I don't know. I just don't always see more popular and more requested characters as something you should rely on happening. Sometimes importance to a company's history isn't always how well you are currently received by the majority of fans/Smash fans. And Sakurai takes move potential into account too. I don't see any reason why not in this 4th installment as long as we don't have a lot of characters in the way.

Never said you did. But, XenoBlade clearly doesn't have more history with Nintendo. Even Starfy has more history with Nintendo.

I am an advocator of Nintendo Wars games gaining some form of recognition in Smash beyond an assist trophy. admittedly up until 2001, even later if you're from somewhere other than America, gaining a character wouldn't be in the series best interest as there weren't any major characters to pull from. even though it was a well established and long running Nintendo franchise, which it still is. that said the support for the series is minimal. my hope would be that the longevity of the franchise would gain light on a character like Andy over someone like say Shulk who 's chances are, imo, severely overestimated.

Xenoblade is mainly the potential part of what I was talking about. I see it becoming a huge thing. Especially if X is related to Xenoblade.

Plus Shulk is really popular all over the world.

Someone from Advance Wars could be interesting. If they happen to be implemented well enough that is. I can see various classes being used for special moves and stuff. Like riding a helicopter for recovery, and the blades will do damage on contact. Maybe a rocket launcher will be used for another special attack. But I'm ok with the series being repped with an assist trophy. A stage could also be cool to see too.

I don't understand why that's a problem. Isn't what's important that we are representing the series with a move set based on the weaponry of the series? Andy is just our main guy who you control.

no u misunderstand. im saying that previous to the introduction of Andy, there were no major characters in the series. it was essentially just u deploying units as opposed to u playing a commanding officer deploying units. understand?

No. We're representing the game. Isn't that what's important? Whatever character we use will still be a unit (which has always been in the series). The unit we pick just so happens to be the most recognizable one. It's just like having Mr. Game & Watch. Not a major character, but that's what appears the most. Except we do have a major character in this situation.

yeah idk about u but the idea of playing a generic foot soldier as opposed to a fleshed out character isn't as appealing to me. it's like playing a Waddle Dee to me. it just doesn't feel right considering the rest of the characters within the game. I support Andy but I couldn't support the Grunts

I'd rather be the "generic" soldier that actually does the fighting than the "fleshed out" mechanic.

u weren't reading what I said so I guess ill reword it. in 2001, when Melee came around, was when the Wars series was given real characters. previous to this I wouldn't have considered the series for a character representation because there weren't any real characters to use outside of a Grunt. now that's changed with Andy and Sami etc. I don't understand y u are arguing with me when I agree that Andy would be a good character.

Just curious why. I've done some research and this is a long running Nintendo series that's existed since NES. It seems to have a lot of potential too.

Really? I remember you saying how "undeserving" the Advance Wars franchise was of having a playable character not too long ago.
