Oh.

Oh My Goodness. I feel....words can't express how atrociously sad I am for the people who went through this...

Authorites report that a gunman opened fire inside of a lecture hall, shooting 18 people before reportedly taking his own life. Conditions of the 18 people are currently unknown. THIS is life people. This is tragic.

Let's pray for the safety and health of anyone who went through this horrific ordeal

:( Our thoughts are with you, Northern Illinois...

WTF is with this stuff at unis. I can kinda understand High and Middle Schools where there is a lot of bullying and all that leading to crazy emo ****, but a university?

It does not scare me in the least but I know that a lot of people have a much higher tendency to paranoia than myself and scared from **** on national news. I REAAALLLLY don't want to have to go through security to enter a uni building. I would like to have an open campus.

Obama will probably give some sort of statement on this since it's in his constituency.

Please mods have a bit of mercy on me. My browser did this, and I'm not really sure why. I only pressed reply once and it responded pretty quickly.

I still don't understand how people think killing someone will help with their problems. I never heard of a bully problem in college so I don't know. School shootings are ******** they shouldn't happen people should just express their anger through dance.

I go to NIU. I was walking back to my dorm at 3:05 after getting out of a Geology lab. On the way back, I saw crowds of people and more police and other authority vehicles in one place than I ever have. I asked somebody there, another student, what was going on. He said "Dude, somebody just shot up Cole."

I couldn't believe it. When I got back up to my dorm, everybody on the floor was watching the movie. One person on my floor was in the class room, and she was really shaken up. Somebody who hangs out in our building alot was shot twice in the leg, and once in the arm.

Why somebody would do this is un imagineable. They must have never felt love for or from anybody, to be able to do to the families of these victims what he did. As of now, our community is in mourning. I came home, as most students did. I've been following the news though

I have three classes in Cole. It's going to be weird knowing where i sit and where my teacher stands could be where the blood was mopped up.

I have experienced a tradgedy today. It's a terrible feeling, and I hope nobody ever has to go through something like that again.

Why some psycopathic killer had to do this, i'll never know.

Six people including the gunman are now dead. And their families and friends will never see their smiling faces again. They will only see them to put them in the ground.

a total of 18 (some report 22) were injured or killed.

i continue to pray for myself, the victims, the families and friends of the victims and the gunman, and the entire NIU community to get through this, and that nothing like it happens again.

This kind of stuff is so sad to hear =\ And it sucks that the gun man always shoots himself, so you never really find out why he did what he did.

Hope you're doing ok, Dr. Claw. My heart goes out to everyone there, and the families of the victim. No one should lose their kid in such a way.

These people make me sick. It looks like a lot of those people that were killed were nice people as well. One or two of them looked to be music students, just like me. :(

Of course, I'm no where near Norther Illinois, but I still find it very saddening.

I don't know why people have to make such a big scene out of killing themselves. It is the worst kind of attention seeking, and if there is a hell, I hope he's there.

He bought the guns and lived in Champaign IL, which is where I live, kind of creepy. It's very sad to see that this sort of thing is becoming more and more frequent now. My thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims.

Americans have put themselves in a terrible position.

The right to bear arms is written in the constitution. That effectively means now that every single household can and usually does hold a gun.

If the US was to say "No more guns" then the criminals wouldn't had them in and people would still want guns to defend there homes from said criminals.

On the other hand. Anyone and i mean ANYONE can get there hands on a gun in america. I live in the UK and i wouldn't no where to begin getting one.

It really is appaling that in the "greatest country in the world" you send your kids to school never knowing whether some crazed idiot is going to end there life.

The solution? There isn't one, not a real one anyway. All schools need to hire alot of security staff, use metal detectors at all school entrances and pay more attention to the psychological welfare of there students.

God**** it. It's just suicide bombing but without any religous or political motive (not that i'm justifying that AT ALL), what a world we live in.

And do not give me that ''It was 15 people Mr.Duo'' crap, I'm really do not know where is this sorrow coming from... If it exists, it will be used. How about a Gun Bun for America? It's already 100 years overdue >_>

There are larger injustices in this world...

EDIT = Lookin' back this seemed rude, but hey, I'm looking out for the greater good.

The beauty of me being a Christian and loving everyone Mr. Duo, is that I'm just as concerned with the small injustices as I am with the large. I don't want to make this a topic about religion, since topic hijacking is against the rules. I just wanted to say, the greater good argument is just ridiculous.

How can you denounce a million deaths as evil if you cannot denounce one if it is for the greater good? Morality comes from somewhere, and you cannot say a mass murder of everyone of a certain race/color/creed/religion/place/whatever is wrong if your "morality" allows you to believe that something like this might be for the greater good, or that ANY injustice is small. Injustice is injustice, evil is evil. If you think that some things aren't evil in certain circumstances, lets have an example. Lets say that my life depended on me killing you, would you denounce that as evil from my point of view? If so, lets hear no more of this greater good or small injustices thing.

Let us mourn this tragedy just as we would a "greater" tragedy.

Nice Marylin Manson quote thar, DuplexDuo(I don't know if MM took that quote from anyone).

I'm sad for any type of injustice. Some people don't feel sorrow for people they don't know, some people do. Yes, there are greater injustices going on, even to people who are still alive, but it doesn't mean anyone else's pain is any less meaningful.

Are you dense?

It's such a tragedy because these things should not happen on a college campus in America. What happens in other parts of the world where there's war and strife, is also tragic, but at the same time, has come to be expected.

When it happens at a place of education in a first world country, it hits us that much harder.
