I say the roster looks good except one thing,
I thought toad was disconfirmed and seeing him up there bugs me

Yeah, it's way too early to say Toad is deconfirmed. Peach's moveset might not even be finalized yet and those were his words exactly.

Even if it was finalized, there are a lot of reasons for Toad to still have a shot.

So I have a change of heart. I'm on Team Mewtwo now.

So I suppose my order for character release goes as follows...

1. Mewtwo (Lot of things going on for Mewtwo: Pokémon Origins [Ep. 4], Pokémon X and Y [Being the face of Mega Evolution], and M16 [Being aired next Saturday]).
2. Pokémon Trainer (Has somethings going on for him too, specifically Charizard though: Pokémon Origins, Charizard's mega evolution, Kanto Starters in X and Y. However, I firmly believe that the best day to reveal him would probably be February 27th. Which is the 18th Anniversary of Red and Green).
3. Lucario (The only thing going for his reveal right now is his Mega Evolution and the fact that Lucarios were the first Pokémon that were discovered to be able to Mega Evolve. Next best time for Lucario's reveal would probably be July 16th, the 9th anniversary of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Although, Gen 4's release date is in September).
4. Jigglypuff (Only relevance to X and Y is Fairy type, so she's doesn't have as big of a chance as the other three do. Best time for reveal would probably be April 1st, the 17th Anniversary of the Anime. Since that is where most of her popularity came from).
5. Any other Pokémon (anybody beyond these four is kinda wishful thinking imo, but feel free to support who you want in #TeamKlefki).

Why though? I don't see you explaining why Dr. Kawashima is such a hot choice. I can respect your decision on keeping Daitouryou with Takamaru or Sablé, they actually make some sense. But I only see you keeping Kawashima as a reason for you to remain unique in comparison to other rosters. Which isn't always a good thing my friend.

Also just keep Ike. Chrom is not an absolute necessity and there is no reason to remove Ike.

A new Mario / Mario-Related character is still practically necessary though. So in the end, you would still need to add one.

I added Dr. Kawashima, because Sakurai wants characters none of us has seen before, he might be referring to characters like Wii Fit Trainer and Villager, which honestly normally Smash would add characters from adventure games, RPG, and platforming. The fact that Brain Age is a popular Nintendo series just like Animal Crossing and Wii Fit makes it seem more obvious to add Dr. Kawashima.

Keep Toad. He is ridiculously more likely than Bowser Jr. because of his playable roles in recent games (unpopular opinion around here). People just don't want him and are blinded by that. I'd also try and add Pac-Man, but that's just me.

Very good roster, though. I like it.

Where'd you get the Dr. Mario costume, btw?

Honestly, I don't get what the big deal is. It's not like he's any more confirmed than he was in Melee or Brawl, but that doesn't make him unlikely, since multiple toads have the same vest as "Toad", and the blue toad is becoming the "Kinopio" (The Toad) anyways.

This isn't about being a "hardcore Toad fan", this is about absolutes. Saying he is deconfirmed is an absolute. He is not deconfirmed. Unlikely? Thats up to you. Deconfirmed? That's not an opinion, its a fact that can only be stated when the game releases.

Just because he's a move he's deconfirmed? No. Not at all. You can SAY you think he's unlikely, but anyone who has an open mind will simply say he isn't deconfirmed. Because that's actually a fact.

Pretty safe roster, but the best amount of characters we could possibly get is 45-47.
I suggest you cut two characters, personally for me cut Tetra and Toad.
I suggest a historical character also. A good choice would be Daitouryou.

Oh... Mario discussion. Um... I like Bowser Jr. He's also been pretty relevant in Mario as of late, appearing in the platformers (except the very recent ones, but the majority since Brawl). From a standpoint, Toad seems to be the most likely, based on his status as a Nintendo All-Star, but Jr. has surged in importance within the franchise since Brawl was released, being in the majority of the "New" Series, the Galaxy games, etc. Plus he made a surprise visit as a boss in Dream Team. I don't know whether or not he will return for 3D World, but I don't think it matters that much, as it couldn't have had that much impact on the roster decision.

Just my thoughts. I think it's either between Toad or Jr.

Eh. You see that is the thing. When it comes to Mario characters, I think it should be characters that serve importance to the series. Toad has really just been stuck in the void between side player and supporting character. Bowser Jr. has grown from what was once Bowser's son into the second-in-command of the Koopa Army. I mean, he was even confirmed to be above rank of the Koopa Kids by Miyamoto himself. He has become the second important villain in the game. I say that other than the four veterans, he's the next importance. Sure, Toad has been around longer and stayed relevant, but Bowser Jr. moved up the ranks of popular Nintendo characters. Again, though, just my opinion.
