I've been watching a few match vids of pretty good Luigis (particularly Boss, i love the commentary on the ECRC matches) and noticed something interesting about using Rising Tornado for recovery. Somehow, he was able to retain his second jump and use it after tornado'ing almost to the stage, I thought you had to use the second jump to get Rising Tornado?

Wishing Apex 2012 happened again.
Depends, you don't have to, but using the second jump and rising tornado gives a higher height but you can alone mash the B button and still rise with the tornado but not as far as the usage of the second jump/Nado. But you retain the second jump which can prove useful in situations.

If you spam b you rise. It goes farther the more upward momentom you have. What boss probably did was button mash b befor he used the jump. Answer your question?

Going on with what Hippie said. Tornado has such a ridiculous height + doesn't sweet spot, actually makes it bad to use most of the time. A rising tornado sans 2nd Jump gives you enough air for an UpB or 2nd jump to stage. Of course, because the tornado is kind of slow, you might want to skip it altogether.

Mashing B to do that requires the thumb of God however, or maybe i'm just bad at it..

Yeah, I don't really use it that much.
I'm not sure if it s tourny legal. I think it depends on the tourny.

Actually hippie, you can rise the same height without using your second jump. I still don't have the dexterity to do so, but some of the other Luigi users in Puerto Rico do it and believe me it works better than using second jump followed by tornado for recovery.

If Turbo was legal, I'd be all over that. Seriously I need some WIGI's magic finger strength so I can start improving my edgegame.

Yeah because the mouse shoots back up where as the b button doesn't have that effect.

Delta, you play Ace Attorney? Or just a good picture?

Wait, so how fast do you need to be hitting the b button to rise. Ill try it without jumping and I just hover there, maybe go up a VERY little bit, but thats all... does it help if you side b to stop some of the down momentum before you use it?

and di wont help you rise at all right? Like I can just mash b and it will work fine?
It's obviously more helpful to conserve your second jump, because you gain so much more height and it's easier to control away from the stage. But this is essential for making those few recoveries to save a stock that normally would be lost.

One thing i've been thinking is to change L, the shoulder button i don't use to B to mash moar buttons. I didn't get any higher, i still dunno if it is because this doesn't work or because i'm bad. I just wanted to share and see :/

Yeah, I got that, I just didnt know how to rise with tornado w/o having to jump first. I thought maybe their was some secret that I should have figured out myself but couldn't, but apparently there isn't...:dizzy:
