SFU Smash Tournaments - Burnaby BC, May 31st + June 7th - 64/Melee/Brawl

Tournaments are seperated into two different weekends, both on Saturday. Doubles will be played before singles with the exception on June 7th. The registration begin as early as 10:00 and the doubles will start NO LATER than 11:00, follow by singles. There will be a pizza break, pizza is at a cost of $5.


May 31st

Events:
- SSB Brawl Singles + Doubles
- SSB 64 Singles and Possibly Doubles

Brawl Singles - $10/player, best of 3, 3 stocks no item, Pot % 60/30/10.
Brawl Doubles - $10/team, best of 3, 3 stocks no item, Pot % 60/30/10.
SSB64 Doubles - $6 / team, best of 3, 5 stocks no item. Pot % 80/20
SSB64 Singles - $5 / player, best of 3, 5 stocks no item. Pot % 70/20/10. - Entrants get free pizza


June 7th

Events: (Melee Doubles + Brawl Singles start together at 11:00 AM, I WILL PERSONALLY ENFORCE THIS RULE, so DO NOT BE LATE)
- SSB Melee Singles + Doubles + SSBM Low Tiers
- SSB Brawl Singles

Melee Singles - $10/player, best of 3, 4 stocks no item, time 8 minutes. Pot % 60/30/10. - Entrants receive pizza at half cost
Melee Doubles - $10/team, best of 3, 4 stocks no item, time 8 minutes. Pot % 60/30/10.
Melee LowTiers - $5/player, best of 3, 4 stocks no item, time 8 minutes. Pot % 60/30/10.
Brawl Singles - $10/player, best of 3, 3 stocks no item, Pot % 60/30/10.


All singles are seeded randomly, double elimination.
All doubles are seeded randomly, double elimination.
Semis' and Loser's final are best of 5, all finals best of 5.


Rules:
- Stage / Character counterpick rule, all match starts off with a neutral stage.
- If the game was ever to freeze, the match will be restarted despite the remaining stocks of both players, unless there was a clear winner.
- Stages banned for 64 are Yoshi's Island, Saffron City and Mushroom Kingdom due to cloud, piller and edge camp.
- For Melee and Brawl, I'll leave it to the veteran.. all the regulars, banned stages, bug abuse etc... (rules will be from the 1st page of BC Canada Thread, the standards)
- For all doubles, team attack is ON and life stealing is allowed.

Map/ Directions:
Skytrain to Production Way station, take bus #145.





Tournament will take place in engineering lounge just like all the other time.


Misc:
Controller mods that alter control/button sensitivity are not allowed what so ever.
Controller mods that change its cosmetics (Color/Plastic casing) or anything exterior of the like are allowed.
Changing cosmetics will not affect a players ability to play smash and the match will still be on even playing fields.

Controllers will be provided for SSB64. It is required to bring a controller for yourself if participating in Melee/Brawl. Please help me by bringing extra TV/Melee/Brawl setups for the tourney.

As side notice, it seems to have a lot of people coming, and our place ain't big. For Eric's reason, I will not cap the number of players. BUT be sure to know that if the place ever gets too full, and there are random people showing up just to watch (not posted on smashboard), I will have to ask some people to stay outside and wait for room.

Once more, PLEASE help me with melee+brawl setups, let me know as early as possible of how many TVs + GC / Wii we can get, thank you. Note: I will force to cancel some events if we don't have enough TVs/ setups, so HELP OUT!

I know I'll be 'the new guy' but what the heck, I'll sign up for both Saturdays. :)

I can bring a TV to help out with for setup, got a 27". As for Melee/Brawl copies, uncertain as of yet.

Hey jack, I'll be bringing my gc on june 7th as well. Since evan can't make the tournament I'll have no way of getting my tv up to sfu, sorry.

if I go on may 31st I'll also be bringing my wii

well what i could do for matt was that carry his TV since hes lazy and not thinking of doing it. i would get his TV from his home to SFU maybe like on friday orsomething, and leave it overnight. then on maybe monday after classes i would carry it back to his house again, real pain in the ***.

Yeah but matts tv is wwaaayy smaller and lighter than mine. If I had a tv matts size I would carry it over there but I can't : [

Il probably come for the brawl 31st tourny if i can get a ride i can bring a crappy tv that is slowly dieing everytime i go to sfu (its lost some plasitic every time ive taken it to sfu)
