Yea, it's open now..
It's basicly a Brawl-Player-List.
You can search other player or just list all registered players, filter by region and main-character and sort by username, brawl-name, region, etc~

You're able to enter:
- Your Brawl- and Wii-Code (Brawl-Code currently disabled, will be enabled when Brawl's released.)
- Your 5-character Brawl-Name and Main-Character, which list will be always up-to-date.
- Your region and country you live in.
- Some comments, you can add some additional information if you want to.


Right now I'd call it "beta-testing" since I haven't tested it deeply yet.. but it should work well...
If you find any bugs or have suggestions, please send me a pm or post it here.

Still need to add a field for Wii code, and I'll add a little game box for Brawl like there are for Pokemon and Strikers. But it already has 600+ smashers as members.

I'm not trying to derail your project, I just want to make sure you're aware there's other sites out there attempting to fill this role and more. Maybe you'd be interested in collaborating?

Since I'm working very close with a german SSBB site and eventually merging the designs.., I dunno.
Still, I'd like to have it a stand-alone site with an own domain but I haven't decided yet.

No, what you need is to spread the same database of players to different sites, and not just on one forums. Then, you can make some progress. Possibly even a freewebs site or something and spread the wor.d

Photoshop anytime. But sorry, these aren't just text-layers and some effects on it.
It requires to do some work everytime you change the text.

I wanted to make it as easy as possible for the user while maintaining a good overview.

What about the Global Smasher Compendium for Google Earth? If we had a little bit more profile information or... I don't know, but that's a pretty good way to find Smashers as well. Maybe if they just put in a spot for friend codes.

Yea.. it's as simple as that.
The metallic texture is made by some grayscale noise and extreme horizontal motion blur.

I would hold off on the art of the site and just focus on the features. Later, when Brawl comes out, you can mimic the art direction that the staff has created. I wouldn't get too worried about the art as I'm sure it'll be changed quickly.

Secondly, I would try to collaborate with Smashboards. I'm sure this built-in community would be perfect for the service. Instead of just finding random people to fight using your features, having a community that actually knows each other (or rather, CAN know each other) would be more fufilling.

And lastly, the name. Um, I would probably use "Smash" instead of "Brawl" so the service can keep on going without changing the name when the next game in the series releases. Smash Club? SmashConnect? *shrugs* I'm partial to SmashConnect.

EDIT: I just realized an opportunity. Something Brawl SHOULD have. Voice Chat. Ventrillo could be used as well to provide members with voice chatrooms for matches. Ofcourse, it's not free so a generous soul will hopefully be among us.

It's called Global Smasher Compendium, and it's for Google Earth. It's really cool, so I would go check it out! Sorry, too lazy to find a link, but just google it. Typing in "Global Smasher Compendium smashboards" will probably take you right to the thread.

I'm in a suburb of St. Louis Missouri for college, and unlike my hometown of miami/ft lauderdale florida, there seem to be no competant smashers here. If i could find just two, i'd be extatic, but all the posted midwest people i could find were either different states, or too far away so this could be a Godsend. work on functionality first, aesthetic value last

I hope that I'll be able to finish it at the end of this week.

I'd really like to have something above the main text like the "Super" in the SSBB Logo and the "Brawl" in my temporary logo for the service.
"Smash Connect" alone would work nevertheless, but maybe there are some more ideas.

Yeah, it looks good to me. I wish you could add that orange check mark as well. You know the one under "Brawl" in the game title? Not sure how you would use it, but it is a nice splash of color.

I really like the look, and simplicity of use. thats mainly why I prefer it over nealdt's site. I would try to add more features, if I were you; which is why I think you should try a collaboration with nealdt, and merge your to sites together.

also, a few "problems" I want to note about your site...

1) theres no "Canada" region D:

2) you spelled Meta Knight's name wrong. you put a hyphen ( - ) in between Meta and Knight, and theres not supposed to be one.

3) you can't use hyphens in user names. some people have Hyphens in there name (like me...), and I don't think they should be restricted from using there correct user name.

of coarse, none of these complaints are really a problem (except for #1), but still...

cool, thanks... you really didn't have to fix them, since they don't really cause any problems with the actual functionality of the site.. but thanks anyways.

also, when you fix the hyphen in user name "problem", would you be able to change my username so it has a hyphen in it? I signed up with no hyphen, but if I could have one, I'd like to... sorry if I'm being demanding, I'm just trying to help with the site... if it's too much of a hassle to change my username, then you don't have to go through the trouble.
