How much left is there to do? I think youve nearly finished making Pichu except from the partial size modifier or is that already done. either way your nearly finished right?
well if i'm right its come to the conclusion of it's a really good psa but now its time for the real model but it's alot of work like the title says

Will this still only be one of Pikachu's slots? As in will it still be an option to only replace on of his textures?
The model, yes. The PSA still affects all costumes.

I think Raznak7 has an animating method that involves using sprites or something similar. You should try asking him about it if you haven't already.
That animates 2d items. If I did that to Pichu we'd have 2D pichu D:.

Just curious, but have you tried this yet? Rename Pichu's bones to the corresponding ones on Pikachu. IIRC, Eldiran said that you wouldn't have to tediously fix the animations if you copied the translations from the T-pose to frame 0 or something along those lines....

But my memory is a bit foggy, might want to just send him a message and see what he can do for you.

I support 100%, and would love it to continue, but i really dont think the UTaunt should restore health
you bumped -.- but the u taunt restores health to make up for self damage, if pichu is at the bottom of the tier list on melee then she/he needs things to make up for that which is why it gets strong at 100% but i think this project is still on hold so....

Ok it's Canada. That's it no more details.

Actually, I think the taunt should restore health. (Just my opinion) Because if Pichu has self damage, then Pichu would be eliminated fast without the health restore. But yeah what about boss battles. Pichu has unlimited health recovery!:)

why do you care?
suporting this thread! just got me a spiky-eared pichu in HGSS, and im lovin' him to death. someone should make a vertex of pichu into spiky eared version.

also, i think he should have a taunt like pika's, where he is surrounded by electricity, and then gains about 5% health back.

also, ever thought about giving him a slightly different moveset?

Why would Pichu gain health by using electricity, which hurts him?

And since we want to be true to Pichu, I think a crucial thing is to keep the moveset as close to Pikachu's as possible while only changing the mechanics behind them.

just wondering is this project still on hold, I know it would be a lot of work but it would be one of the first complete character with a completely new model

Instead of using a different model why not use a vertex hack?
well there's a pichu in mdl0 so it would be better but for now, now that i think of it a vertex hack would be good it would get rid of that old parts modifying code and no remade animations

It's at about 2%. I'm not going to import the model until/unless there is a way to make the current animations work with the new model. If there isn't, then I'm gonna have to wait for someone to vertex/rig a model that will.

Exactly, it would solve all the problems AND you wouldn't have to fix hit boxes.
You know how difficult it is to vertex hack Pikachu? If you want it vertex hacked so badly, do it yourself or find someone that actually is great with working with just a few Polygons. >.>

I'd rather stick to the model for now. It looks better than any vertex hacked Pikachu could, and while making it work with the game will take much longer, in the end it'll look better.

it would obviously look better the only thing though is just if its on hold and people saying there is so much work it would seem like a temp fix i have no idea how hard it is to vertex hack pikachu and i would like to help but i'm not good at that

I'm not so great at vertex hacking, but I can bone hack pretty well~ :3 Anyone know how to hack the base bones (t-pose) without BrawlBox? I know that if you hack the t-pose in BrawlBox, the model stretches and distorts in funny ways.
EDIT: I figured it out and got decent-looking Pichu ears & tail, but it had no effect on the actual animations ;~; I did vertex hack a notched-ear costume though... I still think it doesn't look quite right without the actual Pichu ear shape.

The fact is, Pichu's model has so few bones to work with that many animations would actually look pretty awkward.

You're a stalker
I tried working on a pichu vertex hack, but had no luck, you see the ears and body are the only things with vertices, so the head is not editable.

You guys need to understand, we're planning our Pichu design on the notched-eared Pichu seen in HG/SS

oo. The only bad thing is the joint between the head and the ear being too narrow. it wouldnt hurt to make it a bit more oval too i guess

We can't use the first one because I don't want to go through the trouble in redoing all of the animations. So we're going to use something like #2 but probably looking a little better

if we are using the pika vertexed into pichu, a lot still needs to be done. i honestly won't use a pichu that is fat and chubby. it looks so...wrong...
