My Satisfaction/Interest/Hype from Nintendo's stuff:

Skylanders Super Chargers: 1/5 I ever cared about Skylanders.

Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival: 3/5 While the thought of an Animal Crossing board game is nice, amiibos will be ridiculous as always and no new Animal Crossing game is really disappointing.

Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer: 4/5 I hope they implement things from this in the next Animal Crossing game... >w>

Fire Emblem Fate: 1/5 We already knew this stuff...

Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem: 1/5 We already knew this stuff too...

Hyrule Warriors Legends: 1/5 Leak really ruined this.

Legend of Zelda: Triforce Heroes: 3/5 Okay, I guess...

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam: 4/5.

Mario Tennis Ultra: 3/5

Metroid Prime: Federation Force: 1/5 I've never played a Metroid game nor do I really want to so...Yeah...

Star Fox Zero: 1/5 Personally, I haven't cared about the Star Fox franchise since the N64...

Super Mario Maker: 1/5 Really don't care about this... =n=

Xenoblade Chronicles X: 3/5 They should a date.

Yo-Kai Watch: 4/5 Well, I predicted one thing right. ;w;

Yoshi's Wolly World: 1/5 I'm really annoyed that NA doesn't get this game til October, while everywhere else gets it in June or July.

Nintendo's E3 as a whole: 1/5 :B

Are we still doing nominations? If so:

Yes. For one, the Mario and Luigi series has run on too long. This game feels like a bad fan idea. "Hey, here is two Mario RPG series. Lets do a crossover." Paper Mario is cool because its an interesting RPG with a cool battle machanic with a unique paper mottif. Having random paper stuff inside a normal world looks very off. Paper Mario himself looks very weird next to normal Mario and Luigi. The entire thing looks like a cheap budget title. A lot of the games they showed off this year feel like they should have not gotten past the concept stage. I feel the same about Zelda as well.
Respectable opinion. It was just a bit surprising when that was the real first negative reception I've heard for the title. Then again, it and Tri-Force Heroes were the 2 new titles that I actually got excited for.

Alright we're back to ratings, please rate your satisfaction scores with the following:
1. Roy
2. Ryu
3. The SSB mini direct.
4. The Nintendo direct.
5. All of E3 including 3rd party titles.
1. Roy
98%
He's back with his old voice actor, COOLER than ever... what more can i say. :roymelee::roypm::4feroy:

2. Ryu
65%
Ah where to start with this one? A interesting character concept but i expected Ryu to come in simple and with a EX attack gauge. That massive fail thread i made in his forums doesn't help at all either. Makes me sad, really. The new Suzaku Castle stage is pretty, though.

Not rating the Directs

5. E3
27%

Yadda yadda yadda. I'm taking the side of haters of E3. Starfox Zero i might get, Mario Maker meh, New Zelda MP game shouldnt exist, Why is there a Metroid spinoff, Mario and Paper Mario looks interesting, whatever else naah. Where's that cute Monster Hunter Diary game i want to see in the US for some reason?

EDIT!!! : I shouldve mentioned that i AM going to want Xenoblade X, FE Fates, and Hyrule Warriors 3DS ( never picked up the Wii U game ). Ugh.

Bonus 6. Mii Costumes
85%

Thaaaank you very much for the Heihachi costume. And all the other costumes.

:4feroy:: 70% He's OK, but can be annoying to go up against.

:4ryu:: I.. don't own him yet...:(

Smash Direct: 70%
It was down to a 50% due to lack of Wolf, but after today's disaster, this looks like a work of art, though still that leak really knocked some hype of the direct.

NWC: 100% Best part.

Digital Event: 20%
Starfox Zero and Mario and Luigi Paper Jam, were the only 2 titles that intrigued me, if I was going to be disappointed about the digital event, then I'd have wanted it to be solely for lack of Wolf, but boy it was not worth waking up early to watch this piece of ****. Also there's a petition to get federation force cancelled, https://www.change.org/p/nintendo-petition-for-cancelation-of-metroid-prime-federation-force ...

Overall E3: 50%
Aside from 2 titles I have nothing to be hyped for.

Roy - 80%

For being a semi-clone of Marth with T3H PH1R3, I enjoyed Roy quite a bit and he plays different enough from Marth and Lucina to warrant the purchase.

Ryu - 95%

I like Street Fighter, but this was essentially my initial reaction to the Ryu sound file leak:

Wait... What?! Ryu?! When Street Fighter V is going to be exclusive to PS4 and PC?! In the same Smash Bros. game that doesn't even feature Snake?! Okay then.
First of all, before anyone explains to me that Ryu and Street Fighter are vastly more significant to Nintendo's history than Snake and Metal Gear ever have been, I know. I just didn't think Nintendo would want to promote an upcoming game on competing platforms when their own console is struggling, which is often speculated to be one of the reasons why Snake was removed to begin with.

Speaking of Snake and advertising competing platforms, remember when he was included in Brawl while accompanied with content from the then-upcoming, PS3-exclusive MGS4? Now, is there Street Fighter V content awkwardly featured in Smash 4? Nope. Nothing but Street Fighter II nostalgia grabbing, and that game (along with its revisions) was an SNES console seller.

That aside, I've been enjoying Ryu's playstyle, and the beautiful locale that is Suzaku Castle from Street Fighter II is a stage I find myself revisiting often. The music is great as well, including original Street Fighter II composer Yoko Shimomura's stellar arrangement of Ryu's theme among others. However, Guile's theme is sorely missing, which is why I'm taking 5% off.

Smash Presentation - 95%

Roy, Ryu, Lucas, Virtua Fighter Mii costumes, AND a Zero Mii costume? If none of this information weren't all leaked beforehand, then I would have rated the Smash Direct 100%.

EDIT: Hyrule Castle 64 is back!

E3 (Both Nintendo and in general) - 60%

Aside from Xenoblade X and Star Fox release dates along with some surprise announcements from Sony and Microsoft, meh.

