That's in the expansion pack.
The dialogue feels like it's something a 13 year old would come up with. I'm all for creative freedom and all, and a gritty or violent game can work just fine. But this is trying way, way, way too hard.

And you just know that this game will make so many news outlets all pissy over this and claim that the entire game industry is evil.

Hence the joke

IM 10 NOW YOU CANT TELL WHAT TO DO ANYMORE MOM
You're TEN?! What are you doing here then? Stop wasting your time and become a Pokemon Master. Everyone knows that ten year olds are the best trainers of them all.

I think the issue is that there's really no point. This is dark and edgy for the sake of being so. Once again, say what you want about games like CoD or GTA, but they at least tried to bring something else rather than mindless violence.

This game on the other hand took what they could have been and made it a reality. A boring, stupid reality.

Halo is not comparable to Grand Theft Auto.
Call of Duty is a better example.
My point is that they tried to be something.
If the point of Hated is to kill innocent civilians, then what's the point? It's not fun, and it only make you hate the protagonist more.

I feel like Hatred is a satirical joke that went over the heads of everyone.
It's irrelevant whether it was because they didn't get the joke or they thought it was stupid/in poor taste.

I'm part of the 'Control Pad fell off' group now. Ironic, taking my earlier statements about this in mind.

Yeah, I'd honestly have no problem with a lack of narrative. There's a boat load of games with little to no story in them. Mario and Tetris for example. But the ****storm that the media makes for games like GTA(a series with it's own merits)is already annoying as hell. And that series has a memorable story and characters each iteration. I know a lot of people want to see the media get "butthurt". But at this point, I'm just tired of it. And again, the dialogue the main character has is so generic, that a cardboard box could deliver a more convincing motive. But it was unintentionally hilarious.

We'll just have to wait and see.

I would like to think it's a joke. But I have my doubts. This is clearly the edgiest game of all time. You just wouldn't understand.

If it was a joke, then I wouldn't really be surprised.
Heck, when I was seeing the intro I was half-expecting an ironic twist.

I doubt it is meant to actually be a joke.

Mainly because of this;

Destructive Creations is an experienced indie team that, in times where a lot of games are heading to be polite, colorful, politically correct and trying to be some kind of higher art, rather than just an entertainment, wanted to create something against trends. Something different, something that could give the player a pure gaming pleasure. This is how the idea of Hatred – the team’s first game, was born.

Doesn't sound like the creators were going for a joke game, but instead something against the trends.
