The fact that they look identical is hardly a reason to call them ports.

Also, another proof, if they ported the model made for a 3D platform engine to work in a 2D engine, it would take A LOT of time to remake the 3D Model's skeleton (AKA Vectorial 3D Bones) to make it move withought any choppiness. So much in fact, that it would be easier to make them from scratch.

Oh... and you have yet to prove me wrong about the sword belt thingie being mirroered.

It's mirrored because the GCN and Wii versions are mirrored and they obviously used the unmirrored GCN version of Link for SSBB. Just look at the picture you used for the "gauntlet" example; it's the left-handed way, too, since that's from the GCN version.

Hmmm, Masahiro Sakurai is like 38 years old or something i wonder what he'll do once the game is over... I'm sure he won't leave the industry all together. Maybe he and Mr Kojima will run away together...

The pessimism on Smash Boards tends to get annoying.

Why can't it be pluasable that a good game can be developed quickly? Fighting games in general aren't that difficult to develop, unlike games a la Zelda. Those games requier huge amounts of landscape development, as well as character and story development.

I'm not saying that Fighting games don't requier time to develop, it simply isn't as difficult.

I LessThanThree this thread.:)

It's probably new hair.
They may have retextured it..
But why does the hair, sword, etc matter. 90% of the model can be ported to save time.

Oh and the model I have ripped from TP.. the hair is already separated from the head.

They can't mirror one thing and another not, the model would just **** up and move all funky...
Do you know anything about 3d modeling?

I've had experience with 3d modeling for ut2004 models.. The only time they get all funky is if you assign the bone structure incorrectly.

the hair? uh yeah they could mirror the hair differently from the model. The hair was separated from the model already.. It also wouldn't be that difficult for them to just remodel the hair on the head.
