I guess that its possible. I'm no Toad supporter(I personally think he's annoying)but at the very least I understand why people think he should be added. If he doesn't get in as a playable character again then its no skin off my back.

Personally, I'd want Bowser Jr. or Paper Mario. And even then, other veteran series(Namely Metroid and DK)I'd rather see get 1 or 2 more playable characters.

I only supporting him because I think he is like Bandana Dee, a servant that is the 4th playable character of their series and people think that they will not be playable because their species are part of other characters moveset.
Except that Bandana Dee has his spear and Toad has nothing ,only Mario power-ups. XD
I think if Toad is confirmed then Bandana Dee's chances will increase,well IMO.

The guy never really clicked with me. And Toad and Paper Mario are way more deserving and have been around longer, so they should get priority over BJ.

Yay, I made a new roster.

And this one is categorized into four different subsections. A 48 character roster consisting of Platformers on the top, Adventure games in the second row, RPG/Strategy games on the third row, and the fourth row is a combination of simulators (Space flying/Racing), Survival (MGS, Pac-Man, Game & Watch series) Hardware (ROB) Fighting games (Punch-Out) Collector games (Animal Crossing) and exercise (Wii Fit). The Ice Climbers are there because there's no room on the top row for them.

I'm actually starting to get more confident in Roy's inclusion.
I'm leaning towards Chrom, but Roy is one of the most wanted Smash 4 characters in the world.
Just like Mewtwo and K. Rool, both of which I am very confident in.

I think you guys know where I am going with this one... I still think it is not out of the realm of possibility that Sakurai could replace Toad with Toadsworth... and Peach could still have the same move, but with a new look... just like the Capsule... same function, new look. *puts up Toad Shield*

I'm sure those old capsules are just an asset imported from brawl. They probably imported a lot of things for testing before going back to recreate them.

If you want my opinion on the whole peach-is-using-toad thing, I think its perfectly acceptable to have toad as a playable character without changing peach. Toadsworth isn't really necessary.

I'm sure sakurai saw Roy's animations and was briefed about the character himself from IS. Roy was the way he was because he was intended to be a clone.

Look at it this way

Roy and Chrom have only appeared in one Fire Emblem title. What does Chrom have that Roy doesn't. He actually has less than Roy. Roy is a more iconic, requested, beloved, and unique Fire Emblem character and technically has had more appearances in the gaming universe (Melee, Awakening DLC,). He even had a prequel starring his direct identical relative which became the first international Fire Emblem.

Roy was added over Leif in Melee because he was more unique (contrary to the popular belief that Sakurai ever mentioned recency had anything to do with it.). And Ike was added in Smash for being highly requested and having several appearances. So we know Sakurai has added Fire Emblem characters for being more unique and more requested/appearing. I don't see the point in having Chrom over Roy. Muh recency and Muh sales does not sound like Sakurai's criteria.

Why not add the character Fire Emblem fans are more familiar with, desire more, and has more potential and glory in the Nintendo universe? Advertisements? Adding a generic character who might as well just be any old Fire Emblem character years from now?

Yes, I'm aware of that. I meant if they do bring him back I doubt they will keep his old moveset considering other characters seem to be getting revamped.

Few things I see wrong with that statement.
Familiarity is something that's hard to argue. Especially when you are on the subject of Fire Emblem fans while analyzing it from the smash fan perspective.
Desire is way subjective to be used as point.
Potential and glory, if anything has just about plateaued for Roy. At least, in comparison to his competitors. His game has come and gone, and hes made a smash appearance. I think it would be more reasonable to say that future FE protagonists and lords not exposed to the massive smash audience have more-so not reached their potential and glory.
