A little back story on this old video from 2001 - the gorilla here, Koko, can understand human speech and can express many things via human sign language. It's childhood friend (a fellow gorilla) had passed away six months prior to this video.
It's time with Robin Williams, however, was the first time it smiled or laughed after the passing of it's friend. It also recognised him from his movies.
The man truly was a gift not only to humanity, but also to the planet Earth as a whole.