:4feroy:: 5% I find him to be a justified inclusion due to his former vet status, even if it ruins even further the representation problems I see. Though, me finding him justified doesn't mean I like him at all. In fact, I detest him. Don't get me wrong though, I'm happy for his fans, but I really can't get past my old feelings about him, which ironically, his fanbase spawned.
:4ryu:: 80% I like him for the mechanical depth he brings, but the real magic here is seeing the smile on my brother's face when he played him for the first time.
:4lucas:: 100% He was my former secondary in Brawl, and I love Mother 3, why would I not be happy?

Smash direct: 50% was kinda ruined by the leak.

Not rating Direct because I have no clue which one your speaking about. Chibi-Robo one?

E3 as a whole: 10%
I'm going to be honest, I'm :salt: as hell right now. Only things I were remotely interested in was Mario and Luigi: Paper Jam and Star Fox: Zero, you'd think Nintendo would learn to hold some of their cards for E3, like I dunno, maybe hold :4ryu: for E3 instead of releasing him literally 2 days before the event.

Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei still doesn't make sense, like what on earth was going on, the trailer doesn't explain anything, all I hear is random Japanese gibberish in a song.

I feel bad for all the :wolf: supporters that were so sure they'd see him today, although this result of him not being shown was pretty easy to see coming.

I'm quite upset that neither Pokemon, Pikmin or Kirby got anything new, anyone of those got even a slight little thing and I'd be happy, but nope, Animal Crossing Party apparently is the bigger priority. Especially Kirby , I thought Reggie teased it with the whole nintendo's about transforming bit.:urg:

I also feel bad for all the Metroid fans who were expecting the next big game, I'm sure some are happy, but this is kind of underwhelming.

:4feroy: Our Boy

Rating: 100%
Was fairly sour with the fact that Fire Emblem got another character but once I started using him again I just forgot about that and it brought me back to my melee days...He feels really solid so far and he's got some decent combos to work with...and he's definitely an aggressive character, he surprising is quite nimble, which I guess benefits his blade gimmick since it helps him get right in your face

In fact Falco's gotten better with the patch as well, haven't used him since then but if I like how he plays then it'll be like melee all over again with Link, Falco, Roy being my top three...cept I have ZSS, Yoshi, and Greninja to work with as well...

----

:4ryu:HADOUKEN!!!!!
Rating: 90%
Another solid character, it's taking a bit of getting used to since you have to master the classic inputs to take full advantage of his moveset...His recovery is his biggest weakness but his options on the ground and in the air are just insane so far...

He's got way too many options, especially since you can use different attacks based on whether or not you hold the button or apply certain inputs...He's going to be a top tier character I reckon, just based on his sheer number of options...I imagine a large number of smash players are familiar with his play in street Fighter so I'd imagine they'd pick him up fairly easily...

----

The SSB Mini Direct
Rating: 70%
This would've been a lot higher if not for the leaks...I mean other than the 64 stages (HYRULE CASTLE HYPE!!!!) we pretty much knew everything that was going to happen...

Which makes me ask this question: How insane would it have been if we weren't previously spoiled by the leaks? Just think about it...The direct starts with the four Fire Emblem fighters which are shortly joined by melee veteran Roy (who tells :4roy: to step aside with a sword to the face)...with several other neat stuff thrown in between then meet with a figure in the dark that looks as if he's ready for a fight! Just take that in and think about how people would react if we weren't expecting it...

Also....I want my :4falco: amiibo badly.....like really badly....

The Nintendo Direct
Rating: 35%
Was a bit of a let down, not gonna lie...Probably because most of us were expecting a lot more than we got, even though we are very sure that nintendo may be holding back on us...

-Star Fox Zero was pretty much the 'star' of the show with it's reveal, and I gotta say I'm pretty impressed (save for no Wolf reveal, in the trailer if you blink you'll miss him) and I like how they're pretty much rebooting the series, since after Adventures it was pretty much starting to drop off a bit...still no word on the fate of Krystal, but seeing as she is unlikely to have a notable role in this game pretty much burns her chances as a smash fighter
-I know Zelda Wii U was stated to not be shown at E3 this year but it is still a big letdown...The Triforce Heroes game, I mean...didn't see it coming...but still have mixed feelings about it, it's cool that they are probably gonna work off of the ALBW style for the toony Zelda games from now on which is pretty cool, but I'm still not sure about the whole Three/Four/Twenty Links gimmick...seemed ok for one or two games but is wearing itself out...(I just want my Zelda U)...I guess this'll hold us out until then but...if this game was the reason Zelda U got delayed then I'm rioting X(...
-Hyrule Warriors Legends 3DS is pretty cool with Tetra and King Hyrule (too bad we were spoiled once again, these leakers gotta stahp!)
-Xenoblade X, was kinda underwhelming since they just showed the trailer without much talk about what's going on with the game like they did for Star Fox and Mario Maker
-Fire Emblem Fates, still had the urge to call it IF because I was getting used to that name but Fates works too...Looks interesting so far...
-Metroid Prime: Federation Force and Blast Ball........well we got a metroid game revealed...not..what we were expecting but it's Metroid, i guess...I'm not gonna completely write off the game just yet since, I only saw a 1 minute trailer for it (didn't catch any gameplay during the Livestream) and it does seem to look fun, also worth noting that it seems to take after Prime directly in terms of gameplay...But we shall see what happens after we know more or after I play the game before passing judgement...(but still a little bit disappointed because....NEEDS MOAR SAMUS!!!!!)
-Yoshi's Wooly World, SAMUS AMIIBO YOSHI!!!!!
-Mario Maker, I guess it looks cool, very neat how they talked about how they designed the levels back in the day, and it's pretty neat how they're giving fans the chance to do it themselves...all I have to say is if I'm able to borrow gameplay elements from other games, then this'll be an awesome title (Imagine making a metroid like level with Zeelas, Zoomers, Sidehoppers, and zebesians jumping about)...but if it's just Mario then...cool I guess...

I didn't really care about anything else...there's so much more that could've been done but it could've been a lot worse I guess...It didn't really help that the Smash Direct pretty much stole the thunder from everything else Nintendo related...(If they would've revealed a new character at the Digital Event you have no idea how much of an uproar that would've caused)...

