No disrespect meant to Dan at all. I actually wanted to talk to him and **** about the Brawl scene in WC.
Anyway, even if I don't win, I'm planning on getting top 3.

Are you going to be using anyone other than Meta Kn-

I forgot, characters and stages wouldn't make much of a difference. :p

Actually, if I was allowed, I'd be going to Edmonton with Rob, but my mom's bleh about it.

;_;

I'm going to test out my ROB and Kirby before the tournament starts. I might use Kirby a bit in doubles and ROB a bit in singles. I'll see how it goes, though. If competition is tough I'll just use MK the whole way through.

lol it's not too late, you can still come! There's plenty of room here and you could always take a bus like tomorrow night or something, I dunno.

You could probably place well in Brawl and pay for your trip back (ish). =) But don't enter Melee unless you wanna get owned lol gg

Lol, I'd be the only transportation, it'd cost a bit, and I get off work at like 8 on Friday. Unless his mom would let him run off to Alberta with "That guy who does the vidya games" at like 11:00 at night.

I call zombie bull****.

Fund CAST5, nyukka.

GG's on Sask getting ****ing owned at ADAT2 LOL

Honestly, you guys all lost to average or under-average players here, I don't think any of you even made it halfway into the bracket in any event., and you guys didn't even get far enough to play any good players lol. One of you guys lost to Fraser btw, who is like the worst player in Alberta.

It's okay, I still love you guys <3 just don't underestimate oop competition

Inaccurate. Me and Llumys placed in the upper half in doubles, and Llumys placed in the upper half in singles. Also, Llumys got second in his pool and I got first (beating Firefly and Age). In doubles we played Superboom and Killlock first round, and later lost to Firefly and Colin (who came in 5th, and the set was ridiculously close). Llumys lost to MurdaMoe and Age in singles, who came in 1st and 9th. My bracket placing was poor, I realize. No johns, I guess I just need to learn some low tier match-ups. I'd say we did pretty excellent considering there are only 4 competitive Brawl players in Saskatchewan (ignoring the fact that I'm the only one who has been to a Brawl tournament before, plus the fact that Rob barely plays Brawl and doesn't even like it). I'm also going to ignore the fact that we overheard you guys manipulating the brackets in low tier.

Anyway, we all had a lot of fun. We played some characters that we weren't used to, and your top players impressed us quite a bit (Killlock was someone I especially underestimated). Thanks for hosting the tournament and everything. We'll definitely head out there again (especially when Minus gets back here) to take all your money.

We didn't manipulate the brackets in low tier at all, we regenerated brackets until we had a good one. Colin wanted us to, but I said no. Also I'll post some stuff later here but I'm busy right now

For clarification, all we wanted to do was get a bracket that didn't have two of the low tier mains that were expected to do very well facing each other in the first round. We wouldn't have had any need to do that if we had done pools to seed everybody, but obviously, pools would have been very impractical at that point. From what I saw, some of the brackets had like, me and Koskinator or Colin and T-Block or something similar facing in the first match. I understand it may have sounded bad, but we were just trying to make it fair for everybody. I just want to make sure that anybody reading this doesn't get the wrong idea.

Good games, Saskatchewan; it was fun playing with you guys. I'll post shout-outs in the results thread when I have the time. =]

Thanks for the tournament, After Dawn.

In all honesty, I'm actually grateful we didn't dominate the tournament. It's nice to know that we have some competition that's not over a dozen hours away.

Anyway,

I did play Moe in my second match in winner's, and I believe he classifies as "a good player". I do admit though, I was surprised. I had to deal with playstyles I've never seen before and bad match-ups, and I'm definitely glad I did. I'm very confident that I'll do a lot better next time.

Pools should be sets in games as match-up based as Brawl. I played as Olimar against two people in my pool, and once I had to played Alphicans he "counterpicked" Game & Watch. He even mentioned beforehand that he doesn't like playing Olimar. If it was a set, it would've been interesting to see what my Marth could've done to him.

Also, about playing against good "players", I had lot of friendlies Kosk, a few against Superboom, I played Moe in the second round of winner's, I played a quick match against Alphicans in pools, I played against Superboom and Killock in the first round of doubles, I played Colin and Firefly in friendlies and doubles, I also played Age and TO(?) several times each.

Anyway, time for the johns. I don't think that the brackets placed me in a favourable spot in any of the brackets, excluding low tier. I also hope you're aware that I was awake for around 32 hours at the end of the tournament, and I hadn't had warm-ups from the day before, and with the heat, my fatigue was terrible. I have to make these excuses to say that I wasn't performing my best.

I'm glad that there wasn't much Brawl hate, and I love how some of the Melee players tried to take Brawl seriously.

But yeah, I really did enjoy the tournament, though. I'll be seeing you again soon at CAST5, After Dawn. If there's no Brawl there, I'll still be attending, but if there is, expect a far-better performing Saskatchewanite. If there's no Brawl, we'll be hosting a Brawl tournament in Saskatoon, and I expect you to help us promote it!

Thanks. I may edit this if I had forgotten something.

It was just a mishearing I'm sure. We heard something like "Oh, I don't want to play him first, he's good!" then "Oh, okay."

Also, what he said about competition being close. ^

This Saturday we should try to get enough people to run a real Brawl bracket. Hopefully by the time Nate gets back we'll have enough regulars to get a PR up and running.

Hey Sask <3

If something is hosted here or in BC in August, would you guys come? We wanna start hosting more tourneys and stuff and hopefully BC, Alberta and Sask can all be intertwined and we can all play each other a lot. =D Maybe you guys could start hosting more too? I would definitely think of coming if I had housing.

I need at least 3 week notice if I'm going to BC, but I'd try to come.

And yeah, we're trying to host something around March, I think. Since Minus will be here, we'll probably get some east coast players, too.

Flatzone 2? That'd be pretty cool. Not entirely sure if I could make it because I might still have school during that time (I'm only in grade 12 unfortunately), but if it's during Spring Break then I'll see.

P.S. Sorry if I got you guys mixed up but Blitzmidfielder = Rob / Red and was the white guy wearing the orange shirt, amirite? And then Llumys was the Asian guy (name plz) and Pierre was the white balla?

If we had a tournament, it would only be called Flatzone 2 if the Regina peeps hosted Melee for it and we hosted Brawl. That depends if they start playing again by that time. Otherwise, it would have a different name, although we still might host Melee.

I'm an azn with a french name. I know it'll take some time to process it. D:

I think I'll be able to go to the uni this weekend, but I'm not sure what we're going to do about setups.
