Because I was the one who nominated walter (more or less), I should probably rate him.
There's a lot to be said about Walter Hartwell White. He's a (relatively) realistic drug kingpin from a mature show. Having him stand next to Steven Universe and Marvin the Martian would be utterly baffling. Hell, he isn't even owned by Warner Brothers, the Breaking Bad IP is owned by Sony (shoe-in for PSAS2?). Objectively speaking, he shouldn't be a likely choice. And yet, I'm giving him a 60%.
The most important factor is that he's one of the most wanted characters. I don't have the numbers on me, but I know he's at minimum top 3 (next to Ben 10 and Mordecai). That counts for something, especially when he's swimming counter-current to the fandom's pretty strong Cartoon Network bias. Being from a mature series doesn't scare me all that much either. We've had Arya Stark since day 1, and the addition of Jason Vorhees proves it wasn't a one-off occurance. Admittedly, what earned Breaking Bad it's mature rating is quite different from GoT and Friday the 13th, but I trust the devs to come up with some creative censorship. Maybe they could get away with only calling his product "Blue Sky", for instance? Or forego the meth entirely, Walter's a capable chemist in all respects. The last thing that makes me think Walt is likely is this recent interview.

Showing a lot of optimism here. King Kong is owned by Universal (technically), sure, but Warner Bros. is ACTIVELY using King Kong for major projects currently, and have allowed him to show up in other IP-**** projects like the ending of Lego Batman, so communication would be quite easy I imagine, especially given that King Kong is already a battling character and may not run into the same stipulations someone like Barbie could run into. There is prescedent for some minor "third party" involvement of sorts (LeBron and The Rock's likenesses) though King Kong really is another beast (figuratively and literally)
Also of note is that the character of King Kong is public domain, but I have a feeling WB wouldn't want to use public domain King Kong, since MVS is very heavily based on references and using just the novelisation (and uhh... The Mighty Kong, I guess) would severely limit that, especailly for alternate costumes, so it doesn't really add to my prediction.
Godzilla:
Chance: 16%
Toho is infamously stingy, almost Nintendo level, and has a language barrier. The only things keeping Godzilla away from a flat 0 are the sheer demand and how big the Monsterverse films are for WB's release slate. I guess the possibility of being in a duo reveal with King Kong is in his favor, maybe? All things considered though, he's only slightly better off than Pikachu.

Is "should we add a kaiju to our fighting game?" even a valid question? It's so obvious, especially with the Iron Giant establishing literal giants in this game. A lot of skin potential should license holders play ball, and a lot of potential for other characters' dialog. Also monkeys are funny.

We know he's at the very least on the team's mind, thanks to the early-in-the-beta datamine. Godzilla also appears in a LOT of crossovers. There's clear demand both in the fandom and on the team for Godzilla, and being a third party character with strong WB ties helps immensely. However, they also said they wanted to wait a while before the next massive character after the Iron Giant, so It Depends. I think we may get him eventually.

I mean, it's Godzilla lol. He's just inherently cool, and even if you aren't a fan of Kaiju films, it's almost certain you'll experience enough cultural osmosis to at least think, "hey, that's really cool." In that regard he's a lot like Jason, in my eyes, and Jason went over wonderfully.

Chance: 10%
I'm gonna give him less than Godzilla due to less perceived evidence. There's nothing necessarily pointing to him, but like Godzilla, WB likes using him in things (they were both in Space Jam 2, after all). Though again, the developers' claim of wanting to really space out Giant characters makes Kong a bit more shaky when Godzilla is still yet to be seen, in my eyes. One other potential setback is that, combined with the previous, point, they may opt for a different gorilla, like Magilla Gorilla or Gorilla Grodd. The WB has a lot of gorillas. Granted, Kong's size and general demeanor would easily set him apart from these other gorillas, but I guess it's at least something to consider.

I actually prefer Kong to Godzilla, if we're being honest! I just really like gorillas. I'd love to see him join eventually, even if I'm skeptical over it actually happening.

I'm giving Godzilla a fair shake despite how litigious Toho is. Maybe WB can convince them to break the rules this one time. Plus, the idea of Batman vs. Godzilla in the Townsville stage just perks up my inner child. If you know, you know.

If I recall correctly, WB actually owns the original 1930s feature film thanks to the Turner merger of 1996. This automatically gives him an advantage over Godzilla when it comes to MultiVersus. I'd argue that we have no need for guest characters when WB has such a robust lineup of in-house ones, but at least he has a direct connection to the company. But if someone wants to include King Kong in a Universal-based mockup of MultiVersus, I won't stop them.

