No. Not a one of us smashed saturday. I went home and did some ****. Nate wasnt trying to go when I called and asked him on friday and otto was thinkin about it. He hit me up about the smashfest on friday and then never hit me up again about coming.

You never said Ka was there until after the tourney which I think would have swayed a couple people.

It takes like 40 minutes to get to sylers from the dub not 15. and its not like you bus 3 hours and then 3 back. You stay in seattle for like 4 days so thats like 15:1 which doesnt really matter but at least its true. lol.

which canadians came? cuz daltsy hit me up and said he couldnt make it so I assumed liverymen didnt go either so really most of our incentive to go was gone.

yeah they were good until i tried to go change the match up to an obvious failure... i need to learn a few moves with my space animals i couldnt keep up with you, im trying to learn to waveshine but its alot harder then i thought

im down to smash your the only closest player here, i can bring by the marth player to if you wana spar vs him as well everyone had an even match against him

Trust me Im all for expanding the scene. Thats what Im all about. I mean there are always factors about goin to a tourney that may make you want to go more. You dont want to go to grunt's even if u had a ride. We dont need OOS presence cuz that leave WA totally ****ed and isnt an incentive for OOS to come.

Most of Uw was like they had some more valuable things to do with their time. Cuz they have other obligations like school and work.

We could get into the arguement about why GC isnt big and bottom line its cuz ppl dont go. But yea, most ppl werent down to go to a small melee tourney to play with a couple of ppl we play with alot. (combo status) with the exception of ka and teddy. They tend to come to UW anyway. Plus brawl was around hella. Not trying to bag on brawl atm but just thats its an obstacle and gets in the way.

Id like to make GC the big tourney event that everyone goes to once a month

There were like 10 people in the melee bracket and like 7 of them were exclusively there for Melee.

GC Guy will accomodate melee players if they actually come, but you guys are dumb and have it in your mind that hes all about Brawl. If theres a REASON to give us more Melee setups, he will. If theres 8 people hes not gonna give us more than 2 setups cuz he has an actually important and lucrative tournament to run.

I Was only generalizing the group. Some had unmovable stuff to do others had stuff that they could postpone. It was alot easier to just say that we have stuff to do. Just I was saying that certain ppl appear at our local tourneys on a rarer occasion like oos and less active members.

I was never told Ka was coming. It really depends on who you tell cuz some ppl wont pass along the info.

@C!Z- Im not one of them but some ppl at uw do prefer more localized competition. Id like for us as a crew to be more active and travel to tourneys as a group but some like the game but arent as competitive as you (shane/C!Z) thought. Smash just isnt as high up on some of thier lists so cant really **** wit em for it. We had 7 ppl goin and then one guy backed out and then another. Then I forgot that I have to deal with the 500$ in tickets I got in the past 3 weeks. so I gotta schedule court dates and stuff to see if I can get them lowered.

And who did I say was in the wrong? I just said that some of us had **** to do or werent coming for whatever reason. I dont know what those reasons are and how long they take. I just know that exceptions or alternate plans may have been made for oos or something. It seemed like after dieslow and blunted object said they werent coming then ppl had less interest in goin.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with promoting a tourney even if you dont plan to attend. It only helps the tourney out and makes it better if more ppl go. I was planning on goin but I had to do something last minute. The rest I dont know what commitment that they made to goin or what they had goin. I just know they said friday like around 7 they werent goin. Ppl just backed out one by one. Even tho I planned on goin and wanted to I only gave a maybe. Never did I confirm my status for going.

Especially this friday, i doubt there will be any smash fest at all at our place because the majority of us are going to sakuracon friday and probably won't be back until late.

lol i like how fredo's thread is turning in to a discussion about the wa smash scene. Let me just throw in my two cents:

Firstly, the thing that prevents us from coming to tournies and regular gc is the fact that we have other things to do. Smash isn't an obligation for us and other things in our lives take priority over smash, just simple as that. That being said, it's not like we dont want to get better, it's just hard for some of us to balance the want to getter with school/work etc.

C!Z, most of us prefer competitive smash. We go to tournaments when we can, but to say that we prefer friendly over competitive smash is incorrect - i think it's relative.

Shane, all of us know that there is always a melee tourny at gc and that the reason they aren't big is because people don't go. We're not dumb -_-.

Only thing that irritates me is that it just seems like we get criticized for not going to EVERY tournament. Like i said before, we go to the ones when can, hope you can understand.
