doc, or don't bother.

And yes, he's definitely more than that. Every clone has different properties. Weight, how their moves work, different effects, speed, etc. No clone is exactly the same or extremely close. Pichu is the closest, and if it weren't for the fact he sometimes hits harder and that he hurt himself, well... yeah. Let's just say Mario and Luigi in 64 were the closest characters to being near identical than any other playable ones in the entire series. Maybe Jigglypuff and Kirby in 64 as well, but their specials weren't even semi-similar instead.

Anyway, I'm very negative about Dr. Mario being a poorly done palette swap. It's because, as I said, he was far more than that in Melee. He was a different character that shared the same animations, (with some exceptions obviously) but played quite a bit differently. That's what every clone was, same animation. Most of them play highly differently though. Which makes wanting for clones gone made out to be rather silly, honestly. If they don't play the same, it shouldn't matter if they have the same animations or not.

I laughed for days and days. I can't wait until the new adventure beings. And, though I doubt it, I feel like Sakurai's Dedenne picture was somehow in reference to our glorious experimental accomplishments.

I think Rare has went off the books mentioning that the DK in Donkey Kong (The one where you through barrels down the building) went on to be Cranky.

The direct sequel to Donkey Kong in the arcades you played as Donkey Kong jr. which is the DK we know in the DKC series and pals with Diddy. In DKC 2 Wrinkly Kong, is introduced to be Cranky's wife; in other words one could assume that Wrinkly is DK and Funky Kong's mother. It's all up in the air though.
