Thanks for the tournament, After Dawn.
In all honesty, I'm actually grateful we didn't dominate the tournament. It's nice to know that we have some competition that's not over a dozen hours away.
Anyway,
I did play Moe in my second match in winner's, and I believe he classifies as "a good player". I do admit though, I was surprised. I had to deal with playstyles I've never seen before and bad match-ups, and I'm definitely glad I did. I'm very confident that I'll do a lot better next time.
Pools should be sets in games as match-up based as Brawl. I played as Olimar against two people in my pool, and once I had to played Alphicans he "counterpicked" Game & Watch. He even mentioned beforehand that he doesn't like playing Olimar. If it was a set, it would've been interesting to see what my Marth could've done to him.
Also, about playing against good "players", I had lot of friendlies Kosk, a few against Superboom, I played Moe in the second round of winner's, I played a quick match against Alphicans in pools, I played against Superboom and Killock in the first round of doubles, I played Colin and Firefly in friendlies and doubles, I also played Age and TO(?) several times each.
Anyway, time for the johns. I don't think that the brackets placed me in a favourable spot in any of the brackets, excluding low tier. I also hope you're aware that I was awake for around 32 hours at the end of the tournament, and I hadn't had warm-ups from the day before, and with the heat, my fatigue was terrible. I have to make these excuses to say that I wasn't performing my best.
I'm glad that there wasn't much Brawl hate, and I love how some of the Melee players tried to take Brawl seriously.
But yeah, I really did enjoy the tournament, though. I'll be seeing you again soon at CAST5, After Dawn. If there's no Brawl there, I'll still be attending, but if there is, expect a far-better performing Saskatchewanite. If there's no Brawl, we'll be hosting a Brawl tournament in Saskatoon, and I expect you to help us promote it!
Thanks. I may edit this if I had forgotten something.
