At least someone knows who I am lol thx for the support. I always felt like most american except top melee players doesnt know who I am and thinks kage is the best in canada since he has been travelling more in the past few years. However, Kage has never beaten me in a tournament since he started playing competitive smash in 2006.
do u really think people dont know who you are? Maybe i know who you are b/c i am a melee peach main and atm you might be my pick for 2nd best peach. Also i feel most people just think kk is the best from canada. Lastly while I do respect your melee skills i strongly disagree with were you put zelda on your pm tier list on smashmods. She should be around 13th imo

Uh, I don't think you're supposed to be focusing on shooting AS at Ike. Lucario's CQC game ***** Ike and he has the mobility and tools to avoid janky crap.
Oh idk I don't play Lucario

Just camp. From my experiences, camping with good projectiles stops Ike.

Limit Ike's options at the edge with projectiles if he's attempting to go for the sweetspot with Aether. Otherwise, you can just Dtilt / Dsmash / SA.
Sounds good, but the sword on the aether knock me away from doing a d-tilt/smash

I'd like to argue against this. With access to decent CQC options, great mix-ups, ranged and edgeguarding tools, Ganon is more than capable of taking on Ike. I'd love some enlightenment on why Ganon supposedly loses, though, as my Ganon is subpar at best; I only know enough about the character to correctly play the MU (i.e, only a portion of Ganon's stats, his intended playstyle, more known tricks, etc). Whenever I try that MU, it feels as if a lot of Ike's bs can be played around, bringing it closer to even, if not in Ganon's favor.

Is that really relevant? If both players are on equal terms in regard to their respective skill levels and proficiency with their characters, the MU wouldn't be any better or worse for Ike.
Ganon has to work really hard in the MU. You tend to have to CC something like Ike's Fair or Jab, and go IMMEDIATELY into CG (I dunno if you can CG Ike at 0/verry low % if he DI's hard behind you, some characters you can't). Or CC into Down B Jab etc. Ganon's own Fair is outranged by Ike's Fair and getting inside of Ike's range safely is quite hard. Ganon can do ok dealing with Ike approaching, even if it's janky stuff like throwing out Down B every so often to dissuade Quick Draw. Defensively Ganon goes fine. It's offensively when you're trying to get in or land that first blow that feels damn impossible with Ganon.

There's a list of characters I would prefer to use vs Ike than Ganon because it's that frustrating lol.

As for the Peach stuff, what I meant to convey is that while I think she's a hard MU for Ike, she's not a "pick up out of nowhere" kind of counter. If someone wanted to put time into Shiek for example, they will do very well vs Ike. Peach in a similar spot, would probably be harder to pick up. It was just a note about practicality, not "well Peach only does good if you are good with her so it's not a bad one for Ike".

Oh idk I don't play Lucario

@WhoeverToldMeToPlayAgainstRyoko/Zhime
I'd love to play against Zhime and Ryoko (Ryoko, especially) but until I make my way down to a big MD/VA tournament that JC hosts in the future, I probably won't ever get that chance :p
Anyways...

So BH2's top contenders are:
Chillindude
DoH
Fly_Amanita
HungryBox
Kels
Mango
Metroid
Nintendude
ORLY
Rat
Scythe
StrongBad
Vro

My predictions are:
1st: Mango (Mario/Fox/Falco)
2nd: Hbox (Puff/Mario)
3rd: Rat (Sonic)
4th: Vro (Ike)
5th: Metroid (Ike)
5th: Nintendude (Ike/Peach)
7th: Fly_Amanita (DDD)
7th: Kels (Fox/Sheik)
9th: Chillindude (Wolf)
9th: StrongBad (DK)

..Not sure. This will be one stacked bracket.

Don't know if you missed or avoided my question before, but I was just curious to know if you have any footage of you playing Project M
What question? I probably missed it.

I only got one video up but nothing with snake besides a clip from a long time ago on wifi lol

Can't say I'm too fond of how I played that set, but it wasn't anything series like a tourney set and was just picking characters. Was playing kinda sloppy because my ride was pressuring me to hurry up to leave. I also think I've gotten decently better since this.

Bottom line is Snake has really good matchups against spacies and Jigglypuff, but not so good matchups against Sheik and Marth. If I was Snake, I'd probably want to avoid Sheiks, Marths, and maybe Ikes. Other than that I wouldn't be too worried.

Also I would agree with daze's predictions except I think Rat could beat Hbox. And so could.... well, pretty much all those Ikes.

To be honest even though this might of been 2 months ago I still can kinda tell that you are not consistent with basic tech and are sort of still at a beginner advanced player stage and extremely doubt there's been an EXTREME improvement (I could be wrong)

I extremely doubt that you have got a good enough grasp with any character (especially someone who isn't even your main) to determine what MU are good for them...just being honest.

