They're pretty similar. XD changes some of the way Shadow Pokemon work and adds some opportunities to catch Pokemon normally.

Edit: Oh, and you play as a more traditional Pokemon protagonist.

I prefer Colosseum actually. Sure, the amount of Pokémon is limited, but I liked you're playing a criminal turned 'good' and the Cipher Admins have some basic competitive strategies.

Yes.
And it's basically a place that, if it was in a not kid-friendly game, would be a place where prostitutes and criminals galore.
But to answer your question, it's a place that is under Pyrite Town. They closed it between the events of Colosseum and XD, Nett and the others live in The Under in Colosseum. You learn about the other Shadow Pokémon that are left in the game there and you fight one of the Cipher Admins in that place.

Everyone's a Sonic fan when it comes to the Genesis games though, well except for the GBA port. And the bad ones from (around) that era, like 3D Blast, pretty much don't even exist.

No, Colosseum and XD have entirely different Admins and Leaders. Gonzap is the only villain who appears in both games. And Miror B, although he's a Cipher Admin in Colosseum.

The admins in Colosseum are totally different. The only Admin from Colosseum who returns for XD is Mirror B.

Yes, there's a couple bugs and a couple of annoying character storylines (oddly enough, Tails and Amy's storylines bother me more than Big and Gamma's), but if they brought the overall playstyle back it would be PERFECT.

I never got to play Colosseum or XD since I didn't own a Gamecube. I wish I did though, might play it via Dolphin some day. Would be nice if Genius Sorority developed a sequel or spiritual successor to the two games. Their last game was Pokémon Shuffle though.

Keep in mind, Cliff, that if you're ever able to play Colosseum, that it was made before Emerald and therefore 95% of the Shadow Pokémon were unavailable until that point. That's why the only Johto Pokémon without a Kanto-Pokémon in its family you can't catch in Colosseum are Lugia and Unown. And Celebi for non-Japanese players.

I think Sonic 3&K's a masterpiece, definitely my favorite. Yet...I liked Sonic Adventures 2 mainly for Shadow and I'm indifferent to '06(like most, I haven't played it). A pretty weird position to hold in the Sonic fanbase, lol.
I'm with you on the lack of nostalgia part. While I did see other people(cousins, siblings, etc.) play some of the older Sonic games, I didn't really play or get into it until quite recently, not counting the Advance games which are pretty neat but I haven't replayed them since so I dunno if they hold up.

Haven't played the first Adventures myself despite playing it's sequel tho, so no comment there. Sonic 1 is pretty good as an entry level sonic game but replaying it and I keep on jumping while crouching, if you know what I mean lol.

Back in the day, there was a "Pokémon XD for 3DS" fake leak, around 4 years ago. Kinda stupid but if they were to remake the game I would love more features. Like online.

The lack of wild Pokémon meant the games were challenging in some ways but of course your main objective was to catch all Shadow Pokémon and purify them.

I Think the recent hate for Sonic Adventure is because all the rereleases that came out for the game. Each subsequent rerelease of the game hasn't fixed many of the old issues from the Dreamcast version like collision detection and camera issues, nothing new is added to enhance the game in anyway from it's 1998/99 release. That's my understanding of the situation.

Meh, these people are in denial. They clearly haven't played the games. I like to think S3&K is the best of the original Mega Drive games, but that's more of a personal opinion.
