And no..... this isn't about shorthop/fastfall/L-Cancel...

Im talking about the hardstyle dance.....

I wanted to see if any shufflers came onto SWF, and if your new to shuffling...this is the place...

I have vids to show, both of my crew and of some well known shufflers....

My crew:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oc1fkZZJXuQ&feature=channel_page (Bad quality)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVoyGkeagYc&feature=channel (this one is just of me)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFVylqo_gdE (LATEST CREW VID! IT'LL BLOW YOUR MIND!)

You probably noticed my crew name, which is Wave Dash Team... I feel like a nerd, but it is referenced by melee's wave dashing.... I came up with the name because wave dashing sort of looks like shuffling ^-^

Shuffling vids:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ymU7N5i-P7Q&feature=related
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2a_wIQT5ePk&feature=related

So any one wants to post their favorite shuffle videos, or talk about shuffling in general.... Please post...

there seems to be 2 predominant styles here: oldskool and hardstyle - hardstyle is a lot harder to pull of without looking dorky cus its so dramatic but you just need tech skill and style

like this:

and this guy is one of my favourite oldskool shufflers ever, my friend showed me and i first got interested many years ago when everyone wore butt ugly phats (and still do):

I've always thought that this was a cool type of dancing. Not as entusiastic about it as you are though lol. I'm more chill about it.

shuffling is easy, but isnt shuffling just a part of c walking??
Every one that i've met one the street approaching me saying its easy...i teach them the basics right there and they never get it down..its hard and it takes time to get good.... and no... shuffling isn't part of c(ock) walking..... cousins maybe...

I like to think that i shuffle hardstyle as it uses the running man and both the t-step.... old skool is just all t-step...i can't just do all T-step =p I'd like to add this to the OP if you wouldn't mind...

I would also like to add that shuffling is just about the dorkiest looking dance style I have ever seen :p
hey hey hey.... its my passion...lol

Shuffling, it's pretty cool doing it to some hardstyle music but it ain't anything compared to liquid dancing, search for some big name like LPeric and it will blow you ming, the main difference between waving and liquiding is that wavin is in your body and liquiding outside sour body i would say. what you think about liquiding guys?

It looks like you're just sliding around and lifting your feet...
The sliding part is just an illusion.....shuffling doesn't literally slide.... if you watch directly at the feet, you'll understand... but there are some people that take it to the next level...

Okay, Duals. There's a few things you should know about The Melbourne Shuffle.

What you are currently referring to is Hardstyling, a brute-chopped, morally massacred version of the Melbourne Shuffle. If you knew anything, you'd know the the Melbourne Shuffle is a TWO STEP DANCE, meant to be done to music that ISN'T hardstyle. Hardstyle was not developed for shuffling, it was a derivative of Hardcore with a slowed down bassline and much more epic/melodic climaxes.

Second of all, crews are stupid. Why have a crew. Why have shuffle battles? All of this crew and battle nonsense started because of hardstylers. Shuffling should be done and enjoyed without competition and for love of music, like any dance.

Third, "old-schooling" (LOLOLOLOL), isn't called old-schooling. That's called SHUFFLING. And it doesn't have to be all T-step. Integration of the running man is widely accepted. So, do you have the idea yet? What your calling old-school is actually called shuffling, and what you're calling shuffling is actually Hardstyling. lern2lern.

To comment on your videos, you're lifting up your heel whilst doing the running man. Don't. Also, if you insist on hardstyling, make it look more aggressive. Lift your knees up higher, don't stomp, but forcefully place your foot on the ground. Hardstyling is essentially running man running man running man, which isn't even an actually move original to the general dance, so make sure that when you are doing the rm, you're mixing it up with spins, transitions, kicks, etc. You're very, very repetitive. Fix it. Also, Be sure to make your T-shuffles more pronounced and again, more aggressive. Begin to incorporate more aggressive arm movements. Right now it looks like your arms are doing the real melbourne shuffle, god forbid.

I know this.... Hardstyle is a genre of music.... Its that other people don't know it...I've had many come up to and say "hey, nice hardstylin" drives me crazy...

The reason why I have a crew is because out of pure boredom..... Where I'm from, nothing interesting is going on.... All my friends got into shuffling so what would we naturally do? Its just for fun and sorry if it insults you, but we love that fact we can identify ourselves as a team.... And about competition... Im not looking for battles or winning.... The same can be applied to Smash... why have crews and battle?

Maybe I do have the two mixed up... and i apologize for the mix up, but it'd be great if you wouldn't get in my face about it.....

On my shuffling...I do it the style i want... I appreciate the critique, but your all wrong about how i present myself... Given, Im very repetitive, but I have to say i mix it up all lot more than most shufflers i see who just never think out side the box...... but hey...at least they're not lifting their heel, right?

that aint dancing though, sall tricks no style - go join a circus
Funny story!

That's what me and my friends said when we saw shuffling!

Don't go dissing other people's dance just because it's not your cup of tea. I'll admit that the style in that video seemed really... gimmicky, but who are you to say it isn't dance?

Shuffling always seems interesting, but never enough for me to want to learn it. The sliding effect is always cool, but the upper body bugs me. It always looks like it's just along for the ride and not directly involved in the dance. It never looks like there's much room for creativity.

I liked the part where you Sort-hop/forward-aireal/Fast-fall/L-canceled and wveshined across FD, ending in a moon-walk/double-lazer/jump-canceled-shine.

Oh, and I also liked the shuffle dancing too.

I shuffle with Accelerate on occasion
: O

But he's all hardstyle. I'm just a shuffler as Fastfox put it. Shuffled at New Years, I probably wouldn't have normally, but the right music was in the air, and I had the right alcohol in the blood. lol. I hadn't done so in a LONG time, but it's easy enough to get back into.

I love melbourne shuffling to hardstyle, I don't participate in any competions I just dance because I love hardstyle but, it is true it did not originate from hardstyle, It's a pretty old dance If I recall that has some orgins in Ireland or the Irish jig or somthing I think don't quote me on this. The earlier music before hardstyle was some house I think or Acid house I could be totally wrong though.
