Kary's case predominantly highlights a clash of ideologies.
Kary is more or less making a claim that no town player would suggest to lynch themselves because it's just plain stupid; "a townie should be trying to keep themselves alive while attempting to find scum". They are, in turn, suggesting that I am trying to make myself look good with no follow-up.
However, this is where Kary and I differentiate in terms of ideological play. While Kary believes that self-preservation is ideal and the most sensible in mafia, I believe that, sometimes, sacrifices must be made to progress the game, and I will do it at any cost when it is clear that the game is at a standstill. I will forego my sociopolitical standing if it means breaking open the story and narrowing down the avenues of approach. I will inevitably become a magnet, but that magnet will draw actions, stances, and opinions from other players, and will bring us closer to discovering who the Mafia are.
I understand that, sometimes, a price must be paid to achieve results in Mafia. If I must make sacrifices, then I will willingly do it if it means we are closer to securing the win.
That is how I play Mafia.
Much of the crowd was not getting their hands dirty and did not want to vote. This is not exclusive to a particular group, just a generality in our midst.
With no content being produced and no major actions being taken, I took it into my own hands and riled some people up. In turn, a lot of content was generated, and votes were placed. Scrutiny was applied. Things are now a lot less foggy.
I won't say that what Kary suggests is impossible, but believe what you will. It's up to you all to decide what the more likely scenario is and act accordingly.
Kary tries to reinforce the scumDulL perspective by stating that I am not aware of who all the players are based on my mistake that I thought Shish was in the game. From a third eye, I feel that this is a reasonable mistake to make with 19 players in the game and Shish posting at least once in it recently.
