That's just my personal most likely bias intake on the match up.

I think sheik ability to make snake approach, her outrageous strings, juggling potential, abilities to punish snake attacks, character specific safe on shield option (dtilt), counter pick options, and funny enough zone game, sways the match enough in sheik favor that Sheik counter snake. Sure I haven't fought ally and even if I do odds are he would beat me because he's a better player but from what I've fought offline and online(snake is harder online even if you can't see the lag) snake does not counter sheik.

I wouldn't be surprise if once snakes learn the match up better it could go even but it will never be in snake favor...unless you switch to zelda >.< or if you don't punish with dacus.

Snake is definitely better online imo. I think the pure fact that with about 4-5 moves, we are dead or close to dead. If he down grab chases us twice, ftilts us twice, then uptilt we are almost dead or dead. I can see it even at best since we can rack up damage, but the only way we can kill him really if he doesn't make a mistake, is if he recovers low and we can kill him with nair or fair offstage. My opinion

I dont think the snake matchup is that close. By snakes sheer weight class we have to outplay him about 4 times more then he has to outplay us. His Ftilt if spaced right is safe on shield and no matter how crazy our strings are snake shouldnt be dying until about 160 -170. Because gimping snake requires us to hit him about 6 times in a row offstage.

screw X5:X5 ratios

MK: 4/6 his air game and ground game are stronger than ours, he can edge gaurd us very well. We have needles and mind games :/ a kill out of grab at low percents
Snake: 5/5 we reck him but have trouble killing. we die low.
Wario: 6/4 an easy grab release to kil,l needles
Falco: 6/4 ftilt lock to high percents/kills, watch out for his chain grab
Diddy Kong: 5/5 bananas ****. still though ftilt and aerial strings. easier to gimp
King Dedede: 6/4 no chain grab, needles wreck waddle toss, ftilts and areial strings since he is too slow to do anything to escape. ftilt usmash window is huge. zelda for kills.
Marth: 5/5 needles, dtilt > his appoaches, baiting upB
Mr. Game & Watch: 5/5 I used to think it was his favor but needles wreck this mostly aerial character. his aerials come out purty slow too so aerial strings are pretty beast on him. kill with uair and usmash.
Pikachu: 4/6 zelda early, sheik mid percents, Grab release to kill, Easy to camp. chain throws us from 0-100+
Olimar: 4/6 we can combo him, he can combo us. We edge guard/gimp him hard, he kills us at low percents, we out camp him, kill throw
Ice Climbers: 4-6 screw up spacing you die. single climber dthrow lock till 60%, easy to gimp
R.O.B.: 4/6 I get wrecked by robs...
Kirby: 5/5 kirby is a little ball of ****, we out speed him so run and wait and bait. he fast but laggy so take your time and punish. ftilt low and aerial strings here too
Lucario: 4/6 hard to kill, is lucario, kill throw
ZSS: 4/6 run away needle.
Toon Link: 6/4 combos, needles
Pit: 5/5 hard to kill, hard to gimp, hard to combo. these are true for him versus us though too...
Donkey Kong: 5/5 hard to gimp, very hard, hard to kill, kills use low punishes mistakes huge
Peach: 4/6 float, fair, dair, nair, jab. chain grab, true combo for low percents to 50, hard to kill.
Luigi: 4/6 hard to sheild presure, nair, upB kills low. good recovery options. hard to kill. (watch polmex at winterfest
Fox: 7/3 ftilt lock->death, easy to gimp
Wolf: 6/4 ftilt lock->high percents, hard to kill. great projeclitle, kills low. easy to gimp
Sonic: 7/3 no kill options, stupid, needles wreck, wait for him to jump into your sheild with his no range 1 dimensional approaches.
Sheik: 12/-2 stupid.
Bowser: 6/4 needles WRECK, just run away the whole match. hard to kill
Zelda: 7/3 just run away the whole match. zelda has NO approach options, a horrible aerial game
Squirtle: 40-60 kill throw... fast mobile little thing
Charizard: 6/4 watch out for rock smash though rock smash has a 10-0 match up against sheilk
Ivysaur: 6/4
Ike: 6/4
Lucas: 6/4
Mario: 6/4
Ness: 6/4
Yoshi: 6/4
Samus: no clue

And I really do wish sonic was 7/3 but after playing top notch sonics for all of my brawl life span I think we only go even.

I'm pretty sure 3 was talking about Squirtle's dthrow.

Sonic is a dumb matchup that really tries your patience and you need to be really on point or you'll lose. I think it could maybe be in Sheiks favor by a bit but as of now I haven't played well enough to call the matchup more than even.

we do have a kill out of grab on squirts, but he is hard to grab if he spaces well (think wario to a slightly lesser degree). needles are more difficult to use in the match up too because of squirtles aerial movement speed. he can punish a predicted needle storm similar to how jiggs and wolf would.

lucily he has to approach you regardless because he has no projectiles... just try and play safe needle on landings (when he used his Double jump already) instead of trying to predict where he is close enough to punish.
