Well done! ...Aside from a few tweaks here and there I'd personally make such as swap Toon Link for someone else, make Diddy and Dixie "one" character like Ice Climbers and put K Rool in, remove Falco (unless his moveset was changed to differentiate him from Fox more I.E like Wolf). There is simply no need for 4 Star Fox reps and having Fox (Vet) Wolf, (Villain/not a clone), and Krystal (newcomer) is more than enough. (My opinion of course) Love me some Krystal! ^_^ Other than that, I emphatically give it two thumbs up!

Not awful by any means, but I do have more than a few gripes...

Firstly, Star Fox is not likely to ever get four reps - I simply cannot see that happening and I know I'm not alone in saying so. Secondly, Lucina. Third, neither Mario, Zelda or Pokemon has a new rep. I can understand Mario not getting anyone new, and to an extent I can even understand Zelda too (although Toon Link seems like a bad decision to me and always will, even in Brawl), but Pokemon is pretty clearly going to get at least somebody new, and not giving a newcomer to any of the 'Big Three' franchises seems odd to me.

So yeah, those are my big gripes. I can't say I'd be entirely disappointed with this roster if it came to pass, but the overabundance of Star Fox reps, combined with the unlikely addition of Lucina and the complete lack of love towards Ninty's biggest franchises bugs the crap out of me.

Either K.Rool or Ridley instead of both is a good guess.
4 Star Fox reps... hmmm.... Iffy but could be.
I'm going to be bold here and say that it could either be Takamaru or Lucina, but 4 blue haired sword users I just don't see likely.

Other than that, pretty solid!
May I ask, if you had 50 characters, what would your last two be? Just curious. :D

Has Roy and Mewtwo. I count that as a plus.

Honestly feels like a strong roster and I would be happy with one like this. Personally agree with Gingerbread Man about Dixie/Diddy combo being a bit unlikely however.

On a side note I still don't get why everyone thinks Takamaru's a dead cert, but I'm aware I'm in the minority on this one.

I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if he was an assist trophy or made no appearance at all. But hes an interesting idea for a new retro character so I'm not going to criticize it.

I disagree on Krystal's odds I think they are about 50% at this point, she is the last sf character needed and a new sf character has been added each game so we will see.

I don't have an issue with Krystal at all - but she will come at the expense of either Falco or Wolf if she does make it in. By that flawed logic, why should we make any kind of predictions at all about the roster? After all, it's Sakurai who makes the call, not us. Why not just get rid of the whole Roster Prediction thread?

That is to say, while it may be Sakurai's decision, that doesn't mean we don't have every right to say things that should or shouldn't happen and things which would seem illogical for Smash. Sakurai may choose four reps for Star Fox but that doesn't change the fact that it would be a poor idea and would prioritize Star Fox over franchises that deserve better representation. Well I respect your opinion but I think 4 reps is fine for the sf franchise as well as I think 4 is fine for the FE franchise. Mario 5, Zelda 5, dk 4, metroid 3-4 including zero suit, and Pokemon 5-6.

Is star fox even remotely close to any of the others. Mario has four and a newcomer isn't guaranteed. Having the same as star fox means star fox is as big as Mario, which is a huge lie. DK getting four is believable, FE getting four is somewhat believable, star fox is not

That's your opinion. Ill also say I consider a 5th Mario character extremely likely.

I should have specified, it's your opinion that sf doesn't need 4 reps, Mario would have 5 reps by what I'm telling you. Not even including Mario's pseudo reps yoshi and Wario.

I won't doubt your opinion because I have nothing against Krystal and personally I'd rather that she replaced either Falco or Wolf (with the one who stays getting the best features of the one who gets cuts) - a new Star Fox rep without the typical blaster and reflector weapons would be a nice change, I can definitely agree on that one. I just don't think it's as black-and-white as "50% chance", and whilst in an ideal world Star Fox would get four reps or even five, this is not an ideal world and we are not going to get a 50+ character roster - compromises have to be made. In this case, I simply feel it's less than ideal for Star Fox to have four reps, just like I feel at least one existing Pokemon rep will have to be cut. It ain't pretty but it's the grim truth of fighting game development; they're never going to be able to realistically include all of the veterans people want whilst also providing enough newcomers to make it a worthwhile purchase.

I think what he meant is that the four characters have now in Mario are the 'main set' and that anything else is a bonus. I'd disagree of course because I feel like Toad completes the set... but that's another debate for another day.

UPDATE! Starfy: Pretty likely, and very popular.
Tetra: Very important/popular LoZ character.
Toad: In a LOT of the Mario games, lots of potential, and very popular. (and I like him better then Bowser Jr.)
King K. Rool: VERY popular, check out the polls, most popular DK rep, villain, who doesn't have him in their roster? Pretty self explanatory.
Ridley: See King K. Rool except he's a Metroid rep. Pretty self explanatory.
Palutena: Who else for Kid Icarus? Very Popular, female. Pretty self explanatory.
Takamaru: One of the most potential/likely retro characters, pretty self explanatory.
Little Mac: See Takamaru.
Isaac: Pretty self explanatory. See Takamaru.
Mewtwo: 6th Gen rep, VERY VERY popular, even before Newtwo, Pretty self explanatory.
Chrom: Pretty self explanatory. Very popular.
Pac-Man: Most potential 3rd Party.

It wouldn't; it's a cake. My point is that technically and theoretically Peach's role of being kidnapped could be taken by anything or anyone. She's something that needs to be gotten back. That is her entire role in those games.

Some games fleshed her out more; SMB2 and Super Princess Peach(which isn't as sexist as everyone made out; Peach is the only one in the kingdom able to control her emotions) but her role is basically 'thing Bowser wants to steal to make Mario and/or Luigi come after him'.
