I hate when people correct others' sentences. Mainly in Hebrew though, as we have sexes for nouns, so for example a car is a female and a table is a male. The thing is we also have a way to say numbers for male/female and many people make mistakes there (almost every person who comes to live in Israel and Hebrew is not his first language makes so many mistakes), and some people are just adamant about correcting those.
Drives me insane...

Oh, my rehitorical question, huh?

Star, you gotta realize that there are levels of error. A single bad capitalization in a corrector post is not equal to a blatant and grievous wound to the English language in a similar post. You'll notice that I never correct capitalization or run-of-the-mill internetisms. Likewise, I wouldn't go through a MATTS! post and play find-the-misspellings, whereas I would do so in posts that should know better.

That being said, I respect your position, and will endeavor to curtail my inner grammar Nazi. He'll only be let out in the most extreme circumstances, from this point onward.

Mission accomplished.

EDIT:

Also, "corrector" should be "more correct", assuming the type of post he is referring to is not actually a "corrector post", as in a post made by a corrector. This could still very well be the case, but it's vague, and the context in which "corrector" lies does not support the idea of a "corrector post" since "similar post" is used in comparison, and there cannot be two "corrector posts", if one is correcting the other.

And if you want to be really nitpicky, other errors exist such as the notion that posts exhibit a sense of free will with the ability to "know better".

I held out for a couple of weeks, but I can't do so any more.

"Corrector post" did not mean "more correct post." It was "corrector" in the sense of "a person who or object that practices correction" (Wikipedia). IDK (C wut I did thar?) what your nitpicks with that use of it were, but it seems fine to me, if a little vague (That's not a spelling-and-grammar issue). With regards to the real nitpickiness (made up words like that are OK in an informal setting like this if used for humorous purposes, by the way) personification isn't bad writing.

The "rehitorical" was an ironic jab at the way Dsc spelled it, not an error on my part.

I rest my case. If any errors in spelling or grammar were made in this post, my seriousness argument probably takes care of them.

Mr. Fry has a point (albeit one that a thousand people have made a thousand times before, in less British voices), but come now. Who among us isn't annoyed by egregious, frequent, and unnecessary errors of the type I was pointing out? While they may not prevent you from understanding straight-up, it's not the same as Mr. Fry's "disinterested", where context makes everything blindingly clear. Reading through bad posts is a hassle that could be avoided if people would put a bit of effort into their posting, is all I'm saying. The issue is one of degree; that is, a greengrocer's minor error and an awful forum post should be dealt with differently, not because the crime is completely different, but because it's less severe in one case.
