This might be a thing.
However, there are MANY, MANY hurdles to jump over.

Smashville's platform, particle effects, special zoom-ins. These and more will be a heavy cross to bear.
But if it can work.

My guess is not for at least another 6 months.

This seems like it would get immediately DMCA'd on completion given that Nintendo now generates revenue from online subscriptions.
