I have more hype with smash4 actually, but that samus crawl and exploding white pikmin was beast, holy ****.

It's how it handles all the characters.

It doesn't have any newcomers whatsoever, but the way to provides both fanservice and balance for the entire roster means it creates a beneficial reception. Which is why I do state from time to time that newcomers aren't everything, the veterans can easily be just as interesting if you mix it up.

Well, you can argue a lot of franchises could become big things, but I don't think we should add them until we're sure they will.

I really don't consider a game not getting release in only 3 years a downside especially compared to a one off game. That sounds like a recency argument.

Nor has there been for Punch-Out or Mega Man. I haven't heard of any upcoming games starting King K. Rool either. Your point? Did Golden Sun's impact on Nintendo's history in the past suddenly vanish? Was it erased from history entirely? It's only been 3 years you know. That's about 1 year more than Pikmin 2 had before Brawl and the same amount as Mega Man while Punch-Out was 4 years ago.

A lot of characters have popularity and absolute potential. But, others have more glory and significance than others.

Sakurai will take oppurtunity to add newly debuted characters, but I don't think he'll go out of his way JUST because they are new. I'm just saying that XenoBlade hasn't gotten a whole lot of treatment where as Golden Sun has. And the defense that Golden Sun hasn't had a game in only 3 years sounds a lot like "muh recency."

To play a bit of Devil's advocate, if Golden Sun is indeed such an important franchise that needs and deserves high amounts of recognition in Super Smash Bros., then how come it was heavily ignored despite the franchise being at the peak of it's popularity?

Recency matters, but it isn't the be all end all factor that will get a character chosen over another. It mostly effects Fire Emblem and Pokémon from what we've seen thus far with the series, but that's a different subject entirely.

Popularity is incredibly important when you look at the main body of characters that got in for Brawl, a.k.a Meta Knight, Wario, Pit, Dedede, Diddy Kong, etc... Another thing that isn't a be all end all factor.

Basically, one thing isn't going to help a character get in. It's the factors mixed together that get a character in if you ask me. Really I think either Shulk or Isaac would be good choices. Additionally, I don't see why they couldn't both get in based on the fact that they can easily differentiate themselves from one another.

Again, I just like Shulk better, and therefore i'm biased.

EDIT: One thing I will contest is the lasting effect thing with Golden Sun. I really don't see what effect it has had in all honesty. Xenoblaze raises a good point. I just wouldn't know.

it got an assist trophy and music. it wasn't heavily ignored.

plus, there were bigger fish to fry.

Well, Project M looks really, really, really promising. Not very pleased with some changes, but excited overall (specially because of Mewtwo and Roy)

Yes, but only while I've been using my mom's laptop. I was an idiot and turned off my laptop while it was updating, and the desktop computer started not working. Right now I have my girlfriend's friend looking at it. He's the one who built our computer and fixed my laptop once before.

Although i'm hoping he hurries up, because the end of the semester is coming, and I need the computer back:cry:

Project M is good because at least now people can use their favorite character and still have a decent chance of winning, and Mewtwo + Roy.

I'd say it looks a bit faster than Brawl, but a bit slower than Melee.

It seems to be a balance of the two. Which I think is wonderful.

my personal opinion is that all star fox needs is just fox and wolf, Falco is a nice addition, but is not necessary
so I say that it shouldn't get another slot, it should stay the way it is,