----

The Rest of E3
Rating: Abstain
Didn't actually catch most of what else went on as I was at work and it wouldn't have been good if I focused my attention on more than just Nintendo...

however...
it's all coming back to me...XDDDD

It doesn't really change much to me. Its the same PR statements they've been stating since early last year. This is basically just like the Retro Studios interview where they said "Yeah, we'd like to continue Metroid... eventually" and the E3 interviews where Reggie I believe commented on how "We're looking at ways to continue both 2D and 3D Metroid."

This statement is no better than those ones.

Gotta make this one quick too, so sorry for the lack of score breakdown and coherency
1. Roy: 80%
I'm relatively good at him for a person who has never used him before and that makes me kinda miffed because I don't like him at all.

2. Ryu: 95%
Never planning on using him, but he opens up so many avenues regarding what can and can't happen with DLC that he could have been completely unplayable and I would have given him like an 80%. That's a hyperbole. He's also really well made (minus a little balancing, but I'm talking about on his own).
-5% for overall lack of balance

3. The SSB mini direct: 85%
Short and to the point, but lacking an engaging form.

4. The Nintendo direct: 70%
Only remarkable in how unremarkable it was for an E3 presentation. However, I have to remind myself that Nintendo holds Nintendo Directs every few months, so it makes sense that there is little to show for E3 (and I honestly prefer the "Let's spread announcements out across the year" model more). The overall presentation could have a bit better though.

5. All of E3 including 3rd party titles: Abstain
Didn't have the time to pay attention all that much, unfortunately.

It's certainly not negative. It's a complete, positive acknowledgement, that is fueled with actual ideas and plot points. It's better than something like "we can't think of how to make F-Zero innovative." Nintendo rarely (if ever) mentions franchises or "hypothetical" game scenarios like this at all when they aren't actively pursuing a future for them. Anything detailed and "hypothetical" they say has always turned out to be a hint. (See: Majora's Mask 3D, Pokemon RS remakes, etc.)

Satisfaction with Roy: 100%
Screen Shot 2015-06-13 at 8.39.31 pm.png

My boy has come home as my new main. Welcome back, mah boi! I love him so much in Smash 4 - from his design and his new attacks. It was worth the wait.

Satisfaction with Ryu : 97%
Ryu's a lot of fun in Smash 4, and it is pretty interesting to see such a blend of Smash Bros and Street Fighter handled this way. He's arguably one of the most unique characters in Smash 4, but I'm still practicing with him. He's a good addition.

Admittedly, I haven't had time to watch either the Smash Mini Direct or the E3 presentation.

But what I will say is this: I am disappointed that everyone overreacted about the new Metroid game like this. Metroid will return to its glory days, I give you that - just give them time.

Oh, and FFVII Remake hype, yes. And Platinum coated Star Fox, neat - though it was even more disappointing to see the Krystal thread fall to shambles when I checked in this morning.

...oh what's that? 100% is the max? Alright fine, 100% it is.

What can I say? :4feroy:along with :4mewtwo:were amongst my top requested characters to be playable in Smash 4 and with both of them in the game now, I get a sense of satisfaction that wasn't present before DLC happened. Honestly, whatever DLC comes after this doesn't matter because I got my 2 most requested characters and i'm forever grateful for that.

Him being Falco/Ganon-fied also relieves me from concerns of him being copy pasted from Melee. His play style in this game is just epic.

:4ryu:: 90%

He's a really cool addition to the roster and has a unique playstyle. Not as psyched about him as I am with Roy though i'll try to learn his moveset in more depth late.

Mini-Direct: 90%

Was pretty good though the leaks kinda ruined the hype.

Digital Event: 50%

Was pretty unhyped overall. It was mostly things I already knew or didn't care about.

Rest of E3: Abstain

Didn't watch anything else.

Well, I think it goes without saying that these last few days have been exhausting for all of us.

--

:4feroy: Roy Satisfaction: 35%
You guys know I'm not one to think in terms of reps, right? It's not that I think Fire Emblem shouldn't have a fifth character. For it to be another Marth derivative, though, especially one who isn't liked much by Fire Emblem fans, whose biggest source of support (as it seems) was nostalgia, and whose stronger arguments for inclusion were based around the idea of him getting special treatment other characters weren't getting? It leaves a sour taste in my mouth, even realizing they probably pulled from leftover Brawl data.

I'll give him this, though. They did one hell of a job updating his appearance.

:4ryu: Ryu Satisfaction: 55%
I still don't know how well he fits in the context of a Nintendo fighter, to be honest. With his low amount of original content on Nintendo systems in recent years, I genuinely wonder what circumstances got him in, since it'd help us determine what chances any other third party characters have.

At the same time, major props to the dev team for how them implemented him. Street Fighter-style inputs to give his specials bonus effects was a stroke of genius, as was making him a combo master and king of IASA...who is shaky offstage and has serious trouble hitting behind him, the exact kinds of weaknesses you'd expect from someone from a traditional fighter!

Smash Mini-Direct Satisfaction: 80%
On one hand, I wasn't super interested in the characters they revealed. On the other, the fact that all three were already done, along with multiple stages and a ton of costumes, bodes well for how much future DLC we'll see. The more content we get, the more likely at least some of it will appeal to all of us.

Just a shame so much of it got leaked a day beforehand. I wonder how whoever accidentally put the patch up early feels right now? Probably horrible...

E3 Direct Satisfaction: 50%
I'm not going to jump on the hate bandwagon, but I will say it left me feeling disappointed at first. I warmed up a little to some of the stuff shown thanks to the Treehouse livestream earlier, but overall, if still feels pretty...meh. None of the new games are real blockbusters, too much time was devoted to games we already know a lot of, no Smash talk, and the super-hyped new Star Fox game...feels less like a return to roots and more like an unnecessary step backward.

There were still high points, though. A North American release date for Xenoblade Chronicles X, more info on the newly-christened Fire Emblem: Fates, a new Mario & Luigi game that seems really interesting, and although they were focused on a little too much, Yoshi's Woolly World and Super Mario Maker would be day one purchases if I had a Wii U and the means to buy them when the time came.

More than anything...Zelda U's delay really hurt them. The presentation felt like it was missing its cornerstone.

Don't believe what the (very) vocal minority is saying. Today wasn't a total loss, even if it fell short of expectations. Good thing we can count on Nintendo to hold another Direct within 2-3 months, right?

