Rayman 3 design confirmed.

I'm sure it has to, since that Smash trophy model is too low-rez to be used and proportions are weird...
Truth be told, I wouldn't even mind that. I kind of have a soft spot for the Rayman 1 design though.
If he were to get a new model, maybe they'd have Ubisoft make that one too, lol.

You know, I have a thought. Rayman's design pretty much changes for almost every major game. For the next game, I wonder if he'll be getting another redesign or not.

Not sure if good or bad...I mean, I can understand changing from the classic bug eyed version to the newer design...but, what else could they do now?... Curious with this, really...

Do you know what I find funny about this picture?

If you were to compare Rayman to these characters, Rayman is actually the only one who is being treated correctly by their parent company.

SHAY RAY.jpg

Chorus: "Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, miserere nobis."

Rayman: "What language is that?"

Shay: "It is Latin , Rayman."

Rayman: "Really...? Are you sure, Master Shay?"

Shay: "Of course I'm sure, why do you ask?"

Rayman: "...Because when the creator of my World speaks it, I only hear "Bububub bu ba bu"..."

@ SuperSegaSonicSS SuperSegaSonicSS xD I still remember when we talked about Polokus speaking "Pig Latin", and I will totally put Shay in my Assassin Ray project.

To be fair, Sonic Boom has been stated to be a completely separate branch from the main series. The other two, though....
To be fair, Sega has been giving the franchise a bad reputation by making bad games and too many characters.
Do you honestly think Sonic is being treated better than Rayman?
Just curious.

Not at all, and that's coming from a huge Sonic fan. The point I was trying to make is that Sega can just forget Sonic Boom exists if they want, while Capcom just refuses to announce anything Mega Man related, and the new Pac-Man is pretty much here to stay. Rayman's definitely the only one who's been treated right throughout, Rabbids aside.

Sonic Generations was a fantastic game.

Also before origins he was in the same spot as the other 3. Rabbids were crazy man.
Colors doesn't get enough love. :(
And that's a good point, Rayman was only really related to those games in name only, except for the first one.

The new Sonic and Pac-Man... Kill. Them. With. FIRE. And Rayman got thrown out for a few years in favor of brain-dead rabbits.

Ok. Sorry if I came out as rude.
Yes, even though Rayman had to deal with the Rabbids, Sonic has been through worse. Let's just be thankful Rayman hasn't had to kiss a woman or wield a sword to fight.;)

It's alright, I probably should have elaborated better.
And yeah, some of Sonic's recent games... let's not mention them, lol.

This is great. And yeah, I remember that, and I still find it weird and funny, honestly.

Anyways, awesome work as always Andrea, And that's great to hear, Glad Shay and Ray are going to be in the same story you got. I hope to see more come out of it.

:) Yup, hopefully more of the ideas I have for that will come out of it, and I will be able to make a more consistant story.

And thank you.

This is why I've lost interest in Sonic in general. No offense to any Sonic fans here.

I love his Legends design; so simplistic, colourful, and happy. I'd love to see it translated into a good 3D platformer for the next generation.

Possibly a bit too happy...but well, as long as he doesn't go any further "happy" in the later games, that's fine enough. But I'll forever miss sarcastic Ray...

As neat as that would be, I'd be a little skeptical to see if they could actually pull it off. Not all 3D transitions end well for some designs.

Yet again, I agree, but it is Ubi's decision if they want to keep him like that, and like you, I will always miss the 3 original designs and how they were, cheerful (not going to the extreme), sarcastic, serious, energetic and all that.

*Extreme.

It just makes me think, would Rayman still have been like that if Rayman 4 (whether it be the Rayman 1 designed game or the Zombie Rabbid kinda game) didn't get cancelled...

Probably, specially seeing how he kicked the Rabbid's butt in that old trailer.

From what I've read, Rayman in Origins and Legends isn't stupid, just a guy who's dedicated to his job yet still having a bit fun. The whole stupid thing came from when Origins was going to be an Origin story, but that was scrapped.

Still, I do miss the sarcastic Rayman as well, I always sort of compared him to Raphael of Ninja Turtles.

So, you're saying he's kinda "cocky" in a way? Does what needs to be done but thinks it's no trouble and feels over confident in his abilities is why he's acts that way?...

Well, glad that the original story did get scrapped then .__., but yeah, oh well. At least I still got my image of Rayman, the sarcastic little bugger he is in my heart...

Sort of, maybe a little less cocky, and a bit more "this is fun."

I was disappointed the original story got scrapped, it was a prequel to Rayman 1, and told the story of how Rayman and Globox went from immature pests to the heroes they are today.

Just realizing it now, one of the cool things about Rayman is that you can imagine him anyway you want. I have a similar image to Rayman as yours.

I played a bit of Rayman: Hoodlum's Revenge on an emulator at some point, and the first things I was loving about that game was how Rayman's attitude was, so sarcastic about anything Murfy said to him, and well, Murfy always pointing out the obvious gave Ray the reason for talking sarcastic with him so much. But I loved that, and shows a characteristic about Ray I really did love...

Exactly my thought....that's why Origin's and Legend's story bugs me, because they made a kind of redical change to Rayman's personality mostly. Unless, I don't know, Ubi can say that he changed because he slept too much...

That's a bad excuse at changing his personality. Most of the time, a personalty change is when things are for the most part, rebooted. *CoughOtherMcough* *coughSonicBoomcough*

Which kind of makes me worried about if the story of any Rayman game will be bare bones minimal ala Origins and Legends.
