SIMPLE Luigi Ladder is ON! (Update: NOT "ON" ANYMORE)

Just got back from my tourny. i was the only Luigi
first round i lost a close game to a top MK in my area and got destroyed by his DDD in the second game. please guys we need to find a way to stop his chain grab! that probably gave me a total of 150 damage!!!
first round of losers bracket I beat a Fox 2-0 quite easily
second round of losers bracket I two stocked a Marth twice.
third round of losers bracket I went up against a snake. first game he beat me in a close match. second game he picked G&W and lost. for the 3rd he went back to snake and i beat him
fourth round of losers bracket was against the best marth in dallas. hes the same guy who knocked my out of my first tourny! first game was really close. i had him down to his last stock but i just couldn't finish him. he came from behind and won that one. the second one was close too but i lost as well. during that match tho a crowd was gathering and people were saying things like "dude is that guy using a luigi?" "this luigi is awesome" "hey man come check out this match. this guy is using a luigi and owning!" and other things like that. that felt really good
a few things i took from this tourny. first of all i honestly saw at least 6 MKs mains and about 5 other people who used him as a secondary. there were also ALOT of DDDs. these two things are really bad news for luigis lol. also, as some of you guys know i play online alot, and that made me really fast offline. but that wasn't exactly a good thing for me. i didn't warm up and hopped into my first game. i was moving so fast i literally couldn't keep up with myself lol. so if you go to a tourny and play online alot make sure you properly warm up and get used to the speed!
all in all a good experience. my goal was to rep luigi and i think i did a pretty good job. looking forward to other tournys

The only Luigi. I have to hand it to you. Sucks your first match was against a DDD and MK. Just like Brawl's ATs are more character specific, so is improving a character's metagame. When we find strategies and ATs to counter DDD, ICs, and perhaps Marth, Luigi will be golden.
Congrats on a fine job in the tourney. Those people will pay closer attention to Luigi now.

As of this post, I'll be on a 3 day vacation in Mexico. I'm taking my laptop, but I don't know if I will get any connections over there. There might be days when I can't update the Ladder. One thing's for sure... I won't have my Wii... so no online games for me. I'll be back on Wednesday at the latest.

i'm home all day today if anyone wants to play. also a quick question: how do you green missle to instantly grab the edge while recovering? I've seen many of you guys do it but i don't know how lol :D

u can sweet spot it yes. takes some practice as the aimin will take a cuple of shots to get used to

Don't expect to improve if you aren't willing to play higher skilled players.
Seriously though, it's a great way to learn and no one is going to look down on you for not being as skilled, we are all learning and we should all be trying to encourage others in this aspect.

honestly before this ladder i hadn't played played against any other good luigis so everything i know i discovered on my own/taught myself. but now that i'm playing against you guys i'm learning alot more things that i missed, such as that green missle grab that would of been extremely useful when i played against that marth in my tourny lol