Overall E3 Satsifaction: Abstain
I was only able to follow the other conferences so much. I can't fully rate the whole thing with my limited scope, especially since it's, you know, not over yet. >_>

I guess so far, the highlights have been:
1. Smash Mini-Direct, leak be damned
2. Nintendo World Championships
3. Fallout 4 announced
4. Final Fantasy VII remake announced
5. Nier 2 announced

Note that due to being on vacation, I have yet to purchase any of the DLC.

Roy - 85% - Heh, seeing him decloned was a big plus to me. That plus the fire sword is all I really need. That final sm a s) also reminds me of Kirby's hammer flip in his home games, so that is going to be fun to land.

Ryu - 37.5% - Honestly, I don't like his inclusion. The whole new inputs thing feels like it's giving him more depth without any actual substance, with the end result being a character on either extreme end of the te. I'm also kind of against the more complex inputs being implemented. All in all, he's another Pac-Man on the roster for me: a character that is super famous, yet as a fighter I have no interest in. If it weren't for his stage, I might not even consider buying him.

Mini-Direct - 70% - The new stages prevented it from being a complete flop.

E3 Direct - 60% - Not anything really hype worthy, but a few interests with no real letdown.

I didn't watch E3 overall, so skipping that.

Note: Everything below is strictly my opinion and is not meant to be inflammatory. Not that I think I say anything that bad, but I do express some displeasure.
Satisfactions:
Roy- 68%
Past veteran, glad for his fan base. Looks like an improvement from his Melee self. But I'm not that excited about another FE character. I haven't shelled out the money to pay for him yet.
Ryu- 88%
I'm normally not big on third parties, but Ryu is legendary, and he seems to bring a new style to Smash. Oh, and Suzaku Castle is beautiful.

Smash Mini Direct - 90%
Hyrule Castle? My body is ready.
Now only if we can get Saffron…

Only complain is that DLC feels a little bit on the pricy side. I'm not one to complain, but it just doesn't feel right to pay four bucks for Lucas, who I got in the last game without paying any extra. Ryu should also not be force bundled with Suzaku (though it doesn't really affect me as I was going to get it anyways…)

Nintendo Direct- 30%
Well… my opinion isn't so different from many others, but let's talk about it anyways. Gotta release the feels.
Star Fox Zero- Looks great! Gameplay looks unique, and I like what they are doing with the 64-esque reboot. People have complained about the graphics, which is merited, I guess… but it isn't surprising given the two screens being used. And though we don't have that much more development time, it isn't out yet. As long as the game runs fine, I'm fine. I don't event think it looks that bad.
Triforce Heroes- I'm not sold yet, but I wasn't sold on A Link Between Worlds at first, either, and we saw how that turned out. I'm sure it will be great… it's more of a matter of how much superior the multiplayer is, as I don't have that many friends I consistently see who own a 3DS.
I understand not giving us much Zelda U, but a little something… artwork, title, anything… would have gone a long way to make more people happy. Nothing, yet we get a mention of the NX? Big mistake there.
Xenoblade X, Yoshi's Wooly World- Look good, but already looked good. I would have liked seeing some of this content being moved to something other than E3.

Super Mario Maker- I'm not sure if I'm going to buy this, and I don't know if we needed to here that much about it… but screw it, I actually liked what I watched on it. Made me kind of want to get it. Must be the engineer in me.
Fire Emblem Fates- Why you so far away?!

Metroid Prime: Federation Force- The actual Metroid game is being made as we speak concurrently by Retro for the console that really needs it- the Wii U- and this is just a fun spin-off to enjoy in the meantime… right? …. right??
I'm not even a huge Metroid guy, but come on.
Hyrule Warriors Legends- Cool, but I doubt I'll buy. My sister might like it, though.
Shin Megami Tensei x Fire Emblem- Sorry, didn't appeal to me. In fact, it actually kind of scared me just watching.
Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer- I doubt I'll buy, but its a cute idea. I'm ok with this.

Animal Crossing: amiibo Festival- … No. No, no, no. They actually had me believing for half a second that we were getting a real Wii U Animal Crossing. Which would be great. Instead we get a Mario Party knockoff? Does Nintendo really care that little about the Wii U?
Obviously I haven't played it myself, so it might work. Even if it does, though, it belongs as a eShop download, not a E3 highlight.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam- Looks to have some potential… maybe infinite potential :troll: Really, though, it might be good.
Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash- I have fond memories with the 64 game… but I'd much, much rather see Golden Sun 4.
Yo-Kai Watch- I'll have to do more research on whether or not I think I'll like this. For now… no strong opinion.
And then whatever other stuff they showed.
I was hoping we'd get at least a few nice surprises, maybe one great one, hopefully for the Wii U. Instead we got stuff we already knew was coming, some alright surprises all for the 3DS, and some actively not good stuff. I like the tone that Nintendo was going for, the material just wasn't really there to match it.
The world isn't over, though. With directs, we'll be seeing some more good stuff throughout the year. Nintendo's not dead.

Rest of E3- Abstain
Been too busy with work to watch that much other stuff, and frankly I just don't really care that much. I've heard there was some great stuff, but… I don't own a XBox One or a PS4. Maybe someday I will care more when third parties actually release games on Nintendo consoles… theoretically...

Kay, so I just watched the Nintendo Digital Event, and...I had to quit partway. It was horrible.
Seriously. Does Nintendo think that this stupid **** is able to keep fans holding on? While the 3DS parts weren't as bad, the WiiU segments were disgusting. Too much info on games we've already seen, and as for the few that were new, well...most were...not good. Why was the Smash portion cut off from the rest? You clearly needed to fill up space, and Smash would have been a great way to fix that.

...I'll just get to the ratings.

:4feroy:: 85%
I'm really happy with how he turned out. His moveset was Falcoed into something less cloney, his appearances were renewed, he's very much different from Marth now. I love it.
:4ryu::25%
Eh, I'm still warming up to him, but I don't hate him as much as I did before, mostly due to Sakurai's hard work in creating such a complex character. I don't know if I'll ever buy him, but I'll have him in my mind.

Smash Mini Direct: 85%
The only reason it's not 100% is because of leaks. A lot of the stuff they showed in the mini direct were full of interesting choices, from well-made characters, wacky costumes and tournament mode. My only complaint is that the price tag is a little high...but I can swallow it. Overall, it was a nice show.

As for the other direct...

Nintendo Digital Event: 10%
Points go to Star Fox and Triforce Heroes. Other than that...it was either meh, or cool-sounding ideas gone horribly wrong.
I don't know where to begin. Maybe I don't need to, as plenty of other people have shown their thoughts on how horrid this presentation was as a whole. So I'll just list my personal dissapointments.
FE Fates: We're getting that game in a week in Japan. No doubt it'll be good, but why show it at E3?
Federation Force:Spin-offs only work when you have the mainstream titles be steadily released (Like Mario or Zelda). When was the last main Metroid title released? 2010?(For some it's 2007) Yeah, I won't be buying this. Scratch that, NO ONE will buy this game. Ugh, disgusting.
HW Legends: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure they said "all DLC in". ...Seriously?
amiibo festival: -no comment-
Ultra Smash: Where's my Golden Sun 4?
Yo-kai Watch: Um...that's third party.
The Ending: 2~3 minutes of complete filler. Seriously, why the **** are you going to do something like that at E3!? If you're going to have stuff like that, quit that May direct or the Smash Mini, and pull info from there. That was completely stupid.
Honarable Mention: The puppets. At first they seemed like an interesting choice. While I perfered the robot chicken style from last year, this year was pretty nice, I admit I laughed at the wacky movements or the transition into the Star Fox team. Buuuuut, after a while I came to the realization that they had less games than I thought, and after video after video of pre-mentioned games, I became bored, and the puppets started to become annoying. I thought for a minute or so that I was being mocket by the puppets for expecting a spectacular show. Nintendo probably has no such intentions, but that's how I felt.

E3 as a whole:60%
I'm not too big a fan of western games, so naturally I skip most third party announcements, actually I only watched the big three this year. And while Microsoft proved to be at least decent, Nintendo was horrible and Sony was a bit below okay. Naturally I come to a conclusion like this one. Sorry Nintendo, but I can't give you any thumbs up this round. You better do better next time.

I originally didn't care about him and wasn't supportive of his inclusion, but I'm satisfied about how he turned out to be. His new appearance looks super cool and his sweetspot mechanic admittedly gives him a unique and very satisfying playstyle with his power.

:4ryu:Ryu satisfacftion: 55%
I was worried about Ryu's inclusion, as I originally said he had the potential to be either a super cool or a very lame addition. What I wanted and expected from him were mechanics and inputs inspired from traditional 2D fighters, and I'm glad they took that route. That said, I kinda suck at doing Street Fighter inputs, so I can't give him a super high satisfaction score.

My satisfaction score for both would have been slightly higher if they had custom special moves, but oh well.

Smash presentation satisfaction: 80%
Not higher because the leaks made it somewhat useless, but it was a cool presentation. Mostly the fact we got three characters at once in one update makes me feel much more optimistic about the possibility of getting more than 6 characters. Also they announced the Duck Hunt amiibo! The stand for the duck is annoying, but I honestly expected the stand mess to be worse.

Digital Event satisfaction: 15%
I'll be honest, I honestly was very underwhelmed. It started to look promising with the puppets and Star Fox Zero which promises to be awesome (CHICKEN AIRWING YEAH!) But after that it went downhill; none of the new titles shown were really hype-worthy, the new trailers for already announced games did learned us very little about them (besides FE14's localized name), SMTxFE is still random otaku stuff that made me feel uncomfortable, I felt like they literally wasted their time talking so much about the Skylanders amiibo cameo and Yoshi's Wooly Words, and the Mario stuff at the end was both boring and cringe-worthy. I often checked the time to see how much time there was left before the end of the presentation because I was so bored. I felt so cheated when Satoru Iwata held bananas and we got no new Donkey Kong game. I remember when the Digital Event was over, the first thing I said, "It sucked"

I guess those pics sum up my reaction to Star Fox and everything else respectively:

Can't really say he's a bad addition or something, but when the Fire Emblem franchise continues to gain reps, wheres some others don't, I am a little bit disappointed.

Ryu: 45%
Sorry to any Ryu fans here, but Ryu is one of the characters I seriously don't want in. For reasons like unwritten rule broken, unfitting looking and stuff etc. I just gave points because well, it didn't *LOOK* so bad after all. However, moveset wise, I really think he's overpowered and stuff (sorta expected it), so...

Mini Direct: 55%
The combination of 2 percentages, minus 10% for leak, minus 20% for no Wolf, plus 5% for the surprises like 64 Stages and Free Miiverse stage (doesn't actually affect me tho). Divide by 2 for the result.

Nintendo Digital Event: 20%
Before I start, I need to mention:
  1. I (My brother) only own a 3ds, so Wii U games hardly ever amuse me unless it does make me want to buy one.
  2. I, again, have no knowledge on Nintendo Franchise outside of Smash, so I have no idea some of these are 3rd Party or what.
  3. I only care about Star Fox. My brother only care about Mario (outside of platformer), Pokemon and Fire Emblem (He recently bought a game just to try out this franchise).
  4. I sorta already know about the content, since the event happens in 0100 here, and I need to have Exam right after I wake up. I had only time to check minor stuff, and all the interesting parts have been mentioned before I actually can watch it, so I have less hype about the interesting games.
50% base score, adjusted by:
+10 Star Fox Zero (Only thing that got me hype)
+5 Mario&Luigi: Paper Jam (Only thing that got my brother hype)
-10 Useless Detail about Yarn Yoshi, Mario Maker and everything we already know
-20 Talks about Star Fox, then proceeds to turn all things Mario style (Seriously, that topic change from SF to "transformation" to Mario is super terrible) I thought it's said it's "the Year of Star Fox"? Apparently it's the Year of Mario (as a continuation of Year of Luigi?)
-10 Still no Wolf
-5 Completely no Smash news. Sure they have an extra direct and stuff, but without Smash we can't really give a hype at all.
So yeah, I'm a bit biased on the Star Fox side, but yeah, other than Star Fox Zero and maybe that Mario and Luigi thing, I see nothing hype-worthy. The puppet opening is rather good, and Miyamoto's Star Fox logo on his clothing already hyped me up a bit, but after that, the whole direct went almost fully Mario-themed. The other franchises look nothing interesting enough for me to try, so yeah... Extreme disappointment.

