Roster Prediction Discussion Thread

Pardon me asking, but is there a special program used for this style roster? I mean, I've seen it around, and it's not the SSB Roster Maker program so...what is it exactly?

Actually, I just use Gimp 2. All my work is always manual.

Meanwhile, everyone else on this site loves to use that roster maker... Darn kids and their casualized roster making!

I'm going to bring up my roster once more if we've decided we're going to be talking about what this thread is for again:

It's a combination of what I personally want and what I find likely. The characters cut from SSBB are Toon Link, Snake, and Ike, solely because they seem likely to go, but I've added quite a bit. As you can also see, I styled it up to be like Brawl's roster, where character groups descend in columns. The ones I put in there who I want to be in the most are Bowser Jr., King K. Rool, Ghirahim, Ridley, Palutena, Mewtwo, Little Mac, Starfy, and Geno. I wouldn't mind as much if Paper Mario, Dixie Kong, Chrom, and Isaac didn't make the cut, but I wouldn't care as much. This is only 47 character slots with a random... but it's 52 with dual characters. Seems a bit higher than Sakurai would wnat for the new game, but who knows. Your guys' thoughts?

I think it is one of the most practical rosters around. Especially since you wouldn't mind cutting Paper Mario, Dixie Kong, Chrom, and Isaac. That would also bump the roster down to 42 without the random. I think it makes a lot of sense. There are not too many crazy requests. I think you deserve mad props for being able to actually create a PRACTICAL roster.

I had to try it at some point, so here's a rendition of my roster if it's truly possible for the 3DS to hold 50 characters, which it very well could, so here's a 50 character roster:

Additions: Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, Bowser Jr., King K.Rool, Ghirahim, Classic/LBTW Link, Ridley, Zoroark, Mewtwo, Chrom, Shulk, Palutena, Takamaru, Little Mac, Mii, Sukapon, MegaMan

Cuts: Lucario, Toon Link

I don't think that over-representing the latest movie is a good idea, so just returning Mewtwo is the best idea there. However, the issue I have with Genesect is that it's a pokemon not many people have had alot of time to adjust to like and such, players only being able to own a Genesect outside cheat devices last October, but Zoroark, she's a pokemon we've known about since the days the gen was announced and was the first pokemon from 5th Gen we came to know and love thanks to multiple events, a movie, and more. Not to mention the addition of a Dark Type pokemon is always good, because personally...Dark type is my favorite type...and Zoroark is my favorite pokemon of that type. Imagine the mind-games that could be played with people as you play with Zoroark online...

I dont think that It would be that big of a deal if they skipped gen5 for a playable rep I mean gen3 didnt get one as long as they get some sort of representation like a boss (Rayquaza) or pokeballs It should be fine, Then again that's me trying to keep Lucario in.

Generation VI stage.
Pokeballs, trophies and stickers spread throughout all the generations, including II, III, and IV.

Look, we just represented every generation of Pokemon. No need for any complicated additions for the sake of representation.

How did I forget about Pichu? That was my sisters troll character. She mained Pikachu, so Pichu was extremely similar. She always wanted to prove she could beat me with such an LOL character. My LOL character was Mewtwo.

People hate the fact that they put eyes on inanimate objects, although they've been doing that since Gen 1...*Cough* Voltorb, Grimer, Magnemite, Eggsecute (I probably spelt that wrong), *Cough* And unlike a majority of those pokemon, the pokemon of Gen 5 have incredible stats! Vanilluxe? Incredible Special Attack and Special Defense to match, Chandelure? The Pokemon with the greatest non-legendary Special Attack stat of 145, Garbodor? As stupid as it looks, the thing is a freaking tank.

A Ghost/Steel Type...my God my dream is now complete. Just imagine what badass things this thing could evolve into. I'm naming mine Ghirahim...Fi if it's a girl...Oh...Skyward Sword spoilers...

An easy solution to combine new Pokemon reps while still being conservative to the roster limit, therefore also making a unique sword user:

1) Pick generic badass Pokemon of the generation, preferable one Mewtwo-sized.
2) Have him hold new sword 'mon.

I can picture it being used as an evolution tactic. You know, like you have to have a Remoraid in your party to evolve a Mantyke into a Mantine?

Ok I might jsut need to get that new Pokemon game now. Though still iffy about as Pokemon has lost allot of it's magic on me and the games just feel so repetitive now (which is why I never got BW2) and I only ever really play Pokemon for the main game and none of the post game stuff (post game Pokemon is boring to me lol) or competitive stuff. But so many cute and cool looking pokemon. Damn you Pokemon Company/Game Freak. .-.

Anyway, I really do want Zoroak for SSB4 and think it has a good chance of getting in and offering a interesting gimmick. Though I would love it if Victini got in instead as its my 2nd fave pokemon and my 1st fave already being in (Charizard) but seems somewhat unlikely compared to Zoroak. :/

I ahve always loved Mew now. But that more due to it being a cute Pokemon. Same with how I love Celebi, Jirachi, Manaphy, Mesprit, Shayman, ect.... And Victini trumps every single one of them on the cute factor. lol Other then those legendarys though the only other ones that stick out for me are Darkrai and Deyoxes.
