Remember there are two sets of starters in X/Y. The 1st gen starters given to you by the professor, and the.. current gen starters given to you by your friends. (Or maybe it's the other way around, the point is there are two generations of starters)

I've watched the whole entire 4-episode special. He never gets anything related to X/Y besides the Mega X Stone for Charizard. It takes place in Kanto. I'm sure X/Y doesn't.

Haha, anyways, I'm still rooting for the Trainer, but now that I think about it, I love all 5 Pokémon vets that we're talking about. Jigglypuff is amazing, Mewtwo is a character I missed in Brawl, Pichu would be awesome to see again, the Trainer features the Pokémon I chose in Blue and will choose in X, and my main Pokémon in Platinum is Lucario... So, I want all of them to be confirmed equally. Logic, however, moves me to bet on the Trainer.

I have to say, it makes sense. Lucario is both a physical and special attacker. His moves in Smash represent his special moves.

After all, he is a superb Special Sweeper, despite being a Fighting Type.

The only thing that I reckon will be his undoing would be if Sakurai considers the hype ammount of PT to be the equivalent of 3-veterans' worth of hype, thus spacing it out even further away. (Meaning, that we would've gotten Peach, Toon Link, Sonic, Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard... 6 veterans in under a month)

That's great and all, but in actual anime appearances and showing its abilities off, even in the animations of X and Y, Lucario is never portrayed like that. He moves and acts like a fighting type...the Lucario of Smash Bros moves and acts like a psychic type.

We probably aren't. I thought you meant Origins when you were talking about the special for Red (PKMN Trainer). If that's the case, my fault.

In the hypothetical that Diddy was partnered with Dixie in Brawl, he would lose a major part of his game; the bananas. Instead, he would be switching with her, given that the initial plan was a literal tag-team DKC style.

How does a Lucario fight? I'm rather curious that apparently an Aura-infused martial arts style compared to T'ai chi ch'uan or Baguazhang is not considered fighting like a Lucario.

Edit: No seriously, I'd like to play as an actual fighting type, not a fighting type pretending to be a Psychic type.

If it weren't for the whole "extra range Aura" being part of his moves (which was overdone tbh; should have just been for stronger attacks and Specials), no one would be comparing him to a Psychic type. Especially since his animations are all martial arts based.




Betting on the reveal for Pokémon? I bet Mewtwo.

It doesn't emphasize it anymore than Brawl does. If anything all it emphasizes is the fanboyism of traditional fighting games.
Problem with Brawl though is that the Aura aspect is overbearing.