Whole E3: Abstain
Again, I only care about Nintendo stuff so far, so I can't give a rating for other stuff.

Originally I didn't want him, because we already had a Marth clone and four FE reps, but I was satisfied how he turned out to be, and he's not even a full clone anymore. However, -10% due to overpresentation of Fire Emblem in the roster.

Ryu satisfaction: 95%
Also disliked him when he was leaked, but I've warmed up for him and I was satisfied how he turned out. However, -5% due to being too complex in my liking.

Smash Event satisfaction: 80%
It was a good event and had some surprises despite the leaks. -20% due to most content being leaked.

Nintendo Digital Event satisfaction: 20% (30 + 20 + 10 + 10 + 10 - 30 - 30 = 80 - 60 = 20%)
It was very disapponting event, only games that interested me were M&L: Paper Jam (+30), Yoshi's Woolly World (+20%) (which comes next week in Europe) and to lesser extent Star Fox Zero (+10%) and Mario Maker (+10%) (the latter receiving too much focus on the event), and + 10% Iwata, Reggie and Miyamoto as puppets. -30% due to most games being completely uninteresting in my eyes (especially AC amiibo party) and -30% for focusing too much on Mario Maker.

E3 satisfaction: Abstain
I watched only Nintendo's Digital Event and Kingdom Hearts III trailer.

What's so special about this guy? Why do we need another FE rep? I don't get the hype at all. I guess that's why he's DLC and not part of the base package.

Ryu satisfaction: 50%
Hey, third-party DLC character! Thanks for opening the floodgates, Ryu! If only your moveset wasn't so needlessly convoluted.

Smash Event satisfaction: 70%
In truth, my enthusiasm over Smash Brothers has been slowly fizzling over the past month or two. I can't say that the event made me any less interested in playing Smash, but the DLC content wasn't really worth the price they were asking of me. So it was average overall, and apparently that equates to 7/10 nowadays.

Digital Event satisfaction: 30%
This event probably would have been more effective if it had played in reverse. Start it off with a YouTube montage about Mario, end with the highly anticipated Star Fox Zero. We'd probably be a bit less bitter about the whole thing if the closer wasn't Let's Bloody Super Mario.

Overall satisfaction: 70%
Again, average performance from the other presenters. Nothing too offensive, but nothing really excited me either.

They decloned him perfectly. :4feroy: is not to :4marth: as :4falco: is to :4fox:. He is hell of fun to pay as to boot, to the point I am going to attempt to main him to some degree. I love my veterans, so any veterans that do get revealed, they will get this 100% satisfaction from me.

:4ryu: 100%
One of the most unique characters we have ever gotten in Sm4sh. Ryu changes the game entirely, with a moveset harkening back to SF finest moments. The fact that they added the classic button movements helps even more.

Smash Direct 100%
I know most of the stuff did get leaked before, but I was extremely happy with the characters an stages we did get. I am hyped for the N64 stages we are getting as well. With the confirmation of Stage DLC, I can hope that Pokemon Stadium returns, right?

Nintendo Digital Event 70%
Star Fox Zero looked cool and Paper Jam looks interesting, but it feels so much weaker than the past years content. There was such a lack of new content that interested me, compared to previous years. The only games that hyped me besides those two were Mario Maker and FE, which we already knew about.

Overall :85%
The Sm4sh content was done well, although the eshop was a tad bit of a hassle, but the rest was nowhere near as strong as last year or the year before. I hope that next year will be better with the Nintendo NX...

Roy - 60% (Not a fan but he's different from Marth and Lucina so that's probably as much as I could have hoped from him)

Ryu - 70% (Again not really a fan but he's fairly fun to play as)

Lucas - 80% (I like playing as him, even though I prefer Ness)

Smash Mini Direct - 70% (Overall I was happy with this direct, although the leaks kind of spoiled my hype for the presentation)

Nintendo Digital Event - 15% (I feel like I'm being really generous too. The only thing that came anywhere close to hyping me was the Mario & Luigi game....and I'm still on the fence with that one.)

Rest of E3 - Abstain (I haven't seen the whole picture of E3 yet, just bits and pieces here and there.)

roy 70%: I love how hard he hits it's just how hard it is for me to hit some of his attacks I think it's just me still trying to get over his reach.

Ryu 80%: for me because I play a lot of mugen and Capcom vs SNK 2 EO I find it easy to do a lot of the inputs that being said its easy to input and get your self killed when you want to get back on to the stage. Also his attacks hit really hard he is also a heavy weight. He is fun all-around.

Lucas 75%: he's fun to use. I tend to use a lot of aerials. up smash is stronger than ever but has a lot of start up and end lag.

mini-direct 90%: a lot of content was announced and it was fun to watch too.

Nintendos E3 10%: ._. it was underwhelming though 2 games did stand out for me that was M&L Paper jam never in a million years would I think that those 2 worlds would actually collide. Also tri-force heroes I'll see you guys online :D

E3 N/A: I have not seen a lot of the other ones I did however take a peek at other games that did interest me like kingdom hearts and such.

Okay, most of it was underwhelming. I can comfortably say that Star Fox Zero was it's biggest gun, and even if it's driven by bias, I'm one of those guys who is actually hyped for Federation Force.

If this piece of groundbreaking Metroid news were a game in progress and shown in this Digital Event, then my satisfaction rating would be 100% easily if only because it basically confirmed Sylux for the next Prime game.

I only watched Nintendo's conference so I can't rate all of it fairly.

He feels great. Not too strong but damn in the right hands will be a nightmare to fight. Plus love how you can do SF inputs here as well

Nintendo E3 in general: 5/10
The first half was decent but it was a mess around that second half. Star Fox Xero, Xenoblade X and HW Legends are the more interesting information we got and Paper Mario & Luigi is okay. But that amiibo AC party MPFF announcement with no mainline games hurt. Plus focusing on Skylanders of all things and ignored Fatal Frame, Devil's Third and PXZ 2 legit angered me.

