Ridley for SSBB

I'm not usually one to disaggree, but although Ridley would be cool, he's just too big. And I think seeing a shrunken-down Ridley would be even more stupid.

I didn't know either. Smaller ridley wouldn't look ********, He was only just taller than samus in the first place but then for some reason (to make him more intimidating?), in the prime games and more recent other metroids he was enlarged to the huge monster that he is now well known as, he would look fine as a small char, as a sort of fast-med ariel favouring character with either fireballs or an energy beam attack (like in prime, though that was metalridley). As he said QFT-Bowser, he's meant to be massive (in fact his size has changed so much over the years I'm not sure anyone knows how big he's meant to be) but got shrunken in melee and still looks awesome, if not more so.

Ridley wouldn't need to be shrunken down to the point where he looks weak and less intimidating, nor does he have to remain as big as he is in his games. (Especially not as huge as in the GBA games. He's MASSIVE in those games.) Make him a bit taller than Bowser in height, but take advantage of his physique so he can be large, but not ridiculous.

As for Ridley's colors, I'm actually not worried if he ends up Purplish. Why?

Strangely enough, Ridley has enough alternate colors to satisfy anybody, AND these colors would remain true to the game.

Purplish - Smash Bros. Colors
Dark Greyish - Super Metroid colors (Full strength) / Metroid ZM colors
Pinkish - Super Metroid (Weaker strength)
Blueish - Original color / Metroid Fusion Color

Heck, we can even have a silver-like color to represent Meta-Ridley.

Actually, he's purple in the original, kind of a dark blue in the Melee intro, and pink for his trophy. He's bright red on the Super Metroid cover, though.

And don't forget his alternate Meta costume.

If Meta-Ridley were to be a clone character, it would be cool to instead make Meta-Ridley a costume and replace the fireballs with missiles. In fact, a lot of clones could be done that way.

yes he's cool but you can talk about that in the thread designated for it, this one is for ridley, sorry. Also yeah I forgot about multiple colours, they could easily have purp, grey, blue, red and even a meta one (the missile thing would be cool bu when does meta ridley fire missiles? Also they would have to keep the stats exactly the same for the fireballs and missiles otherwise one would end up being better than the other.

If you actually look, Ridley isn't very large as in well built, he's quite thin for his size, so I'd expect him to be tall and imposing due to his wings but not a large heavy like bowser, he'd be more of a medium speed/weight,

I think you guys hit it on the nail for Ridley's physical attributes.

Meta-Ridley, however, would more likely just be a specialised color/design variation for Ridley ala Blood Falcon for C. Falcon in SSBM.

Getting really excited hoping that he'll be in it, we've given great reasons for it, even designed our own moves and stats, even colours. So far the peple who say he can't go in have only said, well he can't because he can't, he doesn't fit in (which he does).

Maybe if we convinced SamuraiPanda, he would translate these movesets, or help us find a way to get them noticed by Mr. Sakurai. There's gotta be some way to at least get him thinking a little more about Ridley. Maybe he already is, but I won't be convinced until I see solid proof. (That consideration list doesn't seem strong enough...)

I think Ridley from Metroid (about Samus's size) should be playable and Meta-Ridley should be a boss and possibly in an event match or 2

If you check a couple of pages back, I posted something about Ridley being seen in a refection off Samus' helmet. I gave a link too. Check it out Anomilus. Its not a guarantee that he's in it, but it is almost a guarantee that they are thinking about him.

If you zoom in close, that object reclected off of Samus' helmet bears resemblence to a distorted image of Ridley - it even appears to have spread out wings and his pointed head. Could just be coincidence, but it does make you wonder...

Ridley is one of the newcomers with the highest chances to be in this game. As people have said before, they could scale him down and they need more metroid characters anyway.

Ahem. On topic, if Kirby and Solid Snake can peacefully co-exist/beat the crap out of each other, I see no reason why Ridley can't join the fray. The scaling argument is pretty silly IMO.

Off topic: I think Vanessa's on there twice. 1st pic looks like Papillon suit.

On topic: The reflection looks vagely like Ridley, but what I interpret as the head (almost in the middle, the part that looks otherwise like an oddly shaped ring) is lacking an important feature for Ridley: the crest at the back of his head.

The trophies, the Meta-Knight picture, and all incarnations of Ridley (except possibly Ridley X...*shudder*) all show his head shaped kinda like a 'T'
If that's his head in the reflection, it's shaped like a 'r'. Missing the crest.

Ergo, it's my professional yet oh-so-humble opinion that it's landscape, not Ridley.
