Oh how DARE Sakurai want to keep hype for the game. And honestly I get the vibe that people care a lot less about Sonic this time around. Honestly PT, Jiggs, Lucario, and Mewtwo all have their own pros and cons for being revealed and I honestly can't predict who he would use but the bottom 3 go like this to me

I saw this similar response to a past post of Morbid's about the same subject earlier. It's not a matter of "how DARE he hype up the game", it's a matter of Mewtwo not being revealed nonchalantly. Mewtwo is a veteran, yes, but I do not think he will be revealed nonchalantly without a video or anything on a midnight update.

I could be wrong, yes! But I am expecting a Brawl veteran reveal. Seeing Mewtwo saved for a direct or something.

BluePikmin11, you do realize Mr. Hanafuda himself DOESN'T EXIST right? He's a character APPARENTLY you made up, as when I researched this creation it was you're own thread. That's like if I took my idea of Baby Yoshi and made it an actual prediction. Sakurai is almost certainly not going to add a character you created. (though I technically didn't create Baby Yoshi, I used the fan art.)

Well, it certainly wouldn't be the first time a character is specifically created for Smash to represent a franchise that lacks a main character.
Not saying that Mr. Hanafuda is viable in any way, but that's still there.

lucario could represent x/y and very well too since he's actually more important too the cannon story of mega evolutions than advertiseing like Mewtwo.

... And who got a ****ing movie to introduce the concept of mega evolutions before they were even revealed? =P Lucario has plenty of merits to get revealed next, but then again so does every one else so honestly I'm not going to even bother predicting that (but I HOPE it's Jiggs or Mewtwo) but honestly, to me that point feels like it holds about as much ground as Roy being Awakening DLC XD OK, I don't actually think it's nearly that moot of a point but I doubt that's really going to be much of a factor.

I remember when I first unlocked Mr. Game and Watch in melee way back when, the first thing I remember doing was googling him. There was nothing hahah just a bunch of pictures of Game and Watches

I think the common assumption is that the reveal on Friday won't be accompanied by a video. That is what I assumed at least.

I think it's safe to assume only newcomers and characters revealed via Direct will have an accompanying video. And not even necessarily the latter, Luigi didn't.

The only exception I can see would be Mewtwo, but personally I doubt it. I think he'd get revealed same as any veteran, only with a lot more **** being lost.

Key Word: Assumption. There's no real reason why Sakurai couldn't do that. Either way I don't have my hopes up for mewtwo because that sets me up for potential disappointment but I doubt him being withheld due to being too exciting is the definitive reason for that.

I'll take note to keep Falco, I'll get rid of Takamaru or Sable for him.
Everyone else I tend to keep (Though I leaning to get rid of Anna, but I don't like Chrom either, neither Ike).

I'm gonna go straight to the negative points because I find pretty much everything else positive.
- Lucarioless and Falcoless: I suppose Lucario is somewhat understandable, but Falco? Really? Come on now, he's pretty much a mainstay at this point. There's no need to cut him now.
- Diddy + Dixie tag team: I've brought it up before, and I'll say it again. This tag team is really unnecessary and unwanted. Dixie is fine on her own and you're only gimping an already existing character to just push another one in without having to change your roster layout. Your ZSS character switch style makes no sense for the two either, unless you can prove otherwise. (Besides, the roster still lacks a new Mario / Mario-related character addition).
- Tw- no wait, Three Japanese only characters: That's just overkill, please try to cut it down to two, if not just one. Especially if they're all retro characters.
- Dr. Kawashima: Still gonna have to say no. I mean if you do plan on keeping Ditouryou, two other overly surprising characters after Wii Fit Trainer will receive serious backlash. Try to keep one of them (but please don't let it be the good doctor).
- Anna over Ike: This is obviously a pure bias decision. I'd much rather see Anna join the Fire Emblem characters instead of replacing a unique one if she can't emulate the previous moveset.
- Four Third-Parties without Snake: As much as I love Layton, I can't say this decision is a great one.
- The amount of new series being added: Now I myself would love to see more new franchises in this game than what we averagely get, but seriously? You are introducing 12 franchises, not counting Pilotwings, Nintendogs, and whatever potential stages without characters we could get. That's just too much, more than Smash 64 introduced. You need to put that into consideration as well.

So yeah my opinion of it hasn't changed much, but I hope this helps a bit.

Then I won't add a DK newcomer at all guess if the Diddy+Dixie is such an issue. :/

Well, like N3ON said, so far videos accompanying character reveals are usually first shown on a Nintendo direct first. So i'm just assuming based on trend

If we ever get a newcomer character reveal with a video, on a midnight update, then I'll stop assuming that

Precisely. There isn't really any evidence to definitively prove anything. Most people are just trying to associate simple notions with reliability. Essentially they are trying to justify their logic. As you stated, it could literally be any one of them. There is evidence for and against each. It is part of what makes the game fun. Sorry for being snappy. I didn't like the Straw Man you threw at me.

You are right. I find it difficult to predict stupid perspectives. I suppose if we did get Mewtwo revealed first, some Lucario haters would see that as evidence for some reason. It truly is a horrible world we live in.

WHO WILL BE THE ONE?

So I have a change of heart. I'm on Team Mewtwo now.

So I suppose my order for character release goes as follows...

1. Mewtwo (Lot of things going on for Mewtwo: Pokémon Origins [Ep. 4], Pokémon X and Y [Being the face of Mega Evolution], and M16 [Being aired next Saturday]).
2. Pokémon Trainer (Has somethings going on for him too, specifically Charizard though: Pokémon Origins, Charizard's mega evolution, Kanto Starters in X and Y. However, I firmly believe that the best day to reveal him would probably be February 27th. Which is the 18th Anniversary of Red and Green).
3. Lucario (The only thing going for his reveal right now is his Mega Evolution and the fact that Lucarios were the first Pokémon that were discovered to be able to Mega Evolve. Next best time for Lucario's reveal would probably be July 16th, the 9th anniversary of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew. Although, Gen 4's release date is in September).
4. Jigglypuff (Only relevance to X and Y is Fairy type, so she's doesn't have as big of a chance as the other three do. Best time for reveal would probably be April 1st, the 17th Anniversary of the Anime. Since that is where most of her popularity came from).
5. Any other Pokémon (anybody beyond these four is kinda wishful thinking imo, but feel free to support who you want in #TeamKlefki).

So yeah. #Hashtag

Why though? I don't see you explaining why Dr. Kawashima is such a hot choice. I can respect your decision on keeping Daitouryou with Takamaru or Sablé, they actually make some sense. But I only see you keeping Kawashima as a reason for you to remain unique in comparison to other rosters. Which isn't always a good thing my friend.

Also just keep Ike. Chrom is not an absolute necessity and there is no reason to remove Ike.

A new Mario / Mario-Related character is still practically necessary though. So in the end, you would still need to add one.