All of E3: 8/10
Sony killed it especially with the 3 bombshells and Horizon is worth it. MS did great and Squeenix was fun.

I've always had a soft spot for Roy. He was the character who got me excited for the FE franchise in Melee. I thought Marth was a bit boring as he's as vanilla as a swordsman can be, but the dude with the spiky hair who has a fire sword that creates freaking explosions? THAT GUY ticks all the right boxes.

Hell, I even named my Robin in Awakening Roy since he was the coolest looking dude in the series for me. Shame Fire Emblem fans hate him. I supported him right up until Lucina appeared and seemed to kill his chances dead.

As a result when I saw his return, his updated look and that he looks improved from Melee I was excited. I was in Ireland on a stag do as the best man, and whilst my best friend was super hyped about Ryu, I was secretly gleeful over the one my friends were complaining about with "More swords? Urgh" comments.

No my friends. Not more swords. More EXPLOSIONS. More OUR BOY. More PH1R3.

:4ryu: Satisfaction: 95%
Ryu's a character I always thought was cool, but I was not expecting him in Smash with :4megaman: already in, nor with Sakurai's comment on Fighting game characters.
Ryu's almost definitely a character I'm going to be fighting a whole lot from here on end due to my friend being a huge Street Fighter fan.

I've always been bad at Street Fighter though, and I somehow feel this is going to translate to Smash too...still a fantastic and very hype worthy character.

:4lucas:Satisfaction: 20%

Good for his fans, but I'm personally probably going to skip purchasing him; no one I know uses him and I'm terrible with him in Brawl. For his fans I'll give him 20%, but he's probably the Smasher I've seen least overall in my Smash games with him only popping up in Brawl when Random forced someone to play him. Maybe some day.

Smash Mini Direct Satisfaction: 80%

Roy, Mii outfits(which I won't get but they look nice), Ryu and two new stages. Nice and meaty official reveals. Tourney mode and Ryu mechanics being explained was doubly nice.

Nintendo Digital Event: 33%
I didn't see all of it, but Star Fox, Paper Jam, 4 3 Swords Adventures and a new Mario Tennis are pluses to me(TOAD PLAYABLE AT FRICKING LAST, IT'S BEEN THREE MARIO TENNIS FFS WITH FLY GUY AND OTHER STUPID FILLER BS) as well as Chibi Robo: Zip Lash who was revealed shortly before E3.

That said, last year's blew it away for me with Smash, Mario Kart DLC reveals, Yoshi's Wooly World reveal, Splatoon reveal, Hyrule Warriors info and of course; Captain Toad Treasure Tracker. This year has felt a little shallow in comparison.

Rest of E3: Abstain
Didn't bother watching the rest since I only have a Wii U and a 3DS. Heard Kingdom Hearts 3 trailer was good so maybe I'll check that later.

I am just indifferent. I am happy for his fans and I am glad that he is semi-cloned now, but Roy isn't a character that I was hyped for. I guess he can be a bit fun to play as, but I am indifferent to him.

Ryu Satisfaction: 80%
Ryu isn't a character that I totally approve of in Smash. SF2 was a system seller for the SNES, but we've barely seen him on Nintendo consoles as of late. Oddly though, I haven't had that feeling of "he is a sore thumb" to me like Snake did in Brawl. He's... oddly fitting. And Ryu is really fun to play as, despite being by far the most complex character on Smash 4's roster.

Smash Direct Satisfaction: 90%
Is it sad to say that I was hyped from this the most this week? It was really well-done! While it featured content that was sadly leaked, Sakurai made their announcements really hype. It's great seeing the last few amiibo, return of Dream Land 64, the trailers for Roy and Ryu, being able to eventually post matches on YouTube (as someone without a Capture Card, this is a MAJOR plus for me), and seeing the new Mii Fighter costumes. Also, HYRULE CASTLE 64! HYRULE FREAKING CASTLE 64!!!! I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR YEARS FOR THIS STAGE TO RETURN!!!!!

Digital Event Satisfaction: 40%
My initial thoughts were, "It was meh" to now "I am pretty disappointed."
There were 4 highlights for me:
1. Xenoblade Chronicles: X getting a release date at long last.
2. Seeing an English trailer for the amazing looking Fire Emblem: Fates.
3. Star Fox Zero looks incredible.
4. Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam looks like a neat crossover... they just need the music now from both games.
The rest were just meh or I didn't care about.
Well... I did like the Developer Story for Yoshi's Woolly World, but that is a game that we know pretty much everything about and Europe is getting it next week while we wait until... October.
I don't care for the new Metroid games, the new Zelda game didn't really hype me, and the AC Amiibo Party game was a massive tease to me as I was really hoping to see a new AC. (and I was hoping for a new Kirby game...)
The main emphasis was Mario Maker, which I didn't really care for in the first place. The thing that caught my attention was the amiibo functionality thing. I mean, the ending was cool, but I was asking for a big surprise announcement... which we didn't really get.
I think what made this E3 lackluster was the lack of many exciting surprises. I understand the focus was for the upcoming months, but I don't think that it would hurt to show something that won't be released in like Q2 2016 to Q4 2016.
If anything, I am more hyped for next year's E3, where they will hopefully put more emphasis on their future releases. Not only that, but next year is also Zelda's 30th Anniversary... so I am hoping for a big thing like this.

Hmm... the reactions to Ninty's E3 have been mixed at best.

Anyway,
  • ROY SATISFACTION: 100%
I expected nothing more than a HD Melee Roy with proper rebalancing. Luckily for me, Roy got an amazing new design, keeping all his Melee flavour and added some more on top of it.

  • RYU SATISFACTION: 100%
I was blown away by Ryu's moveset, specifically the fact that you can do half-circle and quarter-circle inputs. He basically has double the number of tilts of a normal Smash character and completely destroyed the argument tat he would be bland compared to Smash's fighters.

  • SMASH DIRECT SATISFACTION: 95%
Despite most of the stuff being leaked, it was neat little hype package. A well done presentation, showing off all the best stuff of :4feroy::4lucas::4ryu:, the fact that more past stages are coming, the immediate release of all three, etc.

