Get that Animethon tourney in the title!

Oh and this scene is going to die pretty soon if we don't do something. We have maybe 11 people now? The only people who I've seen talking to new people were Brandon and Jack. While it's a good approach I think we need more than that to actually get them to stay in the community. The big thing that comes to mind is actually playing with the new players and and actually giving them advice. What I've noticed at tournaments is the older and more skilled players tend to ignore the new players and only play amongst themselves. The only time we actually play with the new players is in tournaments, where we tend to absolutely destroy them and take their money. Maybe a good way to do this is to talk about smashfest at tournaments instead of bringing them up only on smashboards. Although, I think we should only mention the next RPS tournament at animethon to avoid a mass mob of people going to someones house. Mentioning a smashfest the next RPS tournament would probably be a good idea. Anyways that's my last 2 cents before I retire from singles.Bahbye

and I think we should still do side events even if one player doesn't want to do it =/

Just advertise the crap out of RPS at taste of animethon and other cons like that. a lot of people there play smash bros and as long as you dont treat them like total noobs they wont get scared away.

also yeah, if you could get me my controller at taste of animethon that would be greatly appreciated.

BTW anyone going to TOA that has a vehicle I would greatly appreciate a ride so I could bring a couple set ups

Agreed Mark, and you're quitting singles? That's a shame.

And as I was saying about Taste of Animethon, we should definitely get a setup count.

I usually bring my TV while Brandon brings his Wii. But I noticed at this tourney we had one additional TV without a Wii, so if needed I can bring my Wii as well.

I'm still going to animethon because it's animethon but I'm gonna stop entering RPS singles. I might enter once in awwhile =/ I can bring a tv to animethon if I get a ride. But IIRC we barely had any room last time for the TVs we did have.

If everyone could bring all the TV's and Wii's we have to ToA, we'll probably have enough for doubles and singles. I'll edit the title right now.

and I think we should still do side events even if one player doesn't want to do it =/
You didn't want to do a side-event at all - I had to convince you and Luke, and the only one I could convince you to do was a quick low-tier crews. When we couldn't make fair teams for a crews match because Jack wanted to practice, several other people lost interest as well.

I'm starting to upload the videos now. (CanadaBrawl)

Pools is edited and encoding right now, but it'll take a while (I managed to edit over 2 hours worth of pools matches down to 1:35, but it's still a lot).

OSHI- I missed an edit in Doubles Winners' Finals.

All the videos are up, btw. Please view and 'like' to your hearts' content.

Doubles Grand Finals will be the featured video, 'cause Luke made Jack look free in GF's. ( ゚ Д゚)

Playlist.

Would anyone be able to hand out or post up flyers for ToA? Steve has this slick flyer, and the more people we can attract, the better.

I'll be printing off the flyers for the Feb tournament to hand out a ToA this week, too.

So Japan people... I was talking to my friend at work who lived in Japan for most his life and now goes there every year. He's willing to make up a list of go to places while we're there D:

Hahah, I'll get you the location and whatnot in a bit here. Besides, we're all grown men. Not like we need to be around each other all the time.

More then likely I'll have Keith with me for that, but we can at least keep a hold of each other throughout the day. Also, I know that it's in Kyoto and that's all I know right now.

I somehow expect BB to turn out like last animethon:

5 people, 360, no DLC, one TV.

I hope not. I've been practicing new Ragna combos, including actually utilizing Blood Kain.

Rest assured, I'm gonna be fresh and ready for BBCSEX

Knowing you, Kyle. You'll probably beat me with Mu anyway if you use her on me. I'm not that good yet. I mean, there's only so much my "no fear" rushdown style can do before you realize "I'm a zoner." lol

I'm gonna make it a point though to try and be in the top 3 (if we only have like, 5 people or something lol) or the top 5 if we have a lot more people.

Hey guys, I talked with the Fort Mac dudes coming down, and passed on the link to this thread.

I'll be able to house them (couch and air mattress in the basement), but there won't be room in my car with the TV's.

Until I can work something out, is there anyone who'd be able to give two guys a ride from my place (South-West siiiiiiiiiiiiide) to the tournament? I can pick them up from the bus stop and what-not, but there won't be room in my car when we're going to the tournament.

Sweeeeet; now that's worked out.

I printed off 50 copies of the flyer today, so that we can hand them out to everyone at the ToA tourney.
