In that new star fox place. (I forgot the name) If you stand on the platforms, then do a drop z-air holding down the control then samus goes through the platform and does the z-air. But if you do it and let go of control she stops half way through and stays at the platform. I dont know how this can be used, just thought it was nice to know.

its called platform canceling and its been known since about 3 weeks after release. All you do is when you pass through a platform you press down as you pass through it and youll stop on the platform instead of flying up through it. This only works on moveing platforms...i actually do it alot on sv

I know what platform canceling is. This is not it. When your on the platform, hold down on the analog and use z-air but when your about to go through the platform let go of the analog stick. Again this really has no use just thought it was neat.

Wait, I haven't been on in awhile. Can Samus use z-AIR on the Ground now?

Yeah we need a bit more info. Are you dropping through the platform while grabbing? Or falling above the platform using z-air right before you land, but instead of having the platform cancel the z-air we kinda do the z-air while falling through the platform like midway or something?

This has been discovered, actually. You can also try using aerial attacks, but instead end up doing smash attacks. What you're describing with z-air can also be performed on Smashville's platform. It only works on moving platforms. Orichalcum has a video of this occurring on Lylat Cruise, but his wasn't the first discovery. I think it was Gonzo. In the video, two things happen. Orichalcum uses z-air, but he lands on the platform. Then, when he is trying to use d-air, he lands on the platform and spot-dodges instead.

explain the differences between this and platform cancelling (as you believe them to be) other than pressing Z instead of "insert other button here"

platform cancelling involves holding down + performing aerial, while having your feet near a moving platform and it causes you to end up standing on the platform (and not perform the attack).

now then, name those differences.

According to Kai_Blade17, yhe landing occurs only when the input to the control stick stops.
In what you've described, you have to hold down.

Therefore, an instance of this can never be an instance of platform cancelling.

This is not the only difference but it is sufficient to name one.

Guys, guys, calm down.

In the end, it's a useless glitch.