  • DIGITAL EVENT SATISFACTION: 65%
Being a Mario fan, this event did hit a couple of sweetspots with Mario Maker and especially, Mario & Luigi Paper Jam. I just hope AlphaDream handles the development since their quality has quite consistent across the Mario & Luigi titles. Star Fox Wii U looked amazing too.
And another Mario Tennis. Well, I have a bit of a softspot for those, so if it can top Mario Power Tennis, I'll be happy for it.
More relevant for me, however is that this is really a good time to be a 3DS gamer, seriously, with another Pokémon Mystery Dungeon, Hyrule Warrior Legends, Zelda: Triforce Heroes, Yo-kai Watch, and finally a Chibi-Robo game coming out.
An honourable mention to EarthBound Beginnings. It was completely unexpected but was definitely a good move.

I reduced points for Metroid Federation Forces, as it was underwhelming, especially in the light of the series's 30th anniversary, and SMT×FE which I still have no idea about the direction.

The others I don't really care about much to comment.

:4feroy:: 100%. He's a real beast in this game. He has a really powerful forward smash when it hits at Roy's sweetspot and I love his final smash. Much better than Marth's and Lucina's in my opinion.

:4ryu:: 100% as well. It's pretty ironic that one of the most simple characters to play as in Street fighters and the Vs Capcom games is one of the most difficult characters to master in this game. His moveset and gimmick is pretty unique.

Digitial Event: 33%. What can I say about this that hasn't been summed up. Only good parts were Starfox Zero, Triforce Heroes & Hyrule Warriors, and Paper Jam. They spent a little too much time on developer interviews. And my god that ending was just so cringy.

Overall E3: ABSTAINED: I only paid attention to Nintendo and only heard of new games through here and social media.

1. Roy: 60%
He seems like a very solid character now. I'm happy for his fans, and some of my friends seem to like him. His play style just isn't for me, but I'm glad he's back on the roster.

2. Ryu: 75%
Not quite sure if he really deserved it, but I still think he's a really cool addition to the roster. His stage is very nice as well. I can't wait to see what people are going to be able to accomplish with this character in a couple months.

2.5 (Lucas: 95%)
(I'm slipping in a rating for Lucas despite the fact that we aren't giving him a satisfaction score for some reason. This one caught me by surprise because I'm not really a fan of playing as Ness, but I actually really like to play as Lucas despite hardly ever picking him in the previous Smash title. Definitely my favorite DLC character so far.)

3. The SSB Mini Direct: 90%
Despite all of the leaks, this was a great presentation. We got Lucas, the confirmation of two 'unannounced' characters, new and old extra stages coming in the future, new amiibo, and more. The great thing is that almost all of that content released that day. This is definitely a good sign of what's to come for Smash 4 DLC.

4. The Nintendo Direct: 70%
The difference between me and most of the people who are disappointed in Nintendo's Digital Event (Not to say they don't have the right to be; it was definitely lackluster) is that after the announcement that Zelda Wii U wasn't going to be appearing, I went into it only excited to finally get to see the new Star Fox, and hopefully one other title to get me hyped. That's exactly what I got. I'm very excited to experience Star Fox Zero, and I wasn't expecting to see a Four Swords successor in the form of Triforce Heroes which I'm also very excited for. The confirmation of Xenoblade X's release is great, Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam looks interesting, Hyrule Warriors would've gotten me really hyped if it hadn't already been leaked, but everything else was pretty underwhelming. I was hopeful for more, but I ultimately got what I wanted so I didn't come out of the Digital Event as let down as other people. The great thing about Nintendo is that there are going to be other Directs scattered throughout the year to hopefully give us announcements that will make up for their below average E3 event.

5. All of E3 Including 3rd Party Titles: 75%
I mostly keep up with E3 for what Nintendo has to offer, but I did manage to watch the presentations from Microsoft, Sony, and... EA, as well as keep up with the general announcements from the other companies. It was all pretty alright to me. Would have been better if they had kept those Ratchet and Clank PS4 announcements for their E3 presentation, but there was a lot of solid stuff shown off. Hopefully gamers will be satisfied with what came out of E3 this year.

I don't have a rating yet, but I just wanna ask: Was anyone else reminded of that music video for "Land of Confusion" when the puppets showed up in the live thing?

Okay, so with nominations opening up tomorrow alongside our rerates of Ice Climbers and Tetra, how do you guys plan to spend your 15 nominations?

Not many characters were helped or hurt significantly anyway, but here are the few essentials to rerate soon methinks:
-Paper Mario (has a new crossover game, definitely helped)
-Wolf and Krystal (this should be interesting... the latter seems to play no role).. we're going to rate Slippy any day now too.
-I would say Animal Crossing characters, but all the major ones are either an AT, FS, or stage element. Hmm... maybe next time.
-Spyro, the king of hybrid amiibo-Skylanders
-Inklings still need a rerate. This was their chance to (Sun)shine beyond Mii Fighter costumes. I want them, but don't know how I feel about their chances now. This would be an interesting discussion.

Also, I think Sylux is worthy of being rated for once considering all of the recent Kensuke Tanabe quotes about him having a future planned. Please don't overinflate him, but he's now on my radar of having a "slim chance" instead of "zero chance."

There weren't really any new/unrated characters shown to have any significance to Smash. We could rate Yuuri Kozukata from Fatal Frame I suppose. Yeah, let's do that, just cause.

Wow, there's not a lot that was affected is there? but might as well spend some votes on the above characters.

I think we should rate them - Wolf, Krystal, Paper Mario, Inklings, Sylux - after a short cooldown period, and then get back to normal ratings again.

Maybe not planning to rate them during a specific day or anything, but what about giving them automatic extra nominations to help them reaching the top, like x30 each? We waited to rate Roy and Ryu after all (there was a gap of more than one week between both of them). And by the way, giving automatic extra nominations to Snake, Chibi-Robo, Rayman, Impa and Chorus Kids since those scored high in the most overrated or underrated department.

To summarize, here's my idea: give these characters extra nominations independently to people's regular nominations (which may obviously stack with these):

Inkling x30
Krystal x30
Paper Mario x30
Sylux x30
Wolf x30
Chorus Kids x20
Impa x20
Snake x20
Chibi-Robo x15
Rayman x15