Whether or not we get Godzilla depends on whether or not Toho is willing to play ball. We know the team has tossed around the idea based on early datamine stuff, and there's clearly demand from the fanbase! It helps Godzilla's case that he's also been in Space Jam 2, so we know they're willing to license him out for crossover stuff. In spite of being a third party, I think his close Warner association and demand from the fanbase gives him a better shot than most third party characters. I don't know if it's gonna happen anytime soon given the legal red tape that comes with third parties and the team wanting to wait for their next giant character, but I wouldn't be surprised if Godzilla was in the pipelines.

Oh my god you have no idea how much I would pop off for Godzilla in this game. I only somewhat recently became a Godzilla enjoyer after watching the original film and Minus One back in December, but those movies were so incredible that they immediately sold me on this franchise. Depending on the film, Godzilla can either be a horrifying reflection of the destruction caused by nuclear war, or he can be a funny little guy who does cool wrestling moves against other big monsters, and I just think it's neat how both these flavors can coexist and both be great in their own right. Even if I wasn't a fan of these movies, I'd still be on board with Godzilla because having Godzilla in a fighting game is inherently sick. He's a giant radioactive lizard who breathes fire and suplexes other giant monsters, how would you not want him to fight Agent Smith and Jason Voorhees?

I'm gonna give Kong a lower score because I don't think he's as much of a priority as Godzilla. There's nothing pointing towards the devs considering him, and there's less fan demand for him based on what I've seen. He does also appear in WB crossover stuff like Godzilla, so he at least has that going for him. Despite Godzilla having Toho as a potential obstacle, I just think the giant lizard has more things pointing towards his inclusion than Kong does, so I'm gonna make a bold statement and give the ape the lower chance odds.

I'm less familiar with Kong than I am with Godzilla, so I can't speak to the quality of his films or moveset potential. However, he is a giant gorilla and also a household name, so he'd also just be inherently cool to have on the roster. I'd rather get Godzilla first if we had to pick just one of the kaijus, but having both in would be excellent.

So, due to multiple factors I'm not sure how much I will be able to contribute each day and the quality of my writeups may or may not be what they used to be. But this is a big day (figuratively and quite literally) so I have to give my takes.
Chance for both: 30%
In terms of my thoughts on third parties, I'm currently very skeptical on them. Yes, we've had LeBron James, but it's still pretty much up in the air how often we'll get them and where they'll be retrieved from since the game's budget is still questionable.
But assuming MultiVersus does well in the meantime, I could see us getting Godzilla and Kong. One of the main reasons for that is that they don't seem that expensive to license out. Kong has had cameos in WB stuff recently and Godzilla has had collaborations with smaller games like Gigabash which is from an indie studio and if an indie studio can retrieve Godzilla and several of his foes then I'm sure it's possible that Player First Games can get him.
And in addition to that, both Godzilla and Kong are very mainstream right now, like arguably more than they've been in many, many years. The Monsterverse has been a pretty big franchise for several years now and it's only gotten more successful. Godzilla vs Kong did wonders for movie theaters at a time where people weren't really going to theaters for obvious reasons and Godzilla X Kong is currently making bank at the box office, with a decent chance it might surpass Kong: Skull Island as the highest grossing film in the Monsterverse. And plus, you know, Godzilla and Kong are massive icons and are highly requested. I can totally see them even being some of the first third parties added.
The only other wrinkle in their chances is that Legendary announced a while ago that they would be parting away with WB when it comes to distributing the Monsterverse films in the future. While I don't think this is major damage to their chances, it is something to consider.

I adore these two very, very much and I've been a huge fan of them as far back as I can remember. The original King Kong is a landmark film for cinema history and the 2005 remake is one of my favorite films. Kong himself is just a great character all-around; he's been a tragic figure and his evolution in the Monsterverse has been nice to see.
Then there's my main man, Godzilla. What can I say? He's the coolest and it would be amazing to see them fight and team up in MultiVersus. It would truly bring the game to that next level of hype crossover.

Like many other people have been saying, Toho is Godzilla's biggest hurdle to over come which is why I'm giving Kong a slight edge. Granted Godzilla has been in other crossovers recently (namely the Justice League Vs Godzilla Vs Kong miniseries) so I don't see Toho being that big a hurdle. Legendary leaving WB might be an issue for Godzilla and Kong since they were the masterminds of the Monsterverse. As for Kong, Universal might cause issues since they were responsible for the Peter Jackson remake but they allow WB to make Skull Island which was the genesis of the Monsterverse.
Want: 100% for both

My first Godzilla movie was the infamous 1998 film featuring "Zilla" (who got redeemed in the animated series) and the 2005 King Kong remake I have watched quite a number of times since seeing it in theaters. If one of them gets in Multiverses, I'll definitely be cheering. If both get in, my jaw will drop at 100x the speed of light at that feat of licensing.

