Fair enough (and I apologize for my little tirade).
But in that case, I'd say it's a bit too broad to say "things" in general. But to answer the question: no, I don't hate repetition. If fact, as you've implied, repetition is been a major factor in thought. That's how we get genres. And sure, jokes have been copied, they've been referenced, and some stand the test of time. One of my favorite examples is Monty Python. For something that's been referenced then and back, people still find laughter in it. And there's a good reason: because it's funny. Sure it's had its moments of rot, but I can still say there's some wit to it. There's timing, humor, and just enough weird that it all comes together.

The problem with memes is that it lacks that. Half the time it's its own joke; the humor comes from the elbowing "Get it? Get it?!". Oh sure I know of it, but that doesn't make it funny. Just because you say "EVO'S LEVELS R OVR 9000!!!!111!!" that doesn't make it comedy. Where's the wit? Where's the humor? At least give some damn meat to the meme.

I apparently missed some Pokémon fanfic thing. It sounded awesome.

How long ago did the last thread close? It's a shame. I was going to make this stupid YTP thing with the climax of the Steven Universe episode "Jail Break," with Shrek and Lanky fusing to form me, and me fighting Opossum.
