I was just messing with you, yo. Remember how Flight mentioned using
as a replacement for
/
. I was just using it as a mixup.
Wait, wait, wait.
So when you said this:
You were putting me down? That's not okay. What's even worse is you were doing it in such an offhand manner--your passive-aggressiveness disgusts me.
You know, comedy is done to entertain people. Comedians will say stupid things and make fools of themselves to make people laugh and be happy. I make these jokes to try to brighten up the days of the people on these boards--I don't appreciate you belittling my efforts. I'm disappointed that you take these so seriously that "making light of relationships or suggesting dishonesty" is a bad thing to do. Even if you don't find what I do funny, having this light conversation with the users here is very meaningful to me and I'd prefer if you kept your condescending remarks to yourself.
Don't mess around if you don't like getting messed up.
But, seriously, I'm serious about humor.
Please note, I don't indicate you specifically, which you may interpret at passive aggressive. That interpretation is inaccurate. Rest assured I don't mean you particularly. I don't know you well enough to make that judgement without reasonable doubts, it could be you just thought it interesting trivia and wanted to share it.
I was making a general statement about how I generally now interpret people who generally say those general types of yolks.
Regardless, there's nothing morally reprehensible about putting people or things or whatever down in general. Granted, of course, things should be put in charitable terms so that the opposite effect of the desired doesn't happen because of the audience's pride if they are the other in question or empathy for the other if not. We all need to be humbled or put down sometimes, save the saints.
Side note, tbh those three aren't interchangable imo. Troll face is transparent, more innocent, "I'm joking about this with you, joke with me." The smirking one feels haughty af, far more caustic or sarcastic and biting, and the
feels like a more playful version of that. That's why I like plain text :P because the upturned corners of the mouth are absent, it's more straightforward and less smug.