i think that more or less obvious of having Godzilla in the game,he is a pop culture icon,have a lot of crossovers with him,and i kow a little bit of Godzilla,but i just know that creepypasta from NES game,the comic Godzilla in Hell and the 1998 Godzilla movie who my opinion the movie is meh

Godzilla

49%: Godzilla is one of japan's most iconic characters and has probably now grown into the most recognizable icon in all of media, the king of all monsters has a record of 33 films total from 4 different eras, 5 films made in america, has had several tv shows such as Godzilla: The Series, Singular Point, and Monarch, has had a lot of video games aswell as guest appearances in some games, and the list goes on.
Godzilla's chances on Multiversus has always been doubled down on what the original holders "Toho" decide on how godzilla appears in the game and many for a while he was shown from the game files that The Big G had been planned at point with a moveset & size file, but has since then been scrubbed off entirely, we all thought Toho had a lot of rules that kept him away aswell as Legendary Pictures seperating from Warner Brothers had made his chances go down significantly.
But recently with the apparent success of Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire, both characters have become more well popular then ever and legendary pictures has expressed wanting to continue using the monsterverse series with possible new films and video game adaptations, most likely similar to the jason universe movement were friday the 13th will be adapted to games the studio might want to put godzilla into multiversus,
As for Toho? well we all thought their little rule about how godzilla should be portrayed would keep the king of kaiju's out of multiversus, however there have been recent games with the big g that includes him doing stuff that toho doesn't want godzilla to be seen doing(Using items in GigaBash for example) among some other things i have heard about earlier this year & not just in the games which makes me think toho's strict rule isn't being completely followed anymore.
It's possible Toho could still suggest some ideas such as "Godzilla not being weaker or stronger then Shaggy" but if those strict guidelines aren't taken seriously anymore then there's nothing stopping godzilla from finding his way in the roster, right?
Well, it may still be tricky. Godzilla might have some licenses owned by various different studios & people and it would also take a hassel to get EVERY ITERATION of Godzilla if the crew are fetching for the right to use Mecha-Godzilla or another iteration for an outfit and while Legendary is interested in making games for Godzilla X Kong they could still be a studio to negotiate with and if they would agree given the idea of why they must've left warner brothers or if they're still in good terms.
However in spite of those obstacles i think the strict rules not being forced by toho and legendary caring about the series are enough to make me think there's a chance for Godzilla to get in and if it does get in? well it'll be a miracle.

60%: King Kong, another iconic giant monster from the film industry, well known for it's scene with the tower having a monkey fending itself against airplanes while banging on it's chest or the main iconic end line said by the film's antagonist, Carl Dengham.
Kong has been around ever since the 1930's during the time of the great depression, succeeding in the box office with $11, 777, 000 dollars The Great Big Ape(Not the purple one) went on to star in several different movies those including the times he's been with Godzilla, Various Video Games(Which some may be better while others are not), A Multitude of Animated Movies and TV Shows such as The BKN International Films, King of the Apes, Skull Island, and Monarch too? and similar to Godzilla the list goes on.
Unlike The Big G though, Warner Brothers does has ownership with the original movie however Universal owns the rest of the series, there are other ownerships though the other one highlight is Toho who owns the monsterverse version of kong, so even if King Kong was eligible to get in Multiversus the crew & warner might aim for the Monsterverse(and possibly Peter Jackson) versions of the characters which would require some negotiations & see if each of the companies can trust each other before going through, Maybe with the success of The New Empire Kong's chances are may be in a good situation for him to be used though it'll likely be a matter of time until the crew are interested in doing kong before doing Godzilla or Waiting until they're ready for another giant character.

79% and 65%: While i never seen the entirety of Godzilla's Franchise minus Vs. Destoroyah, Some clips of King of All Monsters, Monarch, and Watching The New Empire Recently, i think Godzilla's a cool character design wise and i think he'd be a really great character to have in Multiversus, Kong would be great to though i would be more interested in the former more.
But i did watch the peter jackson remake of King Kong back when i was a kid and recently got reminded of it again when it was on Netflix, i feel like it'd might've been a great movie for me and would like to rewatch it again.

I'm pretty sure Planet of the Ape has nothing to do with WB. The vast majority of the movies were made by 20th Century Fox and the most recent film is under the Disney banner because of the Fox purchase. I don't see any of the Apes characters making it in Multiverses.

DC Comics published some of The Boys comics so it was allowed (even if the connection was loose) and Walter White was done as an April Fools Day joke that just extended way beyond April Fools.
I'm sorry that you got the wrong impression. But you can check out the rules on the first page to determine exactly who you can nominate. In short, you can nominate any character who is owned or co-owned by Warner Bros or Discovery, had a product distributed by Warner Bros or Discovery, or is a character that has had a significant appearance in a Warner Bros or Discovery product, like LeBron James or Guy Fieri (characters in this category are subject to approval).

