Tink/AC technically threw out the idea...so I think we're down the list aways.

This should be done by major crew, not by state. SHEP and the Ship are both in IN - who decides who gets to be the IN rep? Maybe by crew isn't the solution, but by state doesn't seem like a good idea.

I'm not at all interested in being on such a panel, so if Prime and Iggy don't want in then I guess it doesn't matter anyway ^_^

This seems like just the kind of thing Tim would want to do, right???

If it is indeed the case that the acronym words have changed, then great!

Can't speak for AOB, but some of us know people who have been terribly affected by ****/domestic violence. It's not like we're telling you to change it. You have your opinion, we have ours, we have the right to be offended at yours, and you have the right to be offended at ours.

Misunderstanding or not, alternate meaning or not, words still mean something. Again if it's changed, then never mind.

Probably should not have this debate in this thread though.

You Guys Have No Idea What You're Talking About. I wouldn't expect it'd be something the MW would understand. O_o
lol we understand.........we understand you have Mike Nasty in your crew............we understand you have clod-zero in your crew.........we understand that you have people who actually spend time photoshoping smash images to make them look "hardcore".........

Most people don't even know what it really stands for. DBR doesn't stand for anything anymore. The acronym has transcended it's own meaning.
yes........................its an acronym that now stands for "WTF IS DI!!!??????"

for example this weekend i got into a combo by crashman because i didnt di and all i said is "DBR!!!!!"

I don't like it because DBR was a bunch of guys taking themselves too seriously and trying to be badasses with a needlessly vulgar crew name and silly pictures and 45 minute music videos.
If it doesn't stand for anything anymore, that's great.

Probably get something like one panelist from each active state, them being OH, IN, IL, MI, WI/MN, and KY. If Missouri wants in don't see a problem with that either. Not sure how often it would be needed, once per quarter?
no nebraska panel, krusty shmash :( birches need luv 2

But MO is really only darkrain and St Louis, right? And most of darkrain's buddies live in KS.

And... yeah, NE exists too.

Sooooooo now that Power Rankings are allowed how are we going to decide on a panel. And how far is the list going to go.

Personally I don't think we need one seeing that every tournament someone different wins, proving that we all are on specific tier level but not individual ranks.

Meh, I think Squared is actually right in that each sub-region/crew should have a ballot, even Nebraska (you know we love you!). Being in the national ballot system I know how to run such things, so whoever wants to run it I have some suggestions as far as secret balloting, etc.

Heck, I'd run it and not have a ballot since it looks like Iggy wants the Ship ballot. Up to whoever.

Early list of crews that get a ballot:
EDIT - started putting in people
Ship - Iggy, KishSquared, KishPrime
SHEP - Big C, Tink, Eddie
Champaign - Viperboy, AOB
COK - Mathos
DA - ?
Gamers - Omnigamer
KS/MO - Darkrain
Iowa - EarthBowser
Nebraska - Echo
Minnesota - Teflon?
Michigan - Dope
Kentucky - Jiano

Probably crews need to be around at least six months and attend two major tournaments before we allow a ballot to them. Feel free to add to the list, that's just a preliminary one.

So I'm not hearing any contradiction on my crews list. People just need to decide who is going to represent their crew then.

Well the problem with crews is that you need definative members to be a part of a crew. Like Trail for instance goes to college in MI but is a member of SHEP or Vidjo and GG'.

Also you forgot the mighty mind of EarthBowser! Go IOWA vote!

well considering All of Kentucky is separate you'd be excluding Jiano, Dant, Snapop, and OS. Cincy has been around for more than 6 months, we just keep changing the name. We formed in like February 06. Then there are issues like Vidjo not being in a crew.

Distributing justice 24/7.
it shouldnt matter if vidjo is not in a crew at least i dont think it should. Because the way i understand it the ballots are just for each crew so we have more than 5 panelists to make a rankings list for the whole MW.

tiers was the same idea I had Mathos, at least I thought, a starting point would be tiers, and then we could... if we somehow wanted to, attempt to order them within the tiers somewhat... but that would be like 1000 times more difficult.

Again, I think a STARTING point is crews, but really you just want someone from each region or diversity of opinion.

Regardless of crews, Jiano is well respected, a great poster, and travels to everything. I'd take him as a panelist in a heartbeat to represent Kentucky.

Does the SlaughterHouse 5 count as a crew? It used to be just me and Mendoza, but my brother is playing competitvely again.

If so, I'm the obvious choice.

I feel too detached from things to be a panelist, but if you count TJ as being part of "Champaign" then he's probably a good bet.

I also think tiers are a good place to start.
