Here's a new topic, would you feel if Quote (from Cave Story) replaced Snake on the SSB4 roster?

Don't get me wrong, it sounds cool, but the thought that he is a feasible third party character is laughable. Him replacing Snake is even more ludicrous. If Konami had a rep, it'd be Snake. Maybe Bomberman, but very doubtful.

I know the series well enough, but I would honestly rather have more new third parties than Snake. (My opinion)

Don't get me wrong, it sounds cool, but the thought that he is a feasible third party character is laughable.

His chances are pretty low actually, as I actually heard from the creator of Cave Story that he doesn't want Quote in the Smash Bros. game.

Why not research about Cave Story first of all.

What makes you think I don't already know about Cave Story and the overall basis of what could make Quote a character? I picked Snake for a reason, he has alot more to work with, not to mention he's undeniably more popular no matter where you go in the world. This was a bad comparison for choices, as people will most likely always choose Snake.

I would be pissed, snake is a unique iconic character that is well respected, plus he's alot of people's home slice, and it would be a shame if he left which he won't.

A little bit ticked, but also happy. I'm a huge supporter of the return of Snake, but at least we get Roy, Mewtwo, and Ridley. I'd probably lean more on the disappointed side.

There should be no need for cuts. How about we NOT assume that the 3DS can't handle 50+ playable characters considering the amount of content Pokemon X and Y managed to fit into one cartridge.

There is a monumental difference between the work required to code a single Pokémon and the work required to code a fighter in Super Smash Bros.

Yeah I think it's just simply coding a few poses for the 3D Pokemon models, while Smash characters have alot more to work with grabs, special moves, normal attacks etc.

actually, to be honest I would actually be happy,
not for the fact that snake would be cut, but for the fact that quote got in, I'll still be mad that snake got cut.

that's pretty much how I see things turning out. minus adding Roy that is. and that I still believe Pac-Man is coming

There is also the matter of balancing fighters and making sure their physics are compatible with each other and the many respective worlds they visit. Sakurai has also said the characters are made from scratch every successive generation, and that they are not ported over from the previous game. This could explain why the tier lists are so inconsistent throughout the series (Kirby going from best to worst in one game, etc.).

Remember, if memory recalls, they're still going to do some sort of single-player campaign, my guess similar to Melee's Adventure Mode, just more modified.That could take up some time.

This is an experiment: How would you react if this was the finalized roster?

Ummmm....Wow. I get adding Lip or Duck Hunt Dog, that seems reasonable. Yarn Kirby would be unique, but why not use Fluff instead? I guess Anthony and Black Shadow aren't terrible choices either, but Anthony could get swapped with Ridley or even Dark Samus. E.Gadd is but a pipe dream, sadly.

And Silver would be a terrible choice for a second Sonic character, go for Tails, Eggman, or Knuckles. Or better yet, Snake.
Where's Lucas? Or Wolf?

My God...I will never comprehend how in the name of Arceus almighty how the Japanese are so damn good at Pokemon. I mean really, after setting up a strong set-up team with powerful type coverage and specially EV trained abilities, and I still barely scrape off with a win. And the thing is...I usually win against people outside of Japan, and have never lost against someone with a Legendary on their team...I don't get it...I should raise a Talonflame.

Kirby is most likely my 3rd, right behind Pokemon and Zelda. Metroid is a close tie though.

If it gave King Boo a chance to be in, I'd take it. Too bad he can't represent his own franchise though, but I know the reasons as to why that won't work. A man can dream though.

Luigi is too ingrained in the base Mario franchise for that to ever happen. I don't really want E. Gadd or King Boo, nor do I think they'll happen either.

Even without SSE, there's probably going to be a split in resources in handling two different systems as well as whatever Sakurai has in mind for extra features. I wouldn't expect it at this moment, at least not until we fully know what to expect from the games in terms of mechanics.

I'd be dissapointed that we lost Snake. And the Miis kinda annoy me with their presence. Takamaru I'd hardly be hype for. Then again, I wouldn't care at all since Ridley, Palutena, and Little Mac were in the game.

Although I'm raising an Absol for online use against Status users. Magic Bounce is so broken if used properly.

Aw man, my friend is OBSESSED with Malamar.
It's the only Pokémon (besides Agislash) that he talks about.