Previously, I pretty unanimously gave characters really high scores under the assumption the game was going to be a massive success and live forever and have a gazillion characters. That optimism seems... misplaced, at the current moment. To adjust, I'm going to be giving three chance scores: one for the character coming relatively soon (within 10 characters/a year or so), one for the character in my previous "infinite content" outlook, and the median of the two (this is my "official" score). This should hopefully keep me from being too much of an annoying outlier.
Kong Who Legally Cannot be called a King
Chances - 15%/75%/45%. Kong is one of the most iconic movie characters of all time. The first King Kong movie came out in the thirties, and we recieved another very well recieved Kong movie this year. Not many characters can still claim relevance after close to one hundred years? In addition, a major strength is his size. Unlike in Smash, which is terrified of colossal characters, Multiversus made it an archetype with the Iron Giant. Not only does that give him an opening, the existence of an archetype which lacks a ton of other obvious options leaves him in a really good spot. I mean, other than Kong and Godzilla, what other giant size options are there? The Diamonds from Steven Universe, maybe? Really, the only thing holding him back is that he's technically a third party, but whatever agreement they have going on with Paramount seems to be working out, so I see no reason for them to deny the crossover. It does hurt him on the "coming soon" metric due to all of this, though. There aren't any leaks or datamines hinting at him either, so that's another sign he's not coming soon. Regardless, if the game has a long life, I have very little doubt we'll see the King of the Jungle.
"Roar" - Godzilla (quote he STOLE from the iconic animal planet lion)
Chances - 20%/90%/55%. Like King Kong, Godzilla has been iconic for the better half of a century, is the face of one of WB's flagship series, and is one of the few viable giant size character choices. He also shares the monkey's one flaw, being owned by a separate company. Toho is slightly more likely to be a hassle than Universal, but I don't see that being a huge roadblock. Godzilla still does a lot of crossovers. Hell, Godzilla (and Kong) just showed up in Call of Duty to promote the new movie. They aren't allergic to this kind of stuff. I rated Godzilla above Kong for a few reasons. Number one, I feel like he's more iconic than Kong. I don't have anything but vibes to back this up, but I just have a gut feeling more people care about Godzilla. Second, he has a bit more potential than the primate, both in moveset (atomic breath, his tail, and his back spikes) and in costume options (how many Godzilla appearances have there been? enough to make a pretty penny, that's for sure). Lastly, I'm fairly certain there was some reference to him in the game's code. I could be misremembering, but I'm fairly certain there was some height parameter referencing him in the closed beta. The (relatively) ancient data doesn't give him much of a boost, but every little bit helps. Really, the only obstacle he has is the game going kaputs again.
I'll give both of them a 95% chance in want. I'm not overly familliar with either, but one is a big lizard and one is a big ape. that's cool. Noms to gwimbly.

His recent films have been made by Warner Bros but I don’t believe they have full ownership over the character and Universal probably has some control still. That being said, with the recent reveal of Jason, the door has been open for third parties for the franchise.

Dune Two (Characters)
Paul's Chances: 60%
Being the protagonist of at least two feature films does go pretty far in a character's favor. And yet, I feel like Paul is under the radar in terms of MultiVersus speculation. That doesn't mean I don't think Mr. Atreides is totally out of luck. The Dune duology did sell a lot of tickets.
Idaho's Chances: 40%
I'm not sure if Dune warrants a second character. Even if it's just one rep from Arrakis, it's probably gonna be Paul.
General Want: 50%
I know nothing about Dune, and I felt bored watching Part Two in theaters. As such, my want for Paul or Duncan is split down the middle.

Chances: 65% and 30% respectively
I think Paul has a decent shot at getting into Multiverses. Both Dune films are quite successful critically with the second one being one of the few box office hits of 2024 so far. In fact the only 2024 film that came close to matching Dune Part 2's gross was Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire and both are WB movies. There is plenty of merits for Paul being the first (and likely only) Dune rep. I don't have high hopes for Duncan. Reportedly Jason Momoa will be reprising his role as Duncan for Dune Messiah, but that film won't be coming out for a few years. If Dune does get representation in Multiverses, it will likely be just Paul.
Want: 75% and 20% respectively
I want to see Dune succeed in reaching a larger audience. I read the first Dune book for highschool so I have a personal connection to the franchise. Paul is the poster boy and an interesting take on the messiah archetype so it will be a treat to see how he interacts with the rest of Multiverses roster. Duncan I'm less interested in only because I barely remember him in the book and he dies in the first movie.
