Similar playstyles

Now, we all know there are clones of characters in melee. Marth/Roy, Pikachu/pichu, ganon/falcon, fox/faco, mario/dr.mario, etc. However, we also know that certain clones (ganon/falcon are a good example) have almost completely different playstyles.

Now let's go back to good ole Melee. Say a player wants to pick up an alternate character, but they don't want to play a completely different experience; they want things to be somewhat familiar.

So I ask the smash community this: which characters have similar playstyles?

Some that I was thinking of...
zelda/jiggs. Both are floaties that rely on good side-aerials and mindgames. (Note, when i say "similar playstyles," I don't mean "similar effectiveness")

falcon, fox, shiek. Go ahead, come at me, but all three are fast, medium-heavy (cept fox), stick low to the ground, and rely on the same, repetitive combos leading up to the same kill move. (knee, upsmash, fair; respectively)

Marth/Ganon. Spacing, spacing, spacing. Whether it be the tip of the sword or the end of the fair, both characters rely HEAVILY on spacing. Also, they both have a great ledge gaurd - they knock you off the stage and you don't come back.

Link/Samus. Obligatory mention here. The King and Queen of campy projectile bull****, as well as game-breaking recovery bull****.

you can play falco like fox in many different ways really there are many ways to play this game.

really both could camp you hard, and movement camping is also pretty abusable as both. DD bait attack works well for both.

I think the hard thing with this is that you can play characters differently, characters can have a different style depending on who's playing them.

That said, I'd go with Doc and Samus. Approaches with projectiles, main points are to space and punish enemy approaches well.

I don't know If you compared fox to pichu for me basic DD nair around. I feel like I can't really spam fox's nair NEARLY as safely as pichu's even if it's a bit faster and more range. But catuar argee to about pichu's being safer if you're smart. As fox I feel I need to bait harder with lasers and junk So I can't really copy and paste comfortly. Really I feel my link and falco are closer because as link i'll basically stay back till I can ge a bomb and a boomrange out and then start to lock them down with projectiles and nairs.

an as flaco I like to stay back a bit till I get a decent understand with a few lasers and then lock them down. I don't know maybe it's just my brother being badish. : P

Every character plays different in this game. What is different about them varies from player to player, I can play fox vs another fox and we will play totally different styles because we are different people.

pikachu and pichu may play alike n some ways but Really the small differences mess with the people who main them I find pikachu to slow, weak defence, to fat, easy edge gaurd/recovery, crappy grabs, abusive range.

as pikachu people may not like pichu because he's to slow(recovery), not even notice the speed jump/sheild being useable/more flexible recovery, they may also worry a lot about self-damage and hits and them being a little more aggesive would make them lose fast also range would anger them.

Pichu players playing as pikachu would most likly be to defencive thinking OMG jolts are spamable and pikachu players would get f***ed up for trying to rush them.
