Sakurai: PIC OF THE DAY! RIDLEY JOINS THE BATTLE! Also we've included attackable Assist Trophies this go round! The gravity on the Mario Galaxy stage makes blood fly like that 300 movie! Oh, and also, DUE TO F***IN' TIME CONSTRAINTS, we've completed the game hastily using outdated Photoshop software. Enjoy!

I think the fact that Sakurai bothered to issue an actual statement about Starfy seems as if Sakurai actually considered him, but at the time he thought he wasn't feasible much like Villager. So I don't think it's wrong to say Sakurai acknowledges that Starfy may deserve a playable appearance somewhat. He also seemed to get a lot of stickers and trophies.

It's nothing but a few clicks of paint in photoshop. I didn't mean for it to offend anyone. I've seen gorier stuff in this thread before, so I didn't expect it to be taken the way it was. I apologize to anyone I may have offended.
Honestly with Superbrawler's first comment I was about to make a quick one of Pichu ripping off Ridley's head, but seriously.... I'm done. Sorry everybody.

Actually nothing was specifically stated for The Legendary Starfy. The only hint that we got even implying Starfy being planned was Starly being under the Fighter Related category, but even then it could either be a typo (trophies have a surprising amount) or it's simply a shout out to Starly's Princess Peach outfit from Densetsu no Stafy 4.

Silly ThatWasPeachy, that's Bowja, who has the name "Kewpuh" in Japan.
The 'Murican Koopa is called "Nokonoko" in Japan; totally different things.
All it does is save time on making announcer calls for Koopa; they can simply use Bowser's Japanese one.
