For the second time we were streamed by VGBC. LD is the newest attendant at Xanadu and even though he wasn't full power, he still won using a 64 controller. We also ran our first doubles tournament this week with 4 teams doing random teammates

Week 8 bracket has been created. Pre-register for the tournament now at https://advancedbrackets.com/viewTournament.aspx?id=4198

We now have GameCube controller adapters and should get some overflow from melee this week. LD should be in attendance once again and Nintendude should be nearing his return from Italy. It will also be the last Xanadu for BarkSanchez for a few months as he will be running around the south on business.

We were again streamed by VGBC. The view count for 64 on youtube is some of the highest VGBC gets so they have been giving us significant stream time even though we have yet to reach the 20 entrant requirement. This was BarkSanchez's last week at Xanadu for at least the next few months as he begins traveling down south for business.

Probably because its impossible to find videos of good 64 play in decent quality with audible, informed commentary. Whereas there's already 12,214,290,2482 melee videos on vgbc alone at this point

I don't care why we get views as long as we are getting them. It's good for VGBC, it's good for the people in the videos, and it's good for 64.

Well I also think it's cool but I think it kinda confirms what I've suspected for a while which is that there are 64 fans out there they're just waiting for good content. I've been kind of considering getting into streaming for a while, maybe starting by setting up local stuff here in GA. I'd really love to do a weekly like S@X I just don't really know of a good venue yet. But I already have a capture device, some webcams and decent audio gear. Plus it'd be cool if I could eventually just travel to a lot of tournaments and set up an extra stream for whatever 64 stuff the big streams don't want to cover. Think about how sweet it'd be to have our own salty suite at Apex for Money Matches and Drunk Smash.

I got into competitive smash through the speed running scene and there's already huge support there for people running stuff like Majora's Mask, OoT, Castlevania 64... surely a lot of those viewers are equally nostalgic for smash. The audience is there, we just have to give them what they want.

Find a local game/comic store that will let you host and tell them they can get venue fee. Post flyers around local colleges and post douchebag Craigslist challenges. Worked for me.

Wanna try to organize / stream some sort of small event the 23rd of December when I'm back for a short bit but I figure its somewhat unrealistic. I'm craving Smash already and it's not even Wednesday yet
