Hey Melee Peach Boards,

My name is Kyle and I go by Silly Kyle in the competitive community. I am trying to become the next big Peach player and I need advice on things I should do to get better.

I mostly watch Armada videos because he is my favorite Peach player and he is the best in the world with her. I try to emulate some of the things he does and I have learned many new tricks because of him.

However, I need a lot of help to become better. I hope you guys can point out some of the things I do well and the things I do poorly, so I can improve on the good and drop the bad habits. Lately I have been seeing a lot of growth in my playstyle and skill every month that passes by. It's really exciting and I can't wait until I can start traveling to compete in different regions! :-)

Here are some videos of me:

2/27/10

Silly Kyle (Peach) vs. Yeah! (Fox)
Match #1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W9dyhdMd3lU
Match #2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uEvE2np5las&feature=related
Match #3 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPqb2umXNuc&feature=related

I got 7th place out of 17 at this tournament. I lost to Wobbles first round, and then I lost to Yeah! in the loser's bracket.

Round 1:
Silly Kyle (Peach) vs. Forward (Fox)

Match #2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2q8FBiWBA4&feature=related

Loser's Quarterfinals -
Silly Kyle (Peach) vs. GamerGuitarist7
Match #1 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdPypvh8dds
Match #2 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDsd9vObxRU&feature=related (I promise I'm better than this now! Lol)

I got 5th place at this tournament.

I'm #8 in Tucson, however, I will be moving up to spot #4 or #5 most likely when the next update occurs. I'm not consider top 10 in Arizona as a whole, but hopefully with a little help and practice in the coming months will help me move up. My Peach is starting to wavedash now and I'm really excited to see her progress in the near future.

I'm also a competitive Peach player in Brawl. I'm Power Ranked at #9 in Arizona's top 10, and #1 in Tucson, AZ.

cping you to Mute at a MDZ tourney
The first thing I noticed is in the first match when you spawn, you go right for the Irish Mafia approach, aka being a ****** and trying to poke them with the dash attack at zero. That hitbox is useful in pushing them off the ledge and ledgeguarding, but not approaching. Later it can be used to knock them over, but it's just asking to be punished at zero.
Your evasive tech skill seems up to par, you have good SDI and didn't get usmashed too much. The drillshine bit made me facepalm, though.
You seem a bit too confined moveset-wise. Only using Dash attack, FC fair, and grabs isn't a good habit. None the less, you played the first match effectively. The outstanding problem I see is you did not capitalize on your opponents techs. If they fall over, this is an opportunity to hit them. Hitting them is an opportunity to set up a ledgeguard. A ledgeguard is an opportunity to kill.
I'll watch more of it later.

Hey, nice Peach. You've clearly been watching your Armada vids. :) Please keep working on her! My three suggestions:

1. Develop your WD OoS (it seems like that's your plan already, though).
2. Pull more turnips.
3. Quit Brawl and devote the extra time to Melee. ^^

And I guess I second what Irish Mafia said about the dash attack, although it's really not that big a problem in your most recent vids. I'm totally guilty of it myself.

Good things I noticed: you go for the ledgehog exactly when you need to instead of trying to do dumb ****. You're developing your combos pretty well, and nice use of uair.

Just keep it up!