For Snake vs Fox I'd have to direct you to check out Professor Pro's stream because the only spacies players I play, I play very seldomly. I haven't been able to play them recently enough in that matchup and record it at the same time.

It's basically a series of uthrows, utilts, c4 sticks, and tons of up-b, especially oos.

List sucks nerd

1st: Vro (Back with vengeance)
Hbox (Has Sonic experience, Rat doesn't have Puff experience. -He will be focused on Melee too though that didn't stop him last time)
Fly (Smart, D3 is a time consuming to learn match up, -Focused on Melee too -Lacks just a tad of good P:M opponent experience)
Metroid (Dedicated only to P:M, didn't enter Melee)
Rat
Nintendude (Has experience in P:M, Ike/Peach both good to beat people)
Mango (Lacks P:M experience: regardless of how good he thinks he will do)
Kels (Has P:M experience, I want to put him higher, but if he's dittoing Mango with Melee characters himself Mango will win)

I honestly think that isn't a super accurate representation of how I usually play. I had just hoped on after playing SF so I had to adjust as I went along. If you notice, there's a pretty dramatic difference between how derpy my zard played and how I played later on with like Lucas or Lucario. Also I meant I improved as in developed the characters better.

And to be clear, I never said I solidly think Snake is the worst. It was more of my initial impression after trying him out for a slight extended period of time. I even went on to say that I think he is very viable, just didn't jump out at me as amazing because I felt he didn't have very many good MU's. I honestly think the character is a ton of fun and has potential, but I didn't readily see why people would place him so high above other characters.

It's very possible at mid level play that Ike is near broken and Snake is pretty bad, but that is not really what things are balanced on.

Edit for Carroll:

Except Ike is broken at ALL levels of play

P:M is being balanced on Mid-Level play and Wifi. Time to take the red pill.

I think Mango is either gonna win big house 2, or lose to either Sonic or Ike which is unlikely. And if he does lose, P:M will be patched so those characters are nerfed. Unfortunately we probably live in such a world. It may be time to buff spacies guys.

I think Mango's gonna lose to either Lucario or Ike. Two ridiculous MUs to become accustomed to if you don't have P:M experience. And then those chars will be nerfed. Wait, what am I saying? They're probably going to be nerfed anyway, thanks to everyone crying "FOUL" over them.

Wolf's Shine can be CC'd which I think is incredibly dumb when i'm pretty sure you can't CC the rest of the spacies shines (could be wrong)
And also his lasers don't have the same priority Falco's lasers have IIRC...so they are easier to swat, and his combo game is based a lot on tech chasing rather than solid combos which do big damage like the other spacies.

I like him as he is though despite being aware he isn't the best Spacie, im not sure what more they could do to him but im not too fussed so just gonna wait and see.

People not playing wolf like a spacie/falcon hybrid
ISHYGDDT

Also, does sweetspotted shortened side-b put you in normal fall like the full length version or special fall? If normal fall, it could be used almost exactly like falcon's knee for KO's instead of requiring a lot of space (with practice, ofc).

I see what you're saying. So now, Wolf is lookin' like a balanced character. Hey, that gives me an idea. If Wolf's Shine can be CC'd, why don't they make both spacees' shines CC-able? That would be an awesome balancing trait.

#UncalledForSuggestions

Edit: Btw, I was under the impression that Falco's lasers were transcendent so they're not even "swat-able" at all.

They would NEVERRRR make Shine CC'able for Fox and Falco, that would mean Waveshines out the window and Falco Pillars and combo's as well.

They do need to fix that for Wolf, he's worse then the others with and without it anyway so they might as well give it to him

Problem? :troll:

Serious talk, even if shines were CC-able, waveshines would still be possible, they'd just be easier to avoid and they wouldn't be guaranteed death setups (or 0-to-deaths in Fox's case). It's impossible to react to a frame 1 move, so in order to CC a shine, one would have to prematurely predict it first. If Fox reads that, he gets a free grab or whatever. Also, even with CC's, I believe shinegrabs should still be possible, as well as shine > JC usmash.

#TheBalanceIsThereButNobodyWantsIt

Edit: Also, shines would still serve their purpose of making shield pressure safe. In other words, even with the ability to CC them, as jump-cancellable 1-frame moves that double as reflectors, the shines would still be OP attacks and the spacees would remain with their Top Tier goodness, just a little easier and more balanced for everyone else.

Well for the Wolf Shine CC they end up grounded so you can't Shine > Grab and the same could be said for the other spaices if it were

And if they were to take it out it would nerf them quite a bit, and soon as they Dair (which is a really common setup to shine) you would just CC striaght away, I don't think Spacies need nerfing anyway, they are fun being the solid chars they are...it's not like Spacies are dominating every tournament for them to be nerfed
