I don't mind 3rd parties being in Smash. We have a roster of 50+ characters. No reason to be against 3rd parties considering about 85% of the roster consists of Nintendo's.

No crying until the end. We hope that Microsoft finally decides to strike a deal with Sakurai just like how Square was alright with Cloud. You two are a great fit for Smash and your inclusion would make many people happy (especially those who grew up with an N64). Every cloud has their silver lining like someone would say.

Apparently the upcoming Smash direct in December's gonna be the last Smash-centered broadcast for this game. Before anyone gets their bees in a bonnet, this doesn't necessarily mean that after this there will be no more Smash DLC period.

I mean, yeah, Cloud breaks the mold in the fact that he has never been on a Nintendo console (Unless you count Theatrhythm Final Fantasy:Curtain Call), but he's still a video game character.
People claim that the possibilities are endless, but to me it's more like doors of possibility are open wide, not broken down.
There is still some portion of possibility that can't be touched.

I think Sakurai mentioned in an interview that he laughed when he saw many ballot requests for Goku and Spongebob but then reminded everyone that the character must have originated in a video game.

If Sakurai is going to fulfill a popular Miiverse request, I just feel Steve (Minecraft) is the likeliest choice of all

Well, I'm not denying the possibility, I just don't think Cloud's inclusion warrants people to actually think that "anything can happen."

Remember that Cloud technically has appeared on a Nintendo console, but he's really pushing the limits.

He's more associated with Sony than Nintendo though, and FFVII was the turning point for Final Fantasy becoming a Sony franchise even though the series had it's start on the NES and SNES.
But Nintendo clearly doesn't care so
