I swear Randall hates me

He does nothing but screw me up, and always helps my opponents.

I think it's the type of thing casuals wouldn't pick up on. Out seems like the sort of thing Sakurai put in to prevent stocks from lasting too long, but it's not very effective.

Thoughts?
i think its ********.
This confirms a zero to death meta game completey imo. People at mid percentage can escape combos and avoid death with vectoring. Now with this info, we can discern that characters that use early combos to move opponents offstage and kill (likely with a spike) will perform the best. I think with nerfed projectiles and the fact that the damage lets your opponent hit harder, characters that focus on stage control will have less of an impact. I can see using survivable characters to outlive your opponent working too, now that everyone is Lucario.
So either everyone mains Lucario or gets 20XX zero to death combos, mid percentages are too awkward.

How are you guys getting cramps so easily? I mean my hands are huge and I've been playing the demo for at least 2 hours(I was bored) and haven't gotten any hand pain yet. Using L for grabs is super awkward though. I'd rather it be R for grabs.
I've used an XL before and it felt much better, but the standard 3DS has always been fairly uncomfortable in my hands. But nothing I've had on it has been as intensive as Smash so it didn't matter so much.

What is the minimum required memory for USB loading? Also, when Zero Mission for eShop Nintendo? I'm not about all of this original Metroid BS, even if it is discounted. I forgot to get Link Between Worlds when it was on discount, same for MMX 1 & 2.

ok now that im more used to the controls the sm4sh demo is becoming more enjoyable. Villager is my favorite of the 5 but his aerial projectile is still weird to me XD

What's USB loading?

With regards to the Rage Effect, I'm not really sure about it atm. This will obviously make Lucario an extremely dominant character. I think Sakurai just wanted to implement some sort of "comeback" system, but I feel like it just evens the playing field a bit too much. I'll think about it a bit more and then probably post something else.

Side note: The Demo's a blast :}

The minimum would just be whatever the size of the game you're trying to load :V
Brawl's like, eight gigs or close to it. But that's pretty abnormal for Wii games. 4-5 gigs seems more typical.

RUINING EVERYTHING WITH EVERYBODY ELSE
Played a tad of the demo too
Villager is cool, got some sick combos on the bots and tried to figure things out but was more interested in how lulzy SideB gyro was and how far balloons could fly.
So good.

Then played some Kirby/Ike vs M2/ZSS and that was like so fun pm da bess.

rage mode was definitely an attempt at a comeback mechanic, except stock-for-stock is not even remotely like round-for-round, so by losing a stock you're at a notable disadvantage because now you can't kill your opponent who would've been at kill-% hadn't you lost your stock

basically, much like most things in smash, it's something really gimmicky and bad that's morphed into something a lot cooler by accident

Smash 4 feels alright.

It'd feel hella better if I had a Gamecube controller in my hands though. Circle pad is insanely awkward.

What is the rage mechanic, I can't see whatever soft serve posted because I'm on ****ing mobile smashboards. So no vids.
People do more damage/knockback as they get more red (higher percents, we thought it was just visual before. WE THOUGHT WRONG).

Also how come "Robin (Male)" is locked while "Robin" isn't? They're the exact same icon. If anything make the icon like the Shielda and then have it say "Robin"

In a nutshell, if a character is in the danger state on %, they get a slight knock back increase onmmoves.

So yeah, bowser is gonna be even scarier in Smash 4.

THE BRILLIANCE IS REAL. SC Scene Advertising ftw.

So like l-cancelling
L-canceling is so overrated, I understand that it adds difficulty to Spacies, but really the miniscule jumpsquat is most of the challenge. If you just make all aerials low lag, you would get the same effect. PMDT, when does EZ-mode come out so that I can play with complete casuals without them feeling specifically disadvantaged. becausehowdotriggerworks?

technical depth is meaningful imo
There is no depth, because L-canceling is always the right thing to do. There are no mind games related to L-canceling; not L-canceling doesn't provide a different range of options high-level players can incorporate into gameplay. It just adds meaningless difficulty. It's like if I turned on manual reloading in an FPS where auto-reload is an in-game option (and the reload animation can be canceled by firing, like in TF2). I don't gain any depth to the game, I just have to periodically press a button.

Well I'm just going by the logic that more buttons pressed --> deeper tech, but apparently that's wrong?
... But Soft Serve is basically right

And the above example about FPS' is completely wrong. Ammo management is a thing and being able to control when you go through reload lag is infinitely better than not. But if what you're saying about TF2 is correct, which I can't remember, then you're right in that instance.

I think the only legitimate mindgame with choosing to not L cancel, would be for characters who have an attack landing animation that puts them very low to the ground. Low enough to avoid grabs for example. If your character is forced to stand up near the end of that animation, and the opponent can grab near the end if they time it soon enough, you could have a mixup where if they mistake your L cancel and grab early, you could still be ducking under it and punish them. This is near rendered moot by PM's added "flash" that indicates a successful L cancel.

Again, literally only possible mindgame that makes any sense, and I have a hard time thinking of characters or attacks that fit this bill.

How do you tell if people are screwing with you. Girl today asked if I would be her boyfriend, so I just laughed it off. I found the question to be childish, as you wouldn't just declare something like that. Is she being mocking? Is she really that simple minded? Was it rude for me to laugh?

the interplay to lcancelling was better in melee, since you had light shielding and (better?) shield angling, to try and mess with timings, along with dodges/etc... to do so, as well.

in pm, the best thing about lcancel interplay would be hitting them while they're doing an aerial, to try and make them miss a tech or something : / (also in melee, but there were more useful interplays to try and force mistakes).

How could we possibly know without any context of your relationship? Didn't she make It clear if she was serious after your laughter?

I don't think it's a childish declaration on its face, sure most people just fall into these roles but being formal about it was how it used to be for everyone.

I'm cool with L-canceling because it adds a layer of stuff you can screw up.

Messing up timing is a valid point.
Is Ganondorf's up-tilt changed from Melee? It is such a good move in Melee.
what? it was terrible in melee ;x it was just as long as vbrawl's, but didn't have the vacuum windbox.

pm's is the best iteration, just by the fact that it's a usable speed.
