anyways, is the tip system stupid? probably... I'm all for forcing a 15% service charge or whatever, and only "tipping" when service warrants it (like it is almost everywhere else in the world)

given the status quo, however, the only person not tipping punishes is the waiter; you aren't sticking it to the man or screwing the system; you're screwing someone who probably makes even less money than you and relies on it for his livelihood

But you missed the point. He had no money. Even if she gave him a blowjob, two time what he ordered, made sure he never ran out of whatever he was drinking, got the food there quickly and was the nicest person in the world, he still wouldn't of tipped. Why? Because he had "No Money".

Like what if you needed to take a cab somewhere but were hella broke so took it to the exact limit of ur cash and couldn't tip. Would it be less ****ed up to take the cab less far and factor in the tip? Yes, but then you'd have to walk longer and that would suck. I dunno-- Service workers should expect the occasional ******* with no tip money. There's hella drugs in the restauraunt industry so maybe that waiter was gonna spend his tip money on cocaine which means ur really helping him out by not tippin lol

tax is required for me to get my food, which I can afford for my Chinese food....it's more like paying for my cheeseburger with exact change and not having leftover coins to put into the child donation thing. Sure I really want to and I should, I just don't have the money

just to be clear on the whole service industry blah blah blah thing because it seems it went over some peoples' heads, waiters // pizza drivers often get paid significantly under minimum wage, with the understanding that it will be made up (and maybe more) through tips. If you don't tip them, they're making $3 an hour for what we all know is a crappy job
