Pitbulls are pretty darn loyal. I wish to get one when I grow up. I couldn't take watching past 10 seconds of that video though. I'm a dog person.

Sadly, my state is one of few that hasn't completely outlawed Dog Fights and we are one of two that allows **** fighting. You'd be surprised how many dead animals can be found here.

My family owns a Lab/Pitbull mix. Labs are always really nice, and Pitbulls are known for being angry and all that ish. The dog is generally a psycho, he freaks out on people if he doesn't know them or when they first show up to our house but as soon as you let him smell your hand and give him a pat on the head, he's your best friend.

One of the few videos linked on SWF that didn't make me think I just wasted a couple of minutes of my life. I've never been so close to wanting a dog, and that's saying something.

It's sad seeing people selfishly use other living beings for their own benefit.

On the blue planet next to the sun, can't miss it!
"And all dogs involved in attacks will be DESTROYED?"

I hope to God that was a misprint. Really I do. I just can't see Terriers fending off the childrens. maybe Collies but not Terriers

Edit: In response to Crimson King's post: You mean chicken fights? I hate to sound inhumane but I wanna see that!

Wow. Just wow.

What an incredibly strong video.
Yeah I found it powerful aswell... Im a huge dog lover and my aunt owned a pitbull for some time so I know it to be true, its how you raise the dog...

Of course some dogs will just be naturally violent, mental disorders and such, but I dont think its specific to a breed persay.

It takes a pretty callous humanbeing to do this to a dog... It sickens me.

People do these things to cats as well
(I've read papers telling about how kittens are just thrown into a bag and left to die in the water)

Only thing is I read about it happening to cats more, I don't really read about cat fights though, I just read about people throwing them out as "waste."

That's sad....

but it's not as bad as what can happen to human children.

"[Jill Stanek] was shocked to discover that the hospital offered induced labor abortions, also known as “live-birth abortions.” These cause a pregnant woman to deliver a premature baby who dies during or just after the birth process.

As a delivery room RN, Jill witnessed healthy, born-alive premature babies set aside to die alone. Many survived for hours—one for almost eight hours.

She encountered a co-worker taking a Down’s Syndrome baby, aborted but still alive, to the hospital’s Soiled Utility Room. The parents didn’t want to hold him and the nurse was too busy. Jill couldn’t let this suffering child die alone, discarded in a room for soiled laundry. At 21 to 22 weeks old, he weighed around eight ounces and measured a mere 10 inches long. She cradled and rocked him for his entire 45 minute existence outside the womb. When he died, she wrapped him in a tiny shroud, and carried him to the hospital morgue.

Other co-workers had similar experiences, including one instance in which a baby born larger than expected was left to die. Another, wrapped in a disposable towel and left in a Soiled Utility Room, fell off the counter into a garbage basket, and was not discovered until hours later. Another baby, misdiagnosed with spina bifida, was born with spine intact, but was still left to die."

Dude people do sick things to kids who are in good health
I saw a video clip of how 2 parents "punished" their kids, they locked them up into a small cage!
Another Example of Child Abuse I have read about (I only read about it in the 3rd ed. of my Abnormal Psychology book, they took it out of the 4th for some reason) talked about this mom who made her kid drink out of the toilet and forced him to "sleep" in a closet. It turns out that this kid was about 14 when SS found him however he looked much younger...

Yep. That sums up people for ya. I don't understand some things, if you can't take good care of a pet, why get it in the first place?

I know of a person who had a dog, they just kept it outside all the time, it was lonely. They heard it barking and yelping outside, and they jst thought it wanted attention(and didn't bother to give it that), so after a few hours when they went outside they found it tangled up in its leash, dead.

My mom told me a story once, when she was a kid she had a dog. It had a few babies, and the dad(always on drugs)took the dog to the basement, made her watch her puppies get thrown against a wall and die, and then she was taken out and shot.

People let anger go too far with these things, as horrible as it is, it already happened, you couldn't stop that specific case. So beating them or something is just hypocritical. Even though they deserve it, it's just out of hand. And what a thing to do to your own kid, leave it to die. Man, I don't know what people expect nowadays.

I was aware stuff like this happens, it's pretty common, I see stuff like that on TV a few times, and stories. Again, I really don't understand why people have a pet or anything that takes resonsibility and get angry with it. Every now and then at the select few forums I visit something like this will pop up...people are so dang weird. Funny to think you can't understand your own kind.

I understand why the 2 dogs will be put down, they are violent, they've probably tasted blood now so there's no going back. I'm not an animal person so I don't have any experiences.

As for dog fighting, I've never seen or heard of it here but it must be horrible. Guys fight chickens around here for money all the time, I never fought chickens, never planned to. It's a waste of money and it's inhumane.
