Sorry if this has been posted about already, but FD definitely feels smaller here than it has in Melee. Am I crazy? And if not, are there any plans to make it larger?

That is actually from Harmony of Despair, not dissonance.

A psn/xbox live only online game.
Right-o, I meant to say Despair. Too many Harmonys, lol.

Sonic overB jump cancel to wavedash is godlike btw. OverB, waveland, tech chase with overB, waveland...:awesome: Also b-reversing overB in the middle of a run to immediately change direction. This character is too fuuuuuun

Hmm, maybe it's the camera then.
Camera is pretty close to Melee in Demo 2.

Perhaps you're just thrown off by the look of the game in general. Or you're playing in Widescreen (which I'd assume you're not but it doesn't hurt to guess) which... isn't very fitting for the game. :V

I haven't made any plans for it. I'm working this weekend, then next week I'm probably going to a Brawl tournament around here (gonna try to get Project M friendlies). I don't know if anything's happening after that.

Would love to know how the new Koopa Klaw was coded. Was trying to figure that out for forever and it would be pretty useful to me. :(

Can grab collisions work like that for any character? Or was it only for Bowser's sideb-esque moves?

What is the quickest way to get the ability to choose my random stage list? Do I have to do vBrawl if my Wii is hackless?

I thought it was something like 200 vs match kills, but that did nothing.

You have to have all stages unlocked. I would recommend playing vBrawl to unlock all of them. (As some of the requirements have you play as characters not in demo 2).

Play kirby 20 times is how you get Green Greens IIRC. /Dreamland 64 in P:M. So you must play vBrawl in this case.

Haha, damn, I thought I was onto something original when I came up with both of those. :glare:

I feel like Ike hits too hard for how fast he moves, and combos too easily for how hard he hits.
Ike is top tier.

It makes me feel great that people are enjoying sonic, since a good part of his last changes were suggested by me. But how the character is now is all thanks to the continued efforts of all the sonic players in the BR and Cmart and Specks who did everything for us.

I feel specially good since a fellow Roy player as Sethlon, who I used to learn from videos is also enjoying.

Ike is top tier.
That much is certain.
I'm just wondering if it's too early to speculate if he should be toned down a bit. I could be bad at the match up, I could still be getting used to the feel (I'm a Melee player, but it still feels different and there are things that don't work). But my impression right now is that he may need to be toned down. He just seems really... easy to do really well with.

It is 200 vs match kills, but YOU need to be the one getting the kills. You have to also make sure it's regular VS mode and not special Brawl.

Play the game with the mind set Ike won't be changed, as if this was a real Smash Bros. released by Nintendo where Nintendo won't patch the game. I'm sure you'll find some way to beat Ike, even if it seems like Ike is impossible or hard to beat.

But we are certainly going to be watching, don't worry (this is where tournaments and video footage comes into play).

Anyone trying to even put a character in a general tier is RIDICULOUS. The game JUST came out. Melee's metagame is still changing TO THIS DAY, and only 1/3rd of the cast is on the level of EVERY character in P:M. I just facepalm every time I hear people talk about a character being broken or OP. Unless they have some BS that lets them break shields in pressure, get 1st-hit from approaches every time, or 0-death consistently, they aren't broken.

I agree that it is too soon to speculate, but at the same time, has anyone been playing Ganon against Bowser and Charizard? Ganon has a been a main for my brother since melee, but both Charizard and Bowser seem to completely out range him with their melee attacks AND murder with their firebreath.

in short... where's Kage? I haven't seen a post from him in a long while.

Tried the demo for the first time today and it was really fun, buffed melee characters feel great.

I also run into two bugs.
The first one: it was DK vs Luigi in the Jungle stage, I did a cargo throw on the upper left platform, tried to throw Luigi down and ended up going through the platform and into the main platform.
DK was stuck with about a third of his body inside the stage and I couldn't do anything until Luigi broke the grab.

The second one: a weird buzzing noise that happened a couple of times and went away in a few seconds, we couldn't really figure out the cause since it happened only twice and during 2v2s.

It's in the known issues list in the original post, please read that in the future before reporting things!

Thanks though.

Ya I'd like to to report that Peach when she gets Bitten by Wario's bite, goes into a really awkward and shaking animation. As if someone unintentionally messed with that animation in BB.

Think of it this way:
You've been playing your brother's Ganon (presumably) for years. You know his style in and out. Now all of the sudden you are using characters he's NEVER played against or even seen before. What's the chance he will know how to space vs. them? He's also bound to get thrashed by a bunch of combos and tricks that won't work when he gets used to them, whereas you know every trick in Ganon's book. It's the same concept as secondaries. People who play each other all the time always get wrecked by each other's secondaries because of similar reasons.

I don't know how I missed it when I read through it, sorry.

We know of the DK bug, thanks.

The second one is weird. What stage were you on?
I think it was the Mario Kart stage, but I'm not sure, I'll ask my friends to see if they remember.

Is there any way to quit out once a stage is selected, like how in Melee you could press L R A Start if a stage came up that you didn't want to play on?

Ike has a 1 hit 0-death move that can also (probably) break shields. Ike is broken/OP/top tier.

You didn't say that the move had to be viable in serious matches...

If giving early impressions to spark discussion is wrong, I don't want to be right.

Yup, that's what I'm doing.

To be clear, I'm not under the impression that Ike is broken or "impossible." He sure as hell is hard to beat now (for me anyway), but I'm also not saying that that won't change. Obviously it's too early to say something like that. I'm just saying to keep an eye on him, because some aspects seem a bit too powerful (as a first impression).
