I learn to be wrong and to admit it and kill your pride. that should destroy or at least reduce your stubborness. I'm not stubborn as much as I have a lot of will power. I'm not asking for attention. I have a plethora of friends, and a Chihuahua for that. I'm going to my first OOS tourney and I have arguably the worst smash mindset ever, and am asking for help.

I dropped out of highschool and I don't have a job. I'm 70 pounds overweight, and a virgin. I spent up until last month mooching off my poor parents.

I have never been good at anything I've done, and I've quit everything (except) smash.

I've known I'm stubborn and pessimistic for ages, AND people have been telling it its self destructive for ages, but I was too stubborn to change it. I've been using bull****, half-***** excuses to justify my pessimism, but honestly it's just my despising myself, but at the same time being too lazy to try to change.

GSG2 coming up, and having the funds to go makes me want to put an honest effort into changing myself, if it'll give me a better shot at meeting my goal(s).

It's good that you know this about yourself. It all just boils down to when you fell like putting in the effort. to change yourself. I see you post a lot and you don't post that way. That's good too, because i guess on the boards is a time where you are just more chill about things. So you have the ability to, it just has to carry over.

Hey man life isn't easy nor is it as hard as it seems. I've had problems you'll never understandand I may never understand being so low in the way of breaking like it sounds like you have or will. you also reliaze you have a computer in front of you there's so much you could quickly learn.

I mean I've been going through some s*** trying to figure out how ii'm going to die I may be killed in less than half a year I honest to God believe i've got a solid chance of it. you're got forever find something to make yourself happy and do it don't wate anymore time. I mean f*** go to afraica and compare our poor to their poor. you could grow corn somehwere and live off that. unlike some of them.

Despite that, I honestly am unsure on how to approach changing who I've been since birth. I've never been a very positive, or confident person, and I've always, ALWAYS been unreasonably stubborn.

I'm 220. 5'7. I have a girlfriend, you can get a partner too.

I am in college, but I have failed college, as if it was high school. I'm 21, and I still have no REAL job. (but I'm trying)

I don't even have a license.


But, I'm sure in time you can make little goals and be able to succeed just that much more.

Maybe your stubborness is part of your personality. I'm stubborn myself, we are how we are raised to be. No shame in being who you really are. : ]

Of course, I'm optimistic, but no one in my household actually smiles except me. So I'm the goof.

I'm my own worst critic as the saying goes.

I know all my flaws, but I know everyone has flaws. If you expect yourself to be perfect or "better" or something, then you've lived your whole life failing. It's like living and telling yourself to not be human. then you still are human every day, and you feel like you've failed.

I have a lot of girls who are attracted to me consistently, but I always turn them away because I don't want to get close to anyone.

I just want to ask: what's your motivation? why are you alive? Do you have any purpose for your life, or any plan at all?

5'8 220 here. From reading your posts, you kinda seem like a more extreme version of myself. Look at my sig, its there for a reason. You need to live your life for glory and nothing else (also honor, but that's implied). Do things regardless of the consequence, most of the time you'll find that they turn out pretty well in the end. I would share with you my journey of self discovery, but it's too personal to post on a public forum. You just have to identify your problem, which it seems you have, and try to take steps to fix it. It doesn't happen all at once, and you shouldn't expect it to. It's a slow process and it takes determination. The other approach is to just accept yourself. None of us are perfect and trying to be is a waste of time. Sometimes you have to take the bad with the good and identify your strengths as well as your weaknesses and live life accordingly.

As for the smash part, being pessimistic won't get you anywhere. You think Ash got to the Indigo Plateau by being a pessimist all the time? Hell no, he wants to be the very best. When people like Hungrybox talk about a winning attitude being important, they aren't blowing smoke. Trying to improve at something while having a negative attitude is, for all intents and purposes, the same as giving up.

tl;dr - Go watch Gurren Lagann. That **** is inspirational as hell. All you need to know resides in that anime.

Maybe by posting this thread he acknowledges this? Although there isn't MUCH reason for saying it like this: "much smarter than you" not that you should sweeten it up but not that one should put salt in the wounds either...
