While I admit that Ridley being an AT is now a possibility, I feel quite positive about his chances. While Goroh was a big character in F-Zero, there are many other racers who would fit in Brawl from the series and his position in the F-Zero isn't comparable to Ridley's position in the Metroid series (and Sakurai himself stated that Ridley is Samus' main enemy, making him the most important character in the series after her). Not to mention Goroh was just another swordsman, but you'd be incredibly hard pushed to find any other character whose even vaguely similar to Ridley. And nothing against the F-Zero franchise, but the Metroid series is much bigger (and iirc, Sakurai only picked out one F-Zero character in his poll, while there were a few Hunters and Ridley picked out for Metroid).

Can't say I'm not a little bit nervous, but I faith in Ridley.

I do think that Ridley is still more likely as a playable, but I must admit that I do have some worry in me. But, the fact that almost EVERYONE on the board instantaneously feared the same thing upon seeing Goroh at least gives me a little faith that he's too popular to become an AT.

True, but Arch nemesis is a far more significant title than rival (and let's be honest, CF has his fair share of them, and he's not on the same protagonist level as Samus is). Ridley also has far more potential than Goroh did in terms of a playable character, potential I don't think Sakurai would want to waste.

I think it's okay to be a little worried, but I don't think Ridley's chances have been hurt as much as others are making out.

really don't worry. i saw the update, and had MORE faith of Ridley's playable appearance, cause now less deserving characters *cough, Tingle, Tom Nook, cough* will be AT, leaving the highly deserved characters, which includes our fearsome Ridley, a better chance of playability

I think that Ridley will be in Brawl, and not an AT.
The "Ridley for Brawl" Thread has 161 pages as I am posting this. That's a lot of support. I think that Sakurai knows Ridley is a much wanted character for a position in Brawl. The more support for a character, the more Sakurai is tilted to put them into the game.

I think I would rather have them come out randomly when you break a barrel...kind of like how they randomly explode, have metroids come out and go nuts all over the stage..or simply just attach to one person and cause damage...
