The Spook Factor
I have never liked the idea of Nintendog being playable. I don't think it will ever be playable either.

Because a puppy would be very fun to play as and actually very diverse from the Smash cast. Why would Nintendogs warrant a character? Do you really want a realistic dog to be playable in Smash 4? Why is Nintendog even suggested in the first place?
Oh well, it's just another typical night on the Roster Discussion Thread.
And the we will have the most OP character in Smash and would be a pain in the a... to play against that.I would absolutely love to N in the game. Perhaps he could use Pokemon for all of his moveset, since he knows how to communicate with Pokemon and use them for certain tasks.
How about this, Nintendog is immune to all status effects and grabbing in Smash.
Philadelphia eagles mascot is an eagle, logo is an eagle. You seem to think Mascots/game protagonists are just as likely as icons and symbols. Explain yourself.
Like I said, it's balanced with the fact Nintendog has very weak attacks and very light to kill. It all works out well. And the we will have the most OP character in Smash and would be a pain in the a... to play against that.

Because Sakurai said Villager and Nintendog wouldn't work in Brawl... and since Sakurai changed his mind about Villager and added him in SSB4, people believe that Sakurai would change his mind about Nintendog and add it in SSB4.Why would Nintendogs warrant a character? BAHHHH. I AIN'T GOT NO EVIL TWIN! THAT RIGHT THERE IS A BUNCHA HOOPLA.No. That's old man Jones.
You're the neighbor.
You're Old Man Jones's evil twin.
Hey guys, I'm back and- GOOD LORD WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE!?
Eh still that you can´t grab it and even can´t hurt him with elemental attacks makes it really broken in some cases, for example if Bowser did try to breath fire and this fire hit the dog will it get hurt or because it has elemental protection against it it can pass that and hit Bowser?Like I said, it's balanced with the fact Nintendog has very weak attacks and very light to kill. It all works out well.
Diskun, N64 Logo, Sheriff, Nintendog, Dr. Kawashima, or Hanafuda... pick your poison.Hey guys, I'm back and- GOOD LORD!! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE!?
The thread exploded and the flames it started began to spread.Hey guys, I'm back and- GOOD LORD!! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE!?
Hmm... I can see the concern with this. Perhaps when it comes to elemental attacks, it will simply get pushed like Mario's F.L.U.D.D. with no damage.Eh still that you can´t grab it and even can´t hurt him with elemental attacks makes it really broken in some cases, for example if Bowser did try to breath fire and this fire hit the dog will it get hurt or because it has elemental protection against it it can pass that and hit Bowser?

That's far from being balanced and thankfully Sakurai would never do something like that even if he did put a Nintendog in the game as a fighter.Like I said, it's balanced with the fact Nintendog has very weak attacks and very light to kill. It all works out well.
It can still be hit by physical attacks, excluding grabbing.Basically what BluePikmin is suggesting is that Nintendog would be invincible as if it is under the Starman effect. Totally broken....
But still will not receive damage from that attack? And lets now think about Pit throwing arrows or Marth / Ike hitting it with the sword would the pup evade all that and get pushed without damage because if that is the case then those characters will not have any move in how to deal with Nintendog.Hmm... I would rather pick a set of other Pokemon than just a set of starters.OK NEW QUESTION THEN-
If you could choose any set of starters (a mix of different starters from different gens) for a new Pokemon Trainer, which would you choose? (three only, each in a different stage of it's evolution)
Why is Nintendog even suggested in the first place?
If they have to be different types, then:OK NEW QUESTION THEN-

Mewtwo and Lucario being crippled by a Pokemon Trainer would be very, very sad. They should remain as their own characters.I would rather pick a set of other Pokemon than just a set of starters.
I would pick Zoroark, Lucario, and Mewtwo.
This is a pretty hard balance idea to think of, I gotta be honest. But still will not receive damage from that attack? True. I'm a bit iffy on having Zoroark being part of N's team for my idea as well, but I think Reshiram/Zekrom/Zoroark fits N more than Reshiram/Zekrom/Kyurem.Mewtwo and Lucario being crippled by a Pokemon Trainer would be very, very sad. They should remain as their own characters.
What logic is this!?!? I think you're stupidity is physically hurting me!Philadelphia eagles mascot is an eagle, logo is an eagle.
How about this: The Nintendog acts like a normal character and doesn't get a special treatment complete with invulnerability to certain types of attacks just because it's a realistic dog! This is a pretty hard balance idea to think of, I gotta be honest.
And no I don't think Nintendog would evade that. The puppy can still be hit by physical attacks.
How about this. If you're not going to give him the same privileges of a playable character, WHY DON'T YOU MAKE HIM AN ASSIST TROPHY!!!! Oh, wait! This is a pretty hard balance idea to think of, I gotta be honest.
And no I don't think Nintendog would evade that. The puppy can still be hit by physical attacks.
Dosen´t sounds to you weird that you can't set on fire, electrocute, poison or freeze the Puppy but you can hit it with arrows, swords and bats? For me it would seem really drastic to hit the poor puppy with those objects XD.This is a pretty hard balance idea to think of, I gotta be honest.
And no I don't think Nintendog would evade that. The puppy can still be hit by physical attacks.
Yeah, I agree I guess. At least it has the appeal of a dog fighting in Smash Bros. How about this: The Nintendog acts like a normal character and doesn't get a special treatment complete with invulnerability to certain types of attacks just because it's a realistic dog!
I'm just trying a new sort of balance for a character. I know it can work, but it's hard to find exactly how to do it.Dosen´t sounds to you weird that you can't set on fire, electrocute, poison or freeze the Puppy but you can hit it with arrows, swords and bats? For me i would seem really drastic to hit the poor puppy with those objects XD.

Duuurrr, nobody predicted Wii Fit Trainer from the iconic and great selling Wii Fit Game! So AAAAAAAANYBODY IS POSSIBLE!People need to calm down about oddball characters. Sakurai isn't going to throw a handful of them just because Wii Fit Trainer is in.
Gazoontite! The appeal of a dog fighting in Smash Bros.
Now ya see? This boy gets it. He knows what's what. I can appreciate that. One of dem young people who knows how us old fellers is feelin. The Nintendog is a pretty lousy idea to begin with, but the dog being the only character unaffected by a sizable chunk of attacks violates Sakurai's criteria that characters must fit into Smash's gameplay, rather than forcing Smash's gameplay to change so as to accommodate them.
Also, Sakurai choosing WFT =/= Sakurai is "looking for Casual Reps" and will rubberstamp any and all of them into the game because they're "unique"
We were only discussing moveset potential for Nintendog. Not even talking about his chances at the moment. How about this: WE QUIT TALKING ABOUT NINTENDOG. HE AIN'T HAPPENING, PERIOD.
Like Ninten, Skull Kid, and Diskun?Duuurrr, nobody predicted Wii Fit Trainer from the iconic and great selling Wii Fit Game! So AAAAAAAANYBODY IS POSSIBLE!![]()
I don't support it, but I'm not completely ruling it out, either. I assume Nintendog has around a 5% or 2% chance at the moment.Leaving Old Man Jones aside for a second, I really don't think Nintendog would make any sense as a character. Not only would that be a potential lawsuit from PETA (and would probably disgust people in general), but there are several better characters to choose from.
Why does Morbid Altruism like posts that attack or disagree withWhy did BluePikmin like this post?
